If you are considering booking this hotel, make sure that you are travelling with someone you know well as your privacy is not guaranteed. The open plan nature of the little villas means that the sink area is in full view of anyone in the rest of the bedroom, and your privacy in the toilet and shower is merely provided by a small curtain that does not cover the whole entrance. There are no blinds on the bathroom windows so you can also be seen on the outside. Considering the "luxurious" feel of the rest of the resort this is a really weird feature.
The pool area is fabulous, but the sunbeds get filled up quickly, and there are not always enough umbrellas to give shade.
The breakfasts, served in the Dolphin restaurant are excellent, with both an egg chef, and a fruit chef preparing fresh food. We found the prices in the main restaurant in the evening really quite pricey, but there are plenty of shacks around the back of the resort if you follow the path by the dive centre. Be brave and cross the bridge, as the shacks on the far side of the bridge are even cheaper and very good value for money.
We had a couple of days of torrential rain, and our terrace roof leaked so it was impossible to sit outside. The internet cafe and coffee shop was busy on wet days, and does have some books and magazines to borrow. Our holiday package said we would get private speedboat transfers to and from Tonsai Pier. These didn't materialise - we just had longboat transfers, and the hotel told us that they are never available, and we should not have paid for them. We were also told that we would catch the boat back to Phuket from Tonsai Pier, but we were actually taken out for a ferry moored in the next bay, and had to jump from the longboat onto the ferry in a 2/3 metre swell in torrential monsoon rain. This would have been fine in a flat sea, but it was not pleasant in the conditions we encountered.
The spa was fabulous, but very expensive. The diving was also very good.
