Nice and Spacious Resort
from mexxgal
This is probably one of the nicer resorts in Krabi. About 30-40 min from the airport and 20 min from Ao Nang beach. It's quite isolated but you don't really have to leave the resort if you are looking for a relaxing place to enjoy your vacation. The hotel grounds are immaculately kept and very spacious/zen deco. Rooms are generous in size and is decorated in a modern way, not the typical thai look. Had most of the meals in the hotel cos 1)too lazy to venture out often 2) can't find good food outside the hotel. Hotel food is very reasonably priced and most of the food we ordered was good. The international buffet dinner was however mediocre. The hotel spa is expensive.... but then again, very few day spas in Krabi or at least decent ones. Tried one and was very disappointed, should have stuck to the hotel spa. Staff at the resort were nice and friendly, typical thai hospitality. The hotel also has staff helping guests book tours eg. island hopping, kayaking, etc. The hotel arranges for the tour operators to pick up from hotel and the hotel provides towels for you to bring on the tours. Good value for money! (considering I paid a promotional low season rate of < US$100)
Great Hotel in a great Location - Great Staff!!
from Mayflowers
Have just returned from an 8 night stay at this lovely Hotel. The Hotel is in a very quiet location approximately 40 mins from the Airport. We stayed in a Zen room which was very nice - reasonably spacious with good sized bathroom with seperate shower cubicle. The rooms are quite modern and very clean and fresh. The staff at the hotel are fantastic - very friendly and really do want you to enjoy your stay. The Pool area is very nice with plenty of sun loungers and is reasonably quiet - the beach is beautiful and very unspoilt - again plenty of sun loungers. Beach Towels are provided by the hotel and you can sign for as many as you want. We had breakfast included in our package - it was fine - not the best I have ever had but far from the worst! There is a good variety of most things except perhaps the good old English Breakfast items...most mornings there were sausages (of some kind), bacon , tomatoes and potatoes. There is also a chef to make omelettes etc etc. There are three Restaurants in the hotel - Geckos - serving mainly a la carte fish dishes ) did not eat here so can/t comment. Mangosteens - seemed to serve buffet style meals - ate here a couple of times and it was quite nice - 650 Thai Baht per person Coco Vida (may have this name slightly wrong! ) This is the poolside bar - very small menu in the evening including Pizzas (which were nice!) There is also a nice cocktail bar called Martinis - I thought the drinks were quite expensive here but they do have a happy hour between 1900 and 2000 were drinks are 2 for 1. For our last three nights we walked up to the main road and found a small family run restaurant just to the left called Pan Sea - the food here was great and a lot more resonable than the hotel - would recommend a visit! The Hotel has a baby Elephant called RARA who comes out at 0900 every morning and at 1500 she comes out onto the beach and you can swin with her in the sea if you want to - shes lovely and if you can get hold hold of some bananas - she loves them!!!! If you want a quiet getaway at a beautiful hotel then this is the place for you !
Too quiet for my liking
from Swamp_Donkey66
We stayed at the Sheraton Krabi during the off season. The property is beautiful however we found it to be far too quiet for our liking. Everybody there seemed to be waiting for something to happen. The business centre was full most days with people surfing the net looking for things to do, ourselves included. I would describe the Sheraton Krabi as a lovely hotel as opposed to a resort. The Mangroves mean you cannot see the ocean from the rooms which is a pity on a tropical holiday. Maybe high season is a different proposition however we found ourselves stir crazy after only 2 days. We only stayed for 2 nights (had booked 7) before we decided to change plans and went to the Sheraton Grande Laguna Phuket. It is worth mentioning that the staff were truly outstanding and seemed genuinely upset that we left early. Never have I had better service and I found leaving early to be hard, however it was a decision I did not regret once arriving in Phuket. Also worth noting that the beds are incredibly hard. I found it quite difficult to sleep.
Sheraton Krabi - a fantastic hotel in a fabulous setting
from A TripAdvisor Member
Very modern and clean, well designed with excelent service and staff. Large quiet beach where RaRa the baby elephant has a bath every day! We had a fabulous time - rainy season is great value. Only possible spolier was expensive (relatively to Thailand) food and drink... but there is a neat little restaurant on the beach just next door which serves good, simple Thai food + some international cooking. The restaurant opposite the entrance is to be avoided! There is also another restaurant 15 minutes walk up the beach to the right (facing the sea).Ao Nang beach is a short taxi ride away and is a bustling but not too busy place with loads of shops and restaurants. Do visit "Nosey Parkers" elephant treks - more of a saunter thru light jungle than a trek but jumping down and sitting on the elephant's shoulders was just terrific - very good value for the experience of a lifetime. Altogether, Krabi has got everything as a region...
Pure Paradise! Exceptional service and excellent facilities
from A TripAdvisor Member
What more can I say other than "Pure Paradise". From the moment we arrived in the resort we were whisked off to our complimentary upgraded deluxe room on unique golf cart transportation. The facilities are all five star standard, with an excellent swimming pool (overlooking the beautiful beach), tennis courts, private beach, fully equipped gym and spa. The rooms were excellently equipped with the latest gadgets and well maintained. The service was second to none, the staff couldn't be more attentive and only too please to help and were genuinely friendly and welcoming. Breakfast in the restaurant was excellent and varied, dinner proved excellent - especially in Gekos (although quite expensive - try some of the restaurants in nearby Ao Nang or the Thai Restaurant opposite the hotel entrance; there is a shuttle service operated by the hotel to Ao Nang and Krabi Town). I would not hesitate to return to this fabulous hotel and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing break in paradise surroundings (we booked through Virgin Holidays).
Fantastic holiday
from areviewer1
Stayed 10 days at the hotel and our family had a fantastic time. We travelled as a family with 2 young children and felt it was a perfect holiday for young and old alike. Great beach with plenty of crabs for the children to chase and large shallow area to play in the waves. Very quiet - but that is exactly what we were looking for. Extremely relaxing with excellent service from all the staff.
Perfect place and spot
from A TripAdvisor Member
This hotel is fantastic in many way. A calm area for relaxing, not long from the beautiful islands. Not very exploit. You find everything you need around. Wonderful staff, so kindly and service minded. Everybody at the hotel made us very welcome and did our visit tremendous. We have already planned a trip back.
Best Holidya ever!
from JTravel07
Excellent Hotel. We stayed 10 nights in May 04 and had a wonderful time. The hotel was very quite and I believe we were lucky as there weren't that many guests. The hotel staff is so friendly and helpful. If you are travelling with children all female staff love children (especially babies and toddlers), they will constantly pick them up and play with them, which can be wonderful especially during meal times. The room was of good size with seperate seating are and patio or balcony. The mattresses are very firm but because of the climate and the dampness in the air mattresses need to be firm and thin rather than fluffy and bouncy - you get used to it after the 1 or 2 night. The restaurants were excellent; the quality of the food was unbelievable. The service in the restaurant was exceptional as we more or less had 2 waitresses to ourselves - we felt like royalty. The pool was very nice - not very big but large enough. The beach was not very tidy (lots of leaves and wood - no trash), but every morning a certain area was cleared by the hotel. The hotel is quite isolated, so you can't have a stroll and have dinner in the close surrounding. There are shuttles to the nearest beach resort and plenty of taxis from there to get back. The hotel also has a hertz rental car office so you can book a car to explore the area. I would recommend anyone a stay at the Sheraton Krabi.
Loved it!
from mel14
The Sheraton Krabi is a sleek designer resort, enabling complete comfort amidst the hot, humid and sometimes chaotic Thailand atmosphere. It is quite big and speradout, so if you're after a romantic little boutique hotel, do not go there. It has a nice beach, lovely swimming pool, beautiful setting, lovely open lobby and, of course, the famous Thai hospitality and service. We found it slightly sterile, not very "Thai", and a touch too large and elegant, but after being sent to another hotel in Krabi which we found absolutely terrible, the Sheraton was an oasis for us. When we planned the trip we could not decide which hotel to go to, as we wanted quiet and great service, but also to be right on a beach, and close to attractions, food places and so on. It is hard to find such a place in Krabi, at least according to our travel agent. It is far from the main villages where one can shop and eat, so if you like to be in the centre of what's happening, opt out. The hotel arranges some transport at set times, and it is not cheap. The breakfast is fantastic, but the restaurant prices are exhorbitant. We strolled down the beach, just 5 minutes to the right and had great authentic Thai food at a beach restaurant - name we can't recall unfortunately. It is very good and excellent value. I wish the Sheraton did not treat all its guests as if they were American millionaires, and offer a more reasonably priced eatery. We took a day trip to Phi Phi island, and had a fantastic trip. It is so sad to think what an awful tragedy befell upon this lovely paradise.
Caring and beautiful

We honeymooned here for a week in August 2006 and had a perfect week of peace and luxury. The food was first-class in the help-yourself buffet part, with everything for breakfast that you could wish for - from British to Thai curry. The restaurant is air-conditioned but it... more
