If you want idyllic luxury in a stunning setting, then Rayavadee is an amazing place to stay. From the minute we boarded the plane (Thai) everything was perfect.
As we booked via Kuoni, we were given private transfers and had the luxury of being driven to the boat by an air conditioned Mercedes.
The boat transfer took only 20 mins and the crew were fantastic, dressed in very smart uniforms. The boat was luxurious as well. Upon arrival we were served drinks and cold flannels. We upgraded to a bungalow with a private pool and were stunned when we were taken inside.
The bungalows are the ultimate in luxury; the bathroom was huge, with a walk in shower and a massive tub. I needed a step ladder to get onto the bed. Each day chocolates were left by the bed.
Bottles of water were placed all over the bungalow and at no extra cost, also tea, coffee and biscuits were supplied at no cost.
The food is outstanding, the breakfasts were lovely and whatever you asked for was cooked freshly, the omelette's were wonderful. There are 3 restaurants to choose from and all were excellent - you could also have a personal BBQ under the stars (a little pricey - but worth every penny).
The Thai restaurant overlooking the beach served fantastic food and the waiter even recommended against one dish as he said we would probably find it too hot.
There is a choice of two beaches, both get busy, however Rayavadee has luxurious beach beds set in their grounds right on the edge of the beach. The towel boys will fit the towels over the beds and wait on you hand and foot.
The only downside was that I was stung badly by a jelly fish on my second day! However I was the only one that had this problem, no one else seemed affected. The medical centre staff were great and gave me cream and tablets free of charge.
We did not take any day trips as we were so relaxed and happy that we did not feel the need. ALL of the staff there were amazing, incredibly helpful and very friendly.
The Hotel manager introduced himself personally and knew we had only arrived a few days ago. The attention to detail was second to none.
On arrival at Bangkok airport I was greeted by the Kuoni Rep who took us right to security and then presented me with a beautiful box of flowers.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Rayavadee - especially if you are honeymooning. Oh and watch out for the monkeys! We were treated to a little show by them in the garden of our bungalow - which included them diving from the gazebo into the swimming pool!
