Krabi Heritage Hotel

We booked this hotel for 2 weeks in august 2006 and had a reservation confirmed. On arrival we were asked to book in and then told that there was no room for us for 4 nights out of the 14, due to a smell in the room. We were sent to an alternative hotel called the Timber House which was not up to the standard of the one booked . When we went back to the Heritage the next day to see our 'rep' new guests were coming in and being taken to their rooms. There was a 'Tui' office/staff in the hotel and it seemed as if their clients were getting better treatment than the guests that travelled independantly. We were not the only people to be treated like this, several other British companies clients were affected as well. Once couple stayed in 3 hotels before finally getting in the Heritage. I managed to find out that the Heritage owned the Timber House and there is a possible connection to the Krabi Resort leading several of us to the conclusion that serious overbooking had taken place and guests were being placed anywhere. This hotel has a package holiday feel with lots of children, but the pool area is not big enough to support this kind of holiday. Many of the older independant holidaymakers who were well travelled in the Far East were very unhappy with this hotel. I had no problems of any kind with the staff and found them to be very nice. I would never stay at this hotel again as it reminded me of a package holiday to Spain and i would have no faith in the booking being honoured.
