Rocky Resort Hotel

We stayed at Rocky's in January 2005 as the last stop on our honeymoon and we wish we had just cut out the other trips and gone straight there ! This hotel really is wonderful. I travel extensively for work and have stayed at too many 5 star + hotels to recall and this is really something special. We were actually planning to stay at Tongsi Bay but at the last minute changed our minds and decided to go for Rocky's and I am so glad we did. Just returned from our holiday at The Rocky Resort in Koh Samui. The Rocky Resort is truly an oasis in Koh Samui. The Rooms are spectacular, just like the web picture. Everyone is very helpful and friendly we had a wonderful time. Thank you. Plus: very clean, helpful and friendly staff, wonderful rooms, especially the beach front, lovely beach albeit small. Negative: food good but pricey could do with a bit more choice, a bit more shade around the lower pool would have been helpful.

I would think that the fact that my wife and I talk about our stay at The Rocky Resort in Koh Samui a year later with positive memories is an accolade to this property. We just returned from an annual trip to Singapore (this time to Kuala Lumpur, Siem Reap & Patong Beach) and we both agree our time at The Rock was what globe trekkers hope to experience. My wife and I stayed here for a little over a week in 2004. We were delayed arriving due to flights and rang the resort in transit to let them know. The staff and manager could not have been more understanding and helpful. On arriving we were recieved with a most wonderful welcome from Luke and staff. If you are going to Koh Samui to be in the thick of the "tourist" type holiday then Rocky's Resort is not for you. However if you are looking for that little piece of Paradise then you will find it at Rocky's. From the moment you drive off the slightly frenetic ring road and enter Rocky's you will think you have entered another world. My family and I just came back from 10 days at Rocky Resort and were very impressed. We have stayed at Poppies previously and that experience was also wonderful, however Rocky offered us more privacy and tranquility being about 20 minutes from the action of Chaweng. When we felt we needed a little more of the typical tourist experience we hopped into one of the plentiful cabs or tuk tuks costing about $5-$8 US for a family of 4. We stayed at Rocky with my wife and my son (5) during 6 days end October 2006. The 1st impression when we have visited the resort was like "Whaoo !It's wonderful". After staying almost 1 week, I can give my real impressions, not just the 1st sight. Overall the hotel was very nice with extremely attentive staff. The rooms were very nice, we stayed at one of the jr suite villas by the ocean. The decor and actual rooms were very nice with southeast Asian decor, the bathroom was lovely and spacious. Our overall comments were that the location of the resort is terribly inconvenient, we are not party people but we love a good beach, and the Rocky's beach as the name suggests has a lot of rocks and pebbles and is not the picturesque white sands and clear blue water. My husband and I have been here twice for a holiday and it has been nothing but absolutely perfect. Anytime we want to relax and unwind, this is the place for us. We never tire of it. The staff are great, the food is delicious, the facilities are ideal and I could go on and on and on. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

My husband,I and our 3 year old stayed here this summer in a delux villa. The villa backed on to one of the main roads in Koh Samui so the noise from traffic was more or less constant all day and all night. Demolition work had also just begun on some of the bungalows which we had been told on booking would not be happening till later in the month! The pool and beach area were therefore very noisey also.
