Just go. A bit off the beaten path...

Just go. A bit off the beaten path but completely worth the effort to get there. Beautiful setting fantastic staff and restaurants serving food fit for the King of Thailand.
Facing west so every day you get to see the sun fall into the sea before heading off to the bar for a sundowner.
If your looking for night life go to Koh Samui...if you want to unwind let Amari take care of you!

This was a brilliant hotel all round. We arrived hot and bothered after a coach journey of 5 hours from Bangkok, ferry crossing approx. 1 hour and taxi from ferry, and were greeted by a cold fragrant flannel, iced water, and comfy chairs.
The friendly receptionist dealt with all our checking in requirements whilst we relaxed, and then escorted us to our large sea view room with balcony.
The whole resort is beautifully laid out, and is in a 'paradise' setting, right on the beach, with a 50m lap pool and a spa pool. Several restaurants give a wide choice of cuisine.
The breakfasts were very tasty, and the staff friendly, solicitous and polite.
This is the ideal hotel for just chilling out, and was a great end to our holiday, after the travelling (we visited Chiang Mai) and hectic stay in Bangkok.
We hired a car and saw the island, stopping to enjoy an elephant trek into the jungle where we could feed and help wash the elephants - a highlight of the trip.
The island is quite small so if you like to rush about you might find it a bit quiet - but there are opportunities to scuba dive, kayak, and take trips to neighbouring islands if you wish.
All in all we had a great time on Koh Chang at the Amari Emerald Cove resort and would thoroughly recommend it.
