excellent hotel rooms are in fully furnished self contained chalets in beautiful gardens right on the beach. hotel meal prices are expensive for the area. we paid for buffet style brekfast on arrival so we could have our breakfast incidently the breakfast resturaunt over looks the beach so we could plan our day. there is a small village about 3/4 of a mile from the hotel with bars and very cheap resteraunts. hotel is a taxi ride from cha-am don't miss the elephant ride

My husband and I spent eight days at the Regent Cha'am, after three very busy days in Bangkok - it was a very welcome relaxing time.
The hotel itself is a little dated compared to some of the others in the area (the Dusit, Hilton etc) but it makes up for this with the excellent staff, good range of restaurants and the three pools.
We decided to upgrade to a room in the Regency Wing, which had two double beds, a garden view and a large balcony. The Regency Wing has a separate pool which seems newer than the others in the resort and is lovely and large with a separate rock Jacuzzi and loads of loungers.
Not once did we have to worry about not getting a place by the pool, so much so, no one seemed to get up early to reserve spaces. For most of our holiday no matter what time of day we arrived by the pool we could always get prime spots with umbrellas.
The hotel provides a regular minibus shuttle to Hua Hin which is approx 20 minutes drive away and has lovely restaurants and food stands and is busier than nearby Cha'am.
I would recommend a visit to the pier for fresh seafood, we picked the busiest one and over ordered - rock lobster, red snapper and king prawns - far too much to eat but costing less than £10.
The hotel's restaurants shouldn't be overlooked; the seafood and Italian ones were our favourites.
Overall, at the time we visited the hotel was a perfect place to relax and chill following the manic time in Bangkok and is only a three hour transfer. All staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
We would probably revisit the hotel.

Had a fantastic time, really love this place. Right on beach.
In the evenings, there is a small village to the left, had lovely meals around there. Also in Hotel does a shuttle bus to Hua Hin, which is full of life, just far enough away. Night market there is great to eat in, fish barbequed in front of you, lovely atmosphere there.
Understand that the hotel is now re-named Holiday Inn, and they have made a lot of changes, but it is in a lovely area, and we would go again and again.....
