Friendly staff and clean hotel
from Pinkism
Lovely hotel set in new area of Marrakech, hence some building work evident around the hotel (see pictures) but did not interfere with our stay. Hotel clean, domestic staff always busy moping floors etc and they changed all toiletries, towels and bedlinen everyday with a smile. Towels were a litle past their best but still adequate and floors a little grubby in places but this is due to the tile flooring being difficult to maintain. Shower was hot and powerful which was a pleasant surprise. Staff friendly and accomodating, some...

Small but friendly
from scouser79
A small but friendly hotel situated in Gueliz - 10 minutes from the main square of Marrakech (in the relatively new part of the City) the hotel plus point was the restaurant which was excellent. A meal for 4 with 2 bottles of wine (fantastic food) was less than £100 for all of us - it was well presented. The pizza was also freshly made in a wood burning stove and were to die for. The hotel itself was small with a very small pool at the back of the hotel. The bathrooms are in serious need of an update with a poor shower. All rooms are air...

Perfectly acceptable
from Lutongirl
We stayed at the hotel for four nights recently. It was clean and the staff were polite enough but I don't really understand why previous reviewers have given the hotel an average of 4.5 out of 5. Either my expectation of the hotel was too high or the standard of hotels in Morrocco isn't too great! The staff were good enough to give us our room key an hour earlier than check-in and sorted the small room out to accomodate our two children without any trouble. I disagree with some previous reviewers who said the breakfasts at the...

update from Feb review: great restaurant
from RocketRay
Had occasion to return to Marrakech and stayed at le Caspien again. The A/C was a big relief after a short hike from the train station. In the evening, after looking for a nice restaurant, I decided to see what the hotel had to offer and I was quite impressed. It was like a nice French bistro, but at 1/3 or less of the cost.
Nice Little Hotel
from mmfun
We were initially disappointed with this hotel because the room and bathroom were so small and we were booked for 3 nights. The pool area is also very small, and is really a focal point from the restaurant/bar area. The hotel staff though was wonderful and they completely won us over. By the time we left this was our favorite hotel in our 15 days in Morocco. Everyone went out of their way to be helpful. The front desk was particularly helpful in calling a neighborhood spa (Belle) to set up a massage. It was great being able to...

Ideal for short stay
from WestH
I was looking for a small hotel, not too expensive, in Gueliz (the New Town) for a short stay. I had stayed in riads in Marrakech previously but wanted somewhere away from the Medina, just for quick getaway when traffic is bad (which is frequent in Marrakech). Came across Le Caspien and booked direct via phone & email (www.lecaspien-hotel.com). Couldn't have been easier and the hotel is exactly as described in other reviews and on website. Staff were very nice and helpful (if they didn't know, they asked someone who would know). Rooms clean...

Nice Hotel
from LizzieWare
Great budget hotel with aircon in bedrooms, (Much needed!) They don't take travllers cheques in hotel or most of the places we tried but change Dollars & Pounds et , great sevice! Very Pretty and clean hotel with nice staff mostly french speaking. Small pool but it was still lovely never got busy. A little secret top floor 7 is a terraces with sun louges, No one esle was up there, so take a dip jump in the lift and grab some sun as the pool becomes shaded in afternoon. Great food and drinks, Plus there's a small shop...

A Reasonable Hotel
from Charlwood
A very quiet central hotel with friendly staff & good French Cuisine. The hotel is situated in a side road off one of the main thoroughfares, and is very clean, the rooms a little on the smallside but with a very efficient air conditioning system, towels were not very robust just adequate & only one plastic drinking/toothbrush mug. Bed linen spotless with rose petals spinkled on the pillow. The restaurant served very good 'French' food with the option of made to order pizzas, or Thai food. Breakfast was a little repetitive with just breads,...

Quiet, restful Le Caspien
from A TripAdvisor Member
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, at the end of a 3 week visit to Morocco. Had been in Marrakech earlier on and stayed in a riad in the medina, which is a wonderful experience, but coming at the end of the trip, Le Caspien was a treat. It was by far the best hotel we'd stayed in in Morocco. The service was good, the room was excellent (need better lamps by the bed to read by), clean sheets, clean bathroom, great bathtub (lots of desert sand to wash out) and quiet. There are great local cafes for breakfast, tea and whatever, good...

Nicely located hotel
from pijak
Quite a new hotel (so much so that some of the cab drivers didn't know where it was) located in the centre of the French quarter, just about walking distance from the Medina, or about £1.20 in a cab. It's very local for most of the best French and international cafes and restaurants, and being located just off the main road into the Medina makes it easy to find on your way back from the old town. The staff were helpful with some knowledge of English, the room was clean, bright and well decorated with a nice balcony. There's a couple of...
