" H10 Playa Blanca "

Nice hotel, great staff, helpful and interested.Food varied plentiful, themed evenings nice touch.Room reasonable, better quality of furniture at the Rubicon, bidet missing in the bathroom,in fact bathroom needed updating.2 main critisisms,H10 Estepona/Timanfaya swimming pools freezing, why is it so difficult to heat them.Very limited english speaking channels on TV,considering the number of english speaking guests in the hotel.Lovely grounds, great location, sea views.Would consider a return visit.

Unhappy with the hotel we originally booked we moved here independently on the strength of the reviews on this site. We were not disppointed. Our family room was very spacious for us and our 2 girls - 12 and 4 yrs. Staff were friendly, food was very good as was the kids club and the fab Mini Disco for the kids in the evening. The public areas of the hotel were well appointed, the other guests of the very nice variety and there was lots of room and beds around the pool. Shame about the weather which could have been better and certainly much less windy, but overall we managed to salvage a good 5 days there of our original week.
To be honest though, I probably wouldn't choose Lanzarote again as a destination.
For the best meal out, walk down to Casa Pedro by the harbour to sample their freshly cooked fish and good wines.

" To cut a long story short - my... "

To cut a long story short - my husband`s aftershave went missing from our room and despite reporting it immediately (assuming an accidental breakage) the management team accepted absolutely no responsibility for the incident.
On our return we wrote to H10 Head Office in Barcelona but they do not appear to have grasped the seriousness of our complaint; that a hotel of such calibre cannot deal with an easily diffusable situation.
As a consequence, we will NEVER return to H10 or recommend them - despite being offered our choice of room allocation when we next return........I don`t think so!!!
We certainly expect our possessions to be safe in a 4 star hotel after paying £1200 for the privilege.

Have just spent 2 wonderful weeks at the Timanfaya with my husband and 3 children aged 2-8. The staff are very friendly and it is in a great location with beach, supermarket and restaurants close by and the centre of Playa Blanca is only a 10 minute walk away. My only criticisms would be that there is not enough staff in the restaurant at breakfast time - we frequently had to ask for coffee, cutlery etc and the pools were freezing. The entertainment for both adults and children is very good. We will definitely return.

Really good 4* hotel in a superb location. We loved to walk along the promenade during the day and evening. It takes about 15 mins to walk to Playa Blanca.
Rooms were spacious and very clean although a little tired looking. Hotel staff were friendly. Breakfast and dinner are buffet style with good quality food and lots of choice especially breakfast. Excellent value for money, we paid just £542 for both of us for half board plus flights which were about £121 each. We have paid more in the past to go self catering in a budget apartment.
All in all excellent value for money and would definitely return.

The Hotel was recommended to us and exceeded expectations. Everything about it was super. Staff were very friendly, room’s excellent, food terrific with lots of choice and themed evenings. Pool and gardens could not be better. Outside bar and restaurant were excellent. The bars were good with excellent service and fair prices. The Hotel is in a superb location, quiet and peaceful with good views and just a fifteen minute stroll along a picturesque promenade to the pleasant resort of Playa Blanca. We loved it and will be returning as soon as we can.

Excellent Hotel, as are all the H10's we've stayed in. Went in June 04 with just my 5yr old daughter. Hotel is very clean, efficient and great staff. Food is good, quite a bit of variety with themed nights. Children’s Club and entertainment is excellent for the little one’s - my daughter loves it there. Excellent pools, good location, great weather - what more do you need.

The H10 Playa Meloneras in Gran Canaria is just that little bit more special (it’s a five star), very similar facilities but with a great Spa, a little more variety at the evening buffet and recently built so everything is lovely and new, we’ve been to the Playa Meloneras twice already and are going back in July 04!

The best hotel we have stayed in. Staff very helpful, rooms clean and all have excellent views, food, themed, and very good for buffet style, and entertainment adequate. Not a hotel or resort for the 14-20 year age group.

20 minutes walk along a delightful foreshore, or a short 23 euro taxi ride, to the town. Bus service not the best, if you wish to visit other resorts. Try Cervantes for daytime snacks and tapas or El Homo De La Aguela.

" Timanfaya Palace Hotel was a breath... "

Timanfaya Palace Hotel was a breath of fresh air from the rush and bustle of other holidays. This holiday was a little bit more expensive than normal, but well worth paying. Savings were made in the long run regarding waiting time, quality of food, quality of staff and the whole experience was so good we are going back this year 2004 with Airtours to recapture a wonderful week of pampering.
The layout and the privacy of the facilities - the pool, the rooms and the restaurant are excellent and we had no issues with any of the services provide.
The staff were friendly and allowed us to relax in a way we have always wished for on holiday.
I would recommend the Timanfaya Palace Hotel to couples and families that prefer a quieter but still lively atmosphere.

Food – The food in the main restaurant was lovely, always a lot of choice. We liked the fact that you could sit where you wanted, it was all very relaxed. Breakfast was a bit hectic towards the end of the week, although the waiters and waitresses worked really hard the tables weren’t cleared quickly enough and sometimes you had to stand around waiting for a table to become free. The pool snack bar was a bit of a let down, not a lot of choice and we found the portions were a little on the small side and it was a bit expensive.
Entertainment - The evening entertainment was a big let down and the entertainment lounge could do with a thorough makeover, the chairs are extremely uncomfortable and do not encourage you to stay in there. The piano bar was far better. The daytime activities seemed ok but didn’t seem particularly well organised.
Hotel General - Air con throughout the hotel could be better, especially in the rooms, dining room and main entertainment lounge. It wasn’t boiling while we were there and imagine it could be unbearable in the height of summer. The pools could do with a good clean and a bit of TLC in places. Another thing we thought let the hotel down in general was the state of the windows on the main building. They were very dirty and didn’t look as though they’d been cleaned for a long time.
Area – The hotel is on the outskirts of Playa Blanca and is situated on a promenade which stretches the full length of the resort. There are a couple of supermarkets and restaurants a short walk away (about 5 minutes) and the main shops are about a 20-30 min walk away. We found it a bit hot walking far in the day so ended up venturing out mostly in the evenings. We were also told about a “Bono Bus Card” which cost 12 euros and allowed us to hop on and off the bus. We found this quite handy although the bus stop is a good 5 minute walk from reception (it’s just outside the Playa Flamingo complex next door).
All in all we had an enjoyable holiday and would return to Timanfaya Palace in the future. Despite a couple of minor niggles which can easily be put right the hotel is worthy of it’s 4 star status and I would recommend it to young and old.
