Bayview Beach Resort Hotel

This resort is absoutley fantastic, it is exactly as described, the bar in the pool was a treat. Staff were great and extremely freindly. The service is fantastic. The room was great, huge bed, good views. Restaurant area is fabulous and food divine. The taylor located in the motel does a terrific job of tayloring. We are very pleased. We were so happy with the staff and quality of this motel we will be going back next year. We stayed at the bayview beach resort, batu ferringhi from 4/9/06 to 14/09/06. regards karen & alex

We stayed at this hotel for five nights. We also upgraded our room to a Delux Sea View for an extra 80MRY per night. It was well worth it. The rooms had 8ft beds, seperate room as a shower and rooms were a very good size. The breakfast is around 47MYR per person per night, that is very expensive and down the road you can get a full breakfast for 8-12MYR. My advice is to go out for it. The pool area etc is lovely and it is on the beach. The beach in Batu Farringi is not the cleanest but you have the pool. The only downfall is that it is at the very top of the resort, about a 20 minute walk down to the centre. Fine but when it is raining, it is not so good. Taxis are only 6MYR so you take them everywhere. Penang is very cheap for food etc and I would recommend this hotel. It is a very good three star, more like a four star.

We stayed here for 7nights and really loved it, we upgraded our room to a side seaview room which cost an extra 50ringitt per night and was well worth it the view was amazing. The hotel is very nice with a great pool and pool bar and plenty of sun lounges. Its within walking distance to all the night markets and restaurants and everything is close by. The rooms were nice and the hotel and the staff were fabulous. We'd definatley stay here again.

The level of service that we experienced at the bayview was fantastic. I found that anything that i needed was sorted quickly and efficiently. The hotel was near a strip of restaurants. The boatman restaurant has great food at great prices and the coldest beer. The ferrenghi view cafe opposite the bayview is great for service with a smile. The sunken bar in the pool is a nice touch. Great hotel, fantastic value.

I am a travel agent and therefore visit a lot of hotels. Am now living in Penang and decided to treat myself and a friend to a short break at Batu Ferringhi. I picked the Bayview as it was really good value for money, if booked through USA web site of Octopus Travel. Booked for a seaview room and was upgraded to a seaview suite- that was a lovely surprise. The bedrooms are well furnished. The beds very comfortable and the bathroom had a great power shower and all was spotlessly clean. Although the Hotel was busy, the staff were great, the hotel never seems crowded as there is always space in the grounds to sunbath and the pool is a good size, with separate children's area and meditation pool. Buffet breakfast was excellent, wide choice of food, inc malay and western. I can really recommend this hotel.. I rate it HIGHER than the Golden Sands [which i have stayed in numerous times on business]

Arrived to find we'd been upgraded to a beautiful room looking out directly over the bay. Great bathroom, spotless with big walk in shower, and huge bedroom with double-double bed. Reception probably the most efficient and friendly we've ever met. Good gardens, best to get loungers under the trees by the beach unless you're an avid sun worshipper (note that guests adopt the "put your towels out before breakfast" system. For dinner walk to Jasmines (10min), the best Indian (and Chinese) food we've ever had at £3 a dish.

This is the 2nd year we have stayed there, last year we stayed 4 nights on our way back from Australia. We liked it so much that this yearwe stopped 9 nights on our way back from New Zealand. We had a great room (described as deluxe). The room cost us £16 a night including breakfast,fantastic value (special deal through Malaysian airlines which included free return flights from KL airport). The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the pool area and gardens were perfect for relaxing.

We stayed at the Bayview beach resort for 6 days over Christmas, with our two little girls aged 7 and 9. I had read the reviews before going and felt very nervous at what to expect after reading about the hygiene etc at the Bayview. However I can say that when we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised! The room was spacious and immaculate, furnished to a reasonably high level and very clean and modern throughout. The bed was the biggest we had ever seen(probably the double the size of a kingsize here in the uk!!), and there were two nice balconies on either side. Room service was very good and cleaned up very well each day. The choice of breakfast menu was superb, with lots of variety and very tasty food. We ate out most of the time, so didn't get much chance to sample the food at other times. The pool is gorgeous, with a lovely garden area to relax in. The beach is ok, but we were not happy with the idea of there being pony rides on the beach because of the mess left, but the kids enjoyed them! The kids club had good facilities and the staff at the time we were there, were kind and caring towards the children. Staff were always polite and friendly and please do keep some small notes to tip them accordingly. Close to the hotel, is the fabulous night market, where you can buy cds, dvds and many other interesting things at a fraction of the uk price. Please do bargain though as everything is highly overpriced to start with. All in all, we really recommend the Bayview if you go to Penang as it is a really comfortable and nice place to stay.

it was an amazing trip for us to stay there..the employees are friendly and courteous.The roomrate is affordable. We will come back to stay in the bayview beach resort!!!

On arrival not too impressed by the room itself, the furniture looked pretty old, however the bathroom area was superb. It looked as though it had been installed that morning it was so new looking and clean. Bathroom with shower and toilet, sink area outside and huge walkin shower which was very powerful. We had a balcony in our partial sea view room. We had breakfast in hotel one day but found it cheaper and easier to walk 5 mins down the road to get a proper "English breakfast" with real bacon!!! Pool area was good with swim up bar in centre - no problems getting sunbeds. Location was good, right opposite a convenience store and internet cafe. It was a five minute walk to the start of the main area of restaurants and night markets so you got to see everything on the way down. We met people on a tour staying at Grand Plaza and they had to change rooms twice!
