Pangkor Laut Resort Hotel

No doubt, Pangkor Laut is a beautiful spot and a very nice resort. We enjoyed our holidays - until the last day. On the last day - theft from the locked room, which was also locked as we returned from the beach. Has been done by somebody who had access to the room keys, almost surely somebody from the hotel stuff, who new that we would be leaving on the next day. My mother is Chinese Malaysian so I had heard about this resort from my relatives. I decided to get married there because I wanted a beach wedding, and Pangkor Laut is only one of a handful of resorts in Malaysia where you get a legal wedding ceremony actually on the beach. The resort provided a wedding organiser, Mr Zainal, who was very gracious & helpful at all times. We went to Pangkor Laut Resort for our honeymoon. We spent 9 days there. We had never heard of the place prior to searching on the internet and what a wonderful find it was! This place is truly paradise. We could not find one tiny fault. We originally booked a beach villa, but were upgraded to a spa villa free of charge. Stayed 10 nights in the Spa Village Overwater Villa. Room & Facilities Excellent, especially the Bath. Room Service Excellent. Staff were Really nice & Friendly, could not do enough for you. The 3 Restaurants I would Rate as follows 1) Uncle Lims Chinese 2) Sumardra Malaysian 3) Fishermans Cove Emerald Bay was Beautiful & quiet, but expect occasional Tree Snake or Monitor Lizard. Simply brilliant ! Some reviewers are expecting too much. Travelled all around the world and can easily say: - brilliant hotel and destination for up to 7 nights. If you are expecting to do much then go somewhere else. - the spa and the treatments are exceptional. - prices are very competitive. For a destination hotel on a secluded island they could have lynched you with the prices especially the food. Very good value for money. What a resort !Great food. I loved the hill villa we were staying at. Service is absolutely great. While lying on the beach they come around with cold water, then again with fresh orange juice. I definately loved the resort and will definately be back after I saved some money , ..lol. I would recommend the resort to everyone. We saw monkeys and beautiful birds as well. A purely exquisite island with a breathtaking back-drop of trees,shrubs and differing fauna. Emerald Bay as part of this resort is also a picture. Stayed 9 nts March/ April 2005 and came away having experienced peace and tranquility. Our stay was in a Spa Villa allowing us the privacy of Spa Village(no children under 16). We stayed at Pangkor Laut for 3 night in February 2005. We had a garden villa since the beach villas were taken. The location of the garden villa nice and we had visits from peacocks aand hornbills on the balcony. The only drawback was that it was located a bit to near the tennis courts and the view was not that great. The room was perfect and we especially loved the tub. On my birthday we booked dinner on "Dinner on the rock" which is located on Emerald Bay. The food was all fish but very good prepared. The also had live music. These 3 guys... more

We have just returned from 10 days at Pangkor Laut and i can say it exceded our expectations. We stayed in a sea villa and the sound of the waves in the morning was so relaxing. The food at all the restaurants was very good, i enjoyed the sumatra the most and fishermans cove the least. The food was also a lot cheaper than i expected which meant we could spend more in the spa. The beach was stunning and so quiet, You had the place to your selves most of the time. But the staff made all the difference, first class.
