Berjaya Redang Beach Resort

The basic (standard) rooms were a little tired, run down and dark due to the lack of light coming in, but would have been acceptable (and I’m very fussy). It had a king bed, which is important to us, and it was perfectly clean. The old standard rooms are all being upgraded/renovated now, and will be twice the size (and probably price!) when finished in about 2 years. This is an excellent resort by all means, however it has its flaws : we didn't receive a welcome drink upon arrival. There was construction in the lobby which was very noisy (should be done by Sept 08). Not enough towels in the room. Also, the bathroom sink had this horrible odor underneath. Be aware, the food is not only expensive, but not very good at all! I ordered a burger n fries upon arrival after a 3 hr flight, and got something that didnt even come close to a burger. just back from this lovely hotel in redang- we upgraded our room on arrival to a seaview and although you had lots of steps to climb it was worth it as the view was just beautiful. The food was really nice in all the restuarants but was a bit on the pricey side compared to our second stay on this island in the laguna resort redang The beach was so lovely and very relaxing. we went on the hotel snorkelling trip which is a must... so many different fish as well as stingrays and turtles. Stayed from 2nd to 5th of May. Me, my girlfriend, friend and his wife took a flight from Singapore Selatar Airbase to Redang. The flight is only about 1 and 1/2 hr to Redang Island itself. Berjaya resort has arranged for a pickup from the Airport back to the resort. Journey from Redang Airport to the Resort is only about 5 minutes bus ride. We stayed at the Berjaya Beach for five nights at the end of April. Best setting for a hotel I have ever been to. We payed extra for a seaview room and were so pleased we had. The views are just stunning and the room was perfectly clean and comfortable - no complaints at all. Quite a hike up to the room, but you can call for a buggy if you are not up to it - we didn't bother and soon got used to it despite being on the top floor! Just got back from the Redang Berjaya beach resort and want to go back it was that good. First of all the staff are really nice and helpful with lots of smiles. Accommodation was really well laid out and had all the little things that make holidays special. We stayed in the hill top sea view and I loved the way they use a blind between the bathroom and lounge(see pic) area so when having a bath you can raise the blind and have a great view out over the resort and the wonderful ocean scenery(see pic). This property sits on the most beautiful beach I've been to---pure white sands and crystal blue water. We chose to stay in the newly renovated Seaview rooms and it was worth every ringgit. The room was very comfortable and the view was to-die-for. It was modern and clean, though a bit of a hike to the beach and restaurants. My boyfriend & I went right after the monsoon season had ended. We booked a 6D/5N package,that included a direct flight from Subang (KL) to the island. Berjaya Airline is rather old, but it got us there just fine(1 hour-ish from KL). They picked us up from the airport on the island and check in was a breeze! They upgraded us to the Hill View rooms(we had booked Garden Chalets) and we got the view of the turquoise sea as well and it was breathtaking! Secluded beach, clear waters, excellent snorkeling. Resort is far from the maddening crowd. If you wish to have great night life, don't go here. But if you want a clean 3 star hotel to stay in, this is it. If you wish to go snorkeling, hire a local company rather than the resort's own. You'd save a lot of money and get a more personalised approach to your experience. Also, go to the little 'restaurant' just outside the entrance of the resort, it'll be a good deal more authentic Malay cuisine.

We have stayed in this resort for 4 days 3 nights from Mar16 to Mar19, a short getaway trip with my hubby shortly after our wedding. Booked this through Berjaya, the package is especially worth it since we got it during the NATAS fair promo. Berjaya has their own plane and there's bus transfer to and from airport. Majority of the travellers that stayed there are foreigners (Caucasians, Japanese, Koreans), very few locals. You would see more locals over at the other resorts at Pasir Panjang.
