Quality Hotel Reviews

A reasonably priced Hotel that is in a great location. We stayed on the 15th floor and the views were fantastic. The rooms are quite basic but the bathrooms are clean and KL is such a great city to explore, you won't be spending much time in your room. Breakfast is buffet... more

Not too much Quality
Despite its name the hotel is not too much quality. Room looked slightly scruffy and dirty. But I admit it was designed to be a good one, but these days are gone. Breakfast was very good but unfortunately this is the only positive thing. WiFi Internet costed MYR 1.5 (USD 0.5) per minute (!) or MYR 60 (USD 17) per day. At the checkout I have realized that the room price on Expedia was without VAT so I had to pay more. I have came back to KL on my way back from Thailand and chosen a different hotel - much cheaper, much cleaner and with free Internet. Managers of the hotel, please do not play VAT games and make the rooms cleaner, this is easy, just have some love to a job you do. This is my first negative review on TripAdviser.
Attitude Problem
We happened to Stay There for 3 nights in this hotel.Location is good, room are ok but the attitude of the staff is so horrible.I was late by 5 mintes for the break fast and i was not given brakfast and they literally took everything out while i was there.I strongly recommend and feel that the staff shd know how to traet a customer and rather get trained first before they face the customers.....and more over they carry an attitude which bugged me like anything!!!!!!
Cheap, noisy, and badly in need of refurbishment
I stayed at this hotel for 4 days in April 2007, booked through an airline package. Although the airline promised us a 4 star hotel, it is questionable how this particular hotel achieved that status. The rooms are quite spacious and clean, but the decor was dreary and everything looked worn. The bathrooms were functional and clean, but again far from what one would expect in a 4 star hotel. The breakfast (included in our package) was ok, but lacked variety, and the menu was exactly the same every day. We didn't have any other meal there so I can't comment on the quality of the restaurants. There was one staff member at the counter who was rather rude and incompetent, but other than that the staff was friendly and helpful. The location was quite good, walking distance to Sogo shopping mall, only RM6 by taxi (easily flagged down in front of the hotel) to Bukit Bintang malls and Petronas Towers, KL Tower etc, and RM8 to Mid Valley Mega mall. The main problem we faced was being woken up regularly throughout the night every night by a strange loud noise that we suspected was caused by faulty pipes. Every time someone opened a tap in the hotel it made an enormous racket. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a 4 star experience, nor to any light sleepers, though it's fine for someone looking for a budget option in a good location.
Very bad experinece staying at this Hotel, Lili and family from Sweden
We are a famliy of 2 adults and two teenagers who booked two rooms for the period of March 2-5 at this Hotel. We were in Thialand for vacation and wanted to stay 3 nights at KL on our way home and explore the city. Staying at this Hotel was a nightmare. The line and towels were dirty and dusty, it was a strange smell in the rooms and the cups and glasses were dirty and dusty. we asked the housekeeping to change them, but the new ones were not better. This Hotel, lines, furnitures needs a real make-over. We would not recommend this Hotel to anyone.
Good budget hotel in a great location
We checked into this hotel with no prior expectations as we were just going to use it to shower and sleep in. We spent our days sight-seeing and shopping. The hotel is located just walking distance from one of KL's biggest shopping malls, various eateries and smaller stores. Taxi's are easily available outside. The only negative was a musty smell that came from the hallway carpet near the elevators.(the room was clean with no smell what so ever). Food was alright, and the buffet breakfast was great. If you are travelling with kids on a budget, this is a great option. The twin beds in our room were big enough for one adult and one child each. So with my eight and five year old, we didn't have to ask for an extra bed. Overall, worth staying here for the convenience of location and budget. Indian Traveller
This is a god hotel
My family and I just got back from staying at this hotel for 5 days. I had read some bad reviews about this hotel so I was quite worried about our choice. My family ( 3 teenage girls and husband )all thought it was fine it is clean and tidy yes the halls do have a musty smell but the rooms don't.Every day house keeping made up our rooms fresh towels ect our girls are very messy but their rom was tidied ever day ( poor people ). Tan arranged a driver to take us on our tours his name was danny we highly recomend him.Tan gave us directions for using the public transport he was very help full. The only thing that was negative is the safe did'nt work and it is not secured to any thing any way so you woul'nt use it.This was my first time travelling over seas and I was very happy with this hotel for the money
In need of refurbishment
Due to the fact that we had 2 children aged 13/11 travelling with us our agent could only come up with this hotel as it had two double beds.Unfortunately it is in desperately in need of a make over. Even the reception was poor with torn wallpaper and noisy foyer. Our room left alot to be desired food left in fridge from prior occupancy. Smelly carpet, dirty bathroom. I was glad to leave. If anyone knows of any hotels in Kuala Lumpur that does take two children/two adults pleast post it on a review.
Bad experience in KL
When we entered the room there was a dirty garbage smell, the bathroom was filthy, the bathroom sink looked as though it had never been cleaned. The bed was extremely hard and the linen and towels were yellow and stained. The curtains were grey, the telephone was broken, conversations and toilets flushing could be clearly heard, and an overall dirty feel to the room. We checked out before spending the night.
Good location, large rooms but a little let down
After stopping in the same chain in Singapore, this hotel was a slight let down. The standard rooms were lovely and large, with a nice bay window, massive queen sized bed, excellent bathroom and everything you could need. The negative side of our stay was a broken safe, dirty carpet (which just needed a decent vacumn), musky smell from the aircon unit, noise from the pipe work above that occasionally woke me (requested room change but was told that all rooms same). Found some cockroaches around the bathroom which didn't really bother me (but did the girlfriend). Also the bedding and two pillows did smell slightly (basically an unclean musky smell). Not wishing to really be too negative about this hotel as the location was great, breakfast buffet very respectable. The staff could have been a little more friendly and polite. If you have booked this hotel then don't worry too much, but I would advise to inspect your allocated room before you agree to accept it. Even if you request a maid to re-clean the room.
Was a cool hotel.
I stayed at the Quality Hotel last week - June 2005. It was a good hotel. The bed was of course a king size bed and it was a fairly decent sized room. I could see the swimming pool from my window which was nice. They've got quite a small swimming pool and no life guard on duty but it wasn't busy at all so it was good to have a nice quiet swim. The gym was small but had all the basic equipment that you need for a workout. They also offer a massage service at less than RM100. That's around £15. Affordable but not cheap! But they can come to your room to do the massage if you don't want to go to them - 3rd floor. Breakfast was well varied. All sorts of Malaysian and European dishes. The staff responded well when we said that the tea was finished and they made a cup of tea for us and brought it to our table. The reception staff were polite and they also offer a free shuttle bus that takes you to the must go places like China town - so many cheap things to buy there and KLCC - massive shopping complex but not cheap prices. It's fairly central. But a lot of hotels are nearer to KL Central that this hotel. It's got quite a few shopping centres in that area itself. The nearest monorail station is Medan Twanku. I think that it's a good hotel. Maybe not the best but still fairly good and if you not going to be in your room all the time - i mean who does in Kuala Lumpur and you are looking for an affordable hotel it's a cool hotel to stay at. Hope this helps!
dated
our first visit to kl,but unfortunatley the hotel was a disapointment compared with other hotels in the far east, its not the cleanest,we asked for the bedding to be changed before we moved in.the reception staff was more interested in selling guided tours which was highly inflated compared to others.this did not detour us from enjoying a marvelous city.
