Gran Hotel Guadalpin Banus

This hotel is very nice and is finished to a high standard. The rooms are lovely although ours was a little small but the large terrace made up for it. The pool area is very nice and everywhere was clean and tidy. There are about 5 restaurants but they are all very expensive so we didn't eat at the hotel (eg 7 euros for a fresh orange juice!) The pool bar was reasonable and also did food which was good. We stayed here over the new year holiday and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A good 5 star hotel, friendly staff and excellent amenaties. The choice on the breakfast buffet was one of the best we have ever seen. It's is a bit isolated from the main resort, still only a 10-15 minute walk though. The hotel also provides a bus to it's sister hotel which has the spa. Would probably return again

My girlfriend and I stayed there in the first week of August, booking it back in January. I encountered some problems when I confirmed the booking with the hotel, room type and board, but after some emails with the very helpful reservation staff this was sorted out before our arrival. I agree with all the comments that hotel is beautiful, rooms have great views and private terraces, it was recently built, it's right on the beach,...only if: - you don't buy a standard room, because you will never see the sea, as the room will face the next building or the wall of it; - you don't stay close to elevator to hear all the movements through the door not soundproof; - you don't want to take a nap at noon, because the room cleaning lasts until 4-5pm; - you don't decide to go on the beach after 11am, because... more

We decided to book this hotel for our honeymoon, however on reading the reviews we decided to cancel our room. After thinking it over we decided to take the chance and go, luckily enough we managed to get the room back and we were so happy that we did! It was a junior delux suit with two balconies, one with a jacuzzi and an amazing view! Stayed there with my two young kids during the last week of July 2006. A really nice and enjoyable stay. We had a Banus Suite with amazing views, it was very modern, well kept and high tech. The floor to ceiling windows directly overlooking the beach are really something. I have visited Puerto Banus on several occasions before, and as this hotel is new, tried it this year. I have just returned from staying at this hotel and how i wish i had found this site before i went. The hotel is very noisy and not sound proofed and i did not get a wink of sleep the entire time i was there. for £200 a night you expect somewhere you can get a good nights sleep. the rooms themselves are wonderfully clean, tidy, and small. BUT, they are not that much better than a holiday inn or travellodge. the beds are small and fairly hard, there is not much room to move around the bed, the wardrobe is miniscule. the best... more

Having read the only review of this fabulous hotel I felt the need to comment. I've stayed at both this hotel and the sister hotel the Gran Hotel Guadalphin Marbella many times and they are sublime. They are elegant without being ostentatious and the Gran Hotel Banus in particular is the epitome of beachside chic. We stayed there in Aug 05. Hotel is beautiful! Rooms have great views and private terraces. It was recently built so everything is new and clean. Its right on the beach and you dont have to pay for it, unlike most other beaches. Puerto Banus is only 5-10 min away by cab. Food was not the best, but we enjoyed going to different restaurants in Puerto Banus. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.

In my opinion some of the previous comments about this hotel are a little harsh. The hotel has many positive points. 1. Good location - the hotel is located on the beachfront and is only a short walk away from Puerto Banus. 2. The rooms are very spacious, clean and most have good views 3.
