We have just returned from hotel Riu Paraiso Lanzarote it has been a most enjoyable holiday.
The staff were very pleasant and very helpful. Room was excellent very clean and the chamber staff very good.
Food excellent. The entertainment was not very good and could be improved otherwise everything was exceptional.
Strongly recommend the accommodation and will be going back again this year.

I must admit I was a little apprehensive going to the hotel after reading some of the comments, but I am pleased to report its was excellent!
My first AI holiday and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Thomson flights were great, especially on the way out. The hotel is great, we had a room in the older part, but had no problems what-so-ever, yes there is some flaking paint in some areas of the hotel, but everything is clean.
The food is good, lots to choose from. I can recommend the Asian restaurant (Chinese) though, please book ASAP, we only just managed to get it, and it only appeared to be open Tues through to Thurs, when we were there.
Plenty of drinks to choose from and all the bar staff, in fact all the hotel staff were very friendly.
Entertainment was good and lots to do in the day, if you wanted to join in.
The newer part seemed much more subdued in the evening; with a piano duo playing and people sitting around have quiet drinks. The older side is where it all happens!
Plenty of sunbeds, even later in the day, obviously the best ones are bagged early (need I say more)
My first visit to Lanzarote, I will certainly be returning.

Everything in about this hotel was fantastic. The food, snacks, drinks, the al a carte restaurant.
The pools were clean, pool bar superb! If you’re looking for a quite stay go for the part of the hotel you go over the bridge, ask when booking.
One week usually is enough for me but not at this hotel, would have stayed for another week. I would highly recommend it, so go for it.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was clean and spacious, and the service and food were very good.
The idea of the speciality restaurants are a great idea, we dined in them a few times.
We had a really nice holiday the hotel was in a nice quiet area of Puerto Del Carmen, finding it easy to use the bus service to get to town (1 euro each on the bus) where there are lots of shops and bars.
It was our 3rd visit to Lanzarote and decided 3 yrs ago to make this our winter destination, unfortunately we were hounded by time shares in the town especially the Old town, it was awful. It is a shame and we most definitely wont be going back now.
The area of Matagorda is just a bit too quiet for us but it is a really nice destination for someone looking for a peaceful holiday.
The Rui chain hotels live up to your expectations but are occupied mainly by Dutch or German people, who some we found quite rude.
The hotel staff asked us not to reserve a sun bed, but this made no difference and by the 3rd day, we found we also had to reserve a bed, otherwise we wouldn’t have had anywhere to sunbathe.
The menu was also geared up mainly for the German palette but as I eat anything anyway, I wasn’t bothered.
I don’t think I would go all inclusive again as I found it too repetitive, but this is my opinion and its always best to make your own.
So if you are thinking of visiting this hotel, go for it I’m sure you will have a lovely restful holiday. My husband and I are in our forties.

We are a group of 4 young girls aged from 17- 20 and arrived at the Riu Paraiso around 7pm on the 26th November and were greeted by staff in the most welcoming manner, they sent us off to dinner with our wrist bands while they arranged our check in.
The restaurant was fantastic with loads of different dishes and something for everyone, I especially loved the desserts as there was loads of chocolate. Also, try the Asian restaurant and the grill, it was nice to try something different in the hotel. The drinks were also fantastic, with wine and beer on tap and all other drinks served to us by the bar staff who always had a smile.
On our first full day we took a look around the hotel, it was massive. It is now known as a resort as it is 2 hotels joined together by a walkway and there are around 4 or 5 pools. Beware though, there are a lot of Germans who place their towels on sun beds very early.
I would not recommend this a young group of singles though as this hotel mainly had either families or older people and we felt quite out of place a lot of the time as they did tend to stare at us a lot.
There is also a spa at he hotel where you can use the jacuzzi and sauna free of charge, what did make us laugh was that it was made perfectly clear in many different languages that you must wear a bathing costume while using these, the Germans decided to ignore this rule which did make us very uncomfortable while trying to relax.
We do recommend Puerto Del Carmen to young singles though, most places try and get you in their bars by giving you free bottles of champagne and shots and drinks are buy one get one free. It's safe to say we did not have one sober night between us.
Fantastic Holiday- Best one yet.
