This has got to be the worst place I have stayed in Marmaris and was so unimpressive I left there within 30 minutes!

On arrival the room had fag ash all over the bathroom floor and there was used loo roll in the bathroom bin.

There is no lift which I can accept as many small hotels are the same. The manager stood at the bottom of the stairs and explained our room was on the 3rd floor. He told my Mum to leave her bag at the bottom of the stairs and someone would bring it to her, but they never did. He could have offered to carry it himself but I had to go and lug it up the stairs for her after carrying my own. This was not the welcome expected.

This hotel is a good 15 minute walk to the beach front but if you want a nice part of the beach its another 10 minutes again

This hotel used to be called the Unver and I was under the impression it had been refurbished but it didn't look that way to me.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Myself and my husband stayed at the unver/alba hotel and we had a fantastic time oral, oz and hugiene are great they are the main guys you will see at the bar and for your food they are very helpfull and freindly and make your holiday as enjoyable as they can they will do anything for you. the hotel manager T J is very queite but will still do what he can to help, it is a family run hotel the rooms are very basic and the showers are to be desired but they do clean your room on a daily basis and have fresh towels daily. the food is great and reasonably priced. the breakfast you get is a turkish breakfast so dont go thinking your gonna get your traditional english fry up !!!!! you can have a english breakfast if you want to at about £2.00 not bad. in fact they will cook you what you want if they have it.

Yes we would return the resort is very central to everywhere. the thursday market is right next door that is an experiance you must try!!!!!!!!

We had a great time and we will return and the end of the day you get what you pay for if you are looking at 5* then you wont want the unver/alba but if you anly use the room as a base camp somewhere to put ya head down then go for it. ENJOY !!!!

I am a 24 year old woman who is has come through student life and is used to staying in the pits when it comes to general accommodation and holiday destinations. However this hotel was the worst I have ever stayed in- for several reasons.

1. When we arrived, we didn’t get our room until the day after at 1pm, even though we had paid for it. We soon realised that this happened to most people. Hotel residents were still in our room that we had paid for.

2. We had to wait in the lobby area for our room and mice were running up the curtains. 8 other people witnessed this.

3. The lobby area was covered with flies.

4. The reception staff pretends not to speak English but they really do.

5. You cannot see the bottom of the pool as it is clouded with dirt.

6. The hotel staff consists of 4 males who are so sleazy, and at times I felt fearful.

7. The rooms are very basic. We had to do without a toilet for a day as it broke.

8. There is no shower tray- just a hole in the ground for the water and everything in the bathroom gets soaked when showering.

9. Our “balcony” door did not lock so therefore we had to put a chair against it.

I personally feel that this place is not fit to live in and I would urge you to book somewhere else.

My friend and I went to turkey for a weeks holiday in september 2007. We stayed at unver hotel. When we arrived there at 3:00 am we were told that there was not a room avaliable for another two hours, so keen to start as we meant to go on we hit the bar!!! Eventually a room became avaliable, We had to pay extra for air conditioning!! When we arrived at our room we found it had NO air conditioning so we had to wait another hour for another avaliable room with air con. I have to say apart from that we enjoyed our stay there.

A week after returning home we flew back to marmaris for a month we enjoyed it that much, We did not book a room at Unver we just turned up, the manager was quick to

take our money and we thought he would do us a good deal as we had become good friends the week before. We paid our money and setteled into our room we later found out from another 4 hotels he had ripped us off big time even thought we paid for bed and breakfast we were severly over charged. We became good friends with the staff being two 20 year old girls we enjoyed hitting the clubs with them but when we said we wanted to go out on our own they became very angry. After two weeks of staying at unver we asked to see our bill and the manager said it was a bill of £500 and would not let us see it until it was paid, We had been paying for breakfast and drinks we had NOT had. After a lot of arguments with the manager we went to our room packed our bags and left without the manager seeing us and without paying our bill.

Marmaris is a lovely place and I am looking forward to going back but would never reccomend unver hotel to anyone it is a complete joke!! For the other two weeks of our holiday we moved into a house with some other turkish friends and had a fabulous time I cant wait to go back!!!!!

When we arrived a the hotel early in the morning, we were told there was no room available for us and that we could leave our luggage with them if we wanted to go any where. We were two girls who didn't know the place. The hotel gave us food and drink whilst we complained about the room but later charged us for the food but we both got a coke free. The Goldtrail rep that left us there knew there was no room available and had words with the staff who said they would sort it and as she left explained to us that there was no room until the evening. After an hour we contacted relatives at home who contacted Goldtrail.

We contacted Goldtrail about 5 times and finally were in the room about two hours later. We tried to get the day we didn't have the room refunded yet the hotel once again told us they gave us a coke. The hotel also said we were welcome to find some where else, but we would have to pay again.

The room we were put in was the room every one nicknamed as "room 102" as during our stay 3 groups had the same problem. We were then moved to a proper room later that night. The hotel staff were friendly and we did enjoy the holiday once the ice was broken, however I was not happy with the way they treated 2 young vulnerable girls and how Goldtrail did nothing to help us either.

The staff were friendly however many of the girls found one member of staff a little too friendly and when he was warned off he often sulked. There were quite a few dramas with certain staff but they were sacked because of the problems they caused both the hotel and the guests during the weeks leading up to our holiday. Despite all of this we managed to enjoy our last 6days and get on with the staff.

There was no room for us when we arrived to 7pm. After waiting for an hour they kicked a member of staff out of a room and we got that. Unfortunately it was on the top floor; my wife has back problems and uses a walking stick so not ideal.

The cook walked out the next day and the cleaner had to cook for the hotel's Turkish night, so no room the next day. After waiting around, watching the owner have several heated arguments and making remarks to other women, we were told that we wouldn't get the room we'd been promised until after 11pm two days later.

We’d had enough by now so we packed and moved out to the Atay apartments just down the road from the Unver and we enjoyed the rest of the holiday.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The only reason we went was because it was near the market, an area we knew from previous visits.

The hotel was clean, the weather was great, however the owner was arrogant and gave the impression that the guests annoyed him and wished they weren't there. The bar staff were cheerful and fun, the breakfast was terrible, we had to go out and buy our own breakfast the whole time we were there. The cleaner was the most pleasant member of staff we encountered. We would certainly go back to Marmaris but NEVER that hotel again unless the management had changed.

The hotel was very clean although very small. The only problem about this hotel is the owner! I have never in all my life met such an arrogant, ignorant, bossy man. He sits at the end of the bar ordering the poor hardworking staff about as though they are dogs!

Speaking of dogs, would you want to swim in a pool that the owner let his dog swim in??. We had a spot of bother with him when we walked into the hotel with a bottle of water we had purchased elsewhere, he shouted and moaned that only food and drinks purchased from his bar were allowed on his premises. Ok, I can understand this to a point but not to the extreme that this guy went.

Halfway through the week he got a member of his staff to ask why we were not spending our money at his bar and going elsewhere for meals, is it any wonder!!

This place is ok if you are just after it for a place to sleep, otherwise. You have been warned.

Stayed in Unver august 2006, this hotel is ok. I would only stay here again because of the location and the Thursday market directly opposite.

The hotel itself is interesting to say the least. The pool is small but nice and clean, the bar is a lovely area to sit and the restaurant area is very nice.

The rooms were very small, but nice enough if you don’t spend much time there like me and my friend. We only use the room to sleep and change clothes really, we were always out.

The shower is an issue, its small and no shower curtain and the floors do get very slippy. We were on the top floor and there is no lift.

Some of the staff are lovely, e.g. the man who makes the food, he also carried our cases up when we arrived and brought them back down when we were leaving, he carried both of them at the same time and they were both 20kg, very impressive.

Cannot doubt the maids, they were amazing and left lovely little gifts in our room e.g. flowers.

The bar staff were ok. The owner was unhelpful.

Marmaris itself is amazing, I love it and me and my friend have been many times, would highly recommend it.

As for Unver I would stay there again yes but like I said only because of the location and Thursday bizarre. The owner is the main reason I would not go again.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Unver Hotel for a week in September 2006. The location of the hotel is great, very central to shops, bars and restaurants and the weekly market is right next door.

The hotel accommodation is basic and there is no lift in the hotel so do not book if you have problems walking or are elderly. The light switches on the stairs are timed also, so if you take a bit longer than average to reach your room, you are plunged into darkness. Very dangerous. The bathroom facilities in the rooms are dire. There is a toilet, a shower and a sink. The shower took ages to heat up, there was no shower curtain or no non-slip mats making the floor very slippery when wet.

We paid $40 for air conditioning only to find out that there wasn't an air con unit in our room. We then got a part refund in exchange for a fan but with only one electric socket in the room, we had to alternate this with charging our mobile phones, ipod speakers, hairdryer etc..... Not ideal!

The pool is quite small, but very clean and sun loungers are available free. There is a bar and a restaurant on the pool level and although not much of an atmosphere, it was keenly priced and the food was satisfactory.

Breakfast (included in our price) was typically Turkish. Hard boiled eggs, olives, cheese, cucumber, tomato, honey, bread and jam with tea / coffee or orange juice.

The owner of the hotel was not very friendly. The rest of the hotel staff were very nice and Andy the barman kept us right about places to go and things to do without being ripped off.

Would I go back to Marmaris? Without a doubt.

Would I go back to the Unver Hotel? In a word no!

I had never been to turkey before but I really enjoyed it. The only thing that puts you off is the men that try it on every minute of the day.

The hotel was brilliant not one complaint apart from when you expect an English breakfast and you get a load of salad and a boiled egg but I ate it ha! Not far from the beach and bars there is one bar and restaurant I would recommend for food and its friends next to the harbour it was brilliant and cheap!

Again at the hotel the pool was good not too big rooms cleaned every day staff excellent and always happy to help you whatever the problem was! I would recommend any1 give this hotel a go.

Visited Turkey, Marmaris earlier this month (July) with my boyfriend. Had a great, cheap holiday!

We arrived at Dalaman airport (Don't forget £10 VISA fee on arrival into the country), where our holiday began, we were bundled off onto a coach for a 2hr coach ride into Marmaris. Long, tiring trip!

We arrived at our hotel, I was a bit concerned, as I'd searched online to see if there was any reviews on our hotel - Unver - there was not. No news is good news, right?

First look of location, worrying, down a few back streets but overall look of the hotel was good. Pool right outside the main entrance, a bit small, but it's a lot deeper than you think! Not very warm, but you soon get used to it!

Rooms ok, not very big, but nice and clean, maids were lovely and the rooms were cleaned daily - The day we were leaving the maids left an envelope in our room saying 'tips for the maids, thank you X X X' bit cheeky! One problem I had was the shower. It was just in the corner of the bathroom, no shower curtain, nothing, just a grid for the water to run down in the middle of the bathroom. Rather dangerous as the floor is then extremely slippery. We hired the A/C for £3 per day. Excellent! Best money we spent! You need it! It was lovely at night, refreshing! Best part of it, no cockroaches!!! Few midges though - a few people was bitten more than you can believe. I had a few, boyfriend non! I must be tastier!

Location proved to be ok, lots of bars and shops around the area, it's hard walking around in the heat though. Bar Street and the more popular bars about 20 minute walk away, but there are lots to see on the way, if you don't fancy walking/can't taxis are cheap enough! Before 6pm!!!. We found our 'local' while we was there; OSCARS BAR, fantastic, lovely people, lovely cheap food and they had Big Brother on live! 5 Course meal 10 lira, which is approx £4! Couldn't beat it! Hectic down the little street where our hotel was located on a Tuesday night (whilst setting up) and especially a Wednesday (the day of the market, thousands of people and cars! Be careful!) At the Marmaris Market is located right opposite the hotel!

We went on the Horse Riding trip, excellent and well worth the £10 we paid for 2 hours worth of riding. I've done it before, boyfriend hasn't, was a little nervous but the instructors were excellent. Well looked after. When booking a trip, look around and DO NOT book with your rep. They're much cheaper on the

Lots to do, very nice, cheap holiday. Be warned though, you get mithered quite a bit!
