went to the seler hotel in marmaris turkey in may 2010.it was my fiannce and mothers 1st hoilday to turkey and i was gutted to say the least when we arrived.ive been 6times before and stayed in different hotels each time and this was the worst yet.no lift, family of 5 on different floors and cudnt get a ground floor for my mother no matter how much we complained.after the 3 day we had enough fighting outside the bedroom where our children were sleeping, which left them scared, when we finally got any joy we asked the rep to move us which cost us another 80 pound plus taxis fares.we were not the only people to be moved and all this because there was a scotish wedding happening that week. the staff were rude and the manager just didnt care they were to busy with the other guests.really loud music and very basic rooms.would not recommend to familys.

This was myn and my boyfriends first holiday together and if you are laid back and go to enjoy your holiday for what it is this hotel is perfect. its cheap to stay, only 5min walk to places to eat out and shops and 10min walk to beach (well stones ha). The staff are very friendly, always make an effort with you. if you are paying the cheap prices to stay in the seler hotel how can you complain the rooms are basic? they are clean, so thats the main priority, after all who spends there holiday in there hotel room. This hotel is very good for young couples who are out for a cheap but enjoyable holiday, there were several couples there when we was and we all talked during the day and had a laugh with the bar staff, the only problems me and my boyfriend had was we went expecting beer to be alot cheaper, it is ok price in the hotel and the bars around it, but if you go to marmaris centre BAR STREET! take more spending money as it is 10lira for a small local beer. i would definatly return to the seler hotel.

The only word I can use to describe this hotel is stinking. The floors are covered in insects, the showers are almost unusable. The worst thing about this hotel was the staff some were ok but some were very rude to say the least.I have been in many many hotels in my time and have never before written a review, but I felt it was my duty to tell others not to ruin their holiday by staying in this toilet. The food is stinking and freezing which is weird because the country is boiling. If you are looking to have a terrible holiday then by all means this is the place for you,but if like me you like your holiday to be a pleasurable one then I promise you you MUST BOOK ELSEWERE.

just been on holiday for two weeks, stayed at the seler hotel, we were bed and breakfast and i strongly do not recomend this hotel to anyone, the entertainment is good and some of the staff are friendly but for the rest of the hotel it was a nightmare...
first of all the breakfast was just a few pieces of bread that wouldn't even fill a child, the room's electricity did not work evey day and night and had to get some one to come fix it every time, all they done was turned a screw and it did not help one bit, the air con pipe hangs out onto the balcony and the water dripps from it onto the ground and my friend slipped and got a very bad indjury from it, if you asked the maid to come back she didnt, you got one small piece of soap which was never replaced to do you the whole two weeks and the shower water was always cold, the list could go on but i dont recomend, and i certainly wont be back.

when arriving at seler hotel we were greeted my a friendly atmosphere even tho it was only 6:30am the man at reception went out of his way to carry our bags up to our rooms (one on 2nd floor other on 3rd)
i cannot fault the staff here, they are amazing at what they do and really made the holiday worth while. They have a turkish night each thursday which consists of a meal, break dancers, belly dancers, folk dance and the 2 barmen murat and steve dancing and generally having a laugh. all this was for 18 lira (9 pnd) and you get a free drink with it, all in all a cheap night and alot of fun.,i would highly recomend this night
the pool was cleaned every night and the bar area and restaurant was always clean. the food which i tried there was lovely and big portions.
The rooms were small but clean, my and a friend shared a room which consisted of 2 twin beds, a double wardrobe (the double rooms only had a single wardrobe) dresing table and chest of drawers, we managed to unpack all our clothes and still had space left.
There are alot of mixed ages here, from young families to older couple. The music stops each night at 12 however sometimes there is a bit of noise from people chatting, although it isnt unbearable
The only down sides i can think of is that the drinks at the bar are not as cheap as you would expect and the aircon is timed... however we managed to change the timing of ours to suit us
all in all i had a brilliant stay at the seler hotel and was very sad to leave. murat, steve, vicky and all the rest of the staff deserve a big thank you for making the best of my holiday! and i will definately be returning next year!

My partner and I took our 19 year old daughter and her 21 year old friend. The rooms were small and basic but clean, they were cleaned daily along with bed linen and towels being changed daily also. When first arriving at the hotel we were a little taken aback at its basicness but this was soon overcome when we got to see how friendly the staff here were. Turkish breakfast was not to our liking - feta cheese, bread, cucumber and tomato so we ate out in the other local bars/cafes - english breakfast was rarely more than £2.00 (5-6 liras) and very nice. Blackpool Rock restaurant on beach is very friendly and great value for money, as is Cocos (waiters were great dancers and very entertaining too). Greasy Spoon cafe very nice food. Beach was a 10 minute walk away and supermarket opposite the hotel was the best exchange rate in Marmaris. A must is the lazy day boat trip, which only costs £11 including all drinks (including alcohol) and a meal. Also a must is the massage by the masseur on the beach, £12.50 for 45 minutes and worth every penny - I had 2! We made many friends at this hotel and we will definately be staying in contact with them. The food in the hotel was okay, with actually the best T-bone steak we had had in Marmaris. Many many thanks to Murat and Steve for making it such a great holiday. Unfortunately my partner and I will probably not be returning as there are so many other wonderful places in the world to visit but I know our daughter, Paris, definately will, she was very sad to leave, as we were in the end. Finally, we paid £250 each and I would say we got what we paid for.

First impression on arrival was - lets get out of here!! the room was very small with three beds crambed in leaving hardly any room to get by them. Got moved without any problem to slightly larger room - talking inches but worth the move. Breakfast basic cheese, tomatoes, cucumber and bread - no cereal or egg's unless you purchased them. Airconditioning came at a cost of £25 per week however, we purchased a fan from the local supermarket at a cost of £9 which did the job. These negative aspects of the holiday were outweighed by the positive's. Great atmosphere friendly staff - majority of guest English everyone sociable which made it easy to find someone to chat with without trying. The Seler Hotel does not have the facilities that can be found in the larger 4 star hotels but what it lacks in facilities it makes up for with bags of charicter and a great atmosphere that makes your holiday. Dont be put off by your first impressions of this hotel it will start to grow on you after the first day.
Marmaris needs to reinvent its self, it is still relying upon the same outdated entertainment - too many belly dancers, Tina Turner, Michael Jacksons impressionists and Break Dancers. The only noticeable change was the cost of Food and drinks which are more expensive than in the UK

If you are looking for very basic accomodation then this is the hotel for you. The hotel was made up of two blocks with two small swimming pools, a small pool bar complete with its own resident stray cat which slept on the bar itself. We were bed and breakfast but chose not to eat at the hotel (not even the breakfast we had already paid for) after hearing bad reports from other guests. Whilst we were there, one lady sent a steak back because it was off and waited one and half hours for a replacement meal to arrive and then gave up as she wasnt hungry any longer! There were blackboard signs in the hotel advising guests, no food or drink allowed in the rooms - Why? We paid only for B & B surely it is up to each guest if they want to eat out or in if they chose! The room - was very small but clean. It consisited of one double bed, a wardrobe, a small wooden stool and a bedside table which had a small drawer and cupboard so we lived out of a suitcase for the week. The bathroom had a shower, toilet and sink (which had no plug so we had to use a sock to plug the sink! The water from the shower didnt drain away so we stood in an inch of water to brush our teeth each day! As far as we could see, the room wasnt cleaned each day, when we arrived we were given a small hand towel and a bath towel each which we used for 3 days and on the 4th day they left us a fresh bath towel each but no hand towel! The balcony was small with 2 chairs and the warm air conditioning unit blowing on us. The Air conditioning was 25.00 GBP for the week but was only on certain times of the day and night and controlled by the hotel. the safety deposit boxes were in the reception with a master key left on the top to use with your own key (which incidentally states the hotel name and box number as does your room key) so if you lose it outside, chances are you will lose all your belongings too! We found the pool bar to be expensive, the local Efes beer on draft per pint was 4 Lira and flat (We were paying 3 Lira for a large bottle of Efes at the beach each day) and a small bottle of local Cider was 6 Lira although we didnt drink there very often. You were allowed to have a bar tab and just pay for your drinks daily or weekly but we didnt and just paid cash as we bought the drinks. We did over hear one family from the UK say they had no money to pay for their existing bar tab and were just using other peoples room numbers to get more drinks!!! We were presented with a bar bill for one tea and a bottle of water whilst we were waiting for our bus to pick us up on the last evening but advised the bar staff we would not pay for it as we had never had a bar tab and they accepted what we said.
The hotel was only 5 minutes walk from the main road in Marmaris and only 10 mins walk from the beach which has extensive hotels, bars, restaurants and clubs. for the first few days at the beach we used the free sunbeds at the Blackpool restaurant and paid 4.50 Lira for the large bottles of Efes (we did have a lovely 3 course Sunday Lunch there) but decided to walk to the other end of the beach for the last few days and found a great little restaurant with free sunbeds and the same Large bottle of Efes were only 3 Lira each complete with Ice Bucket each time you ordered. The people of Marmaris were very friendly although you might get a little bored with them trying to entice you into there pubs and restaurants. If you do eat out, try the Greasy Spoon (it doesnt live up to its name) we had a few nice meals there and the staff are dressed smartly and are friendly. If you get the chance, go on a Jeep Safari (we paid 30 Lira each), it was an excellent day out for people of all ages, you are picked up around 9am at your hotel and dropped off around 6pm. Its a great way to see some of the resort, youre taken to places of interest, given a bbq lunch and best of all you can hire water guns at the start of the trip for 10 Lira each and have water gun fights with the other 20 or so Jeeps in the convoy - but dont wear anything decent as you are soaked with water and as its dusty you get rather dirty!
We were up at 4am to be at Birmingham airport for a 5.30am checkin and arrived in Turkey mid afternoon (local time). The transfer journey from the airport to Marmaris was 1 hour 50 minutes but we stopped for a 'comfort break' for about 20 mins after an hours drive at a roadside cafe whcih was mega expensive (we paid 14 Lira for 2 cans of Efes - you can buy 6 cans for the same price in the local supermarkets). A family on our bus spent 45 Lira for 2 sandwiches and soft drinks for their two children as you dont get a meal on the flight over and their children were hungry and thristy. In my opinion, Its not a good advertisement for Turkey when you are being ripped off at the first place the tour operators take you when you arrive in the country!! Again on the way back to the airport we were picked up by the transfer bus at 11.40pm, picked up other holiday makers for over an our and then stopped off at the same cafe for another 15 mins at 1.30am - why? do the tour operators realise people are tired and just want to get to the airport and home without half the bother?
We enjoyed our holiday in Marmaris. We were very disappointed with the Seler Hotel and will not be booking to stay there again!

Great holiday, the staff made the holiday they made you feel safe.
The hotel is basic but you get what you pay for!
Don’t come thinking its like the big plush hotels its not its more like home from home, everyone’s welcoming made some very good friends to which we are all meeting next September
Food is cheap but very nice I never had a meal that a didn’t like, the drinks are good and cheap also I really cant believe how little I spent in two weeks.
Rooms always cleaned, and anything you asked for they would accommodate to.
