I went to Turkey for the 1st time in august 09 with my sister and my cousin and we stayed at club amaris. The location is brilliant, only a ten minute walk to the centre. The staff are excellent and very friendly, Eric is the funniest guy ever! the rooms were very clean- the maids make shapes out of the towels they were made into chickens and swans! air conditioning is in the bedroom and the safe is at the reception both of which you can hire. we got sunbeds for 3 people every day easily and the pool was a good size. We ate at the hotel most of the nights and the food was good. if your planning to go on trips go see jay-jay at the tetik place near the hotel, we went on the day boat trip and it was great, you get an wxcellent tan and the boat stops about 6 times so you can swim in the sea or walk around at the market, we also went on the night boat which was good too and went to the water park. You have to eat at the hotel next door and talk to shaggy and curly, they great guys! we went out to pubs and clubs at the front which were good - cheers, baran and the beach club.
we have been home a month now and we are all still missing turkey especially Eric and his banter!!
we werent sure about going to turkey but it was an excellent holiday and we will defo be going back to stay at club amaris!

I arrived by the transfer coach and when i got off the guy put our suitcases in his caran took us to another hotel because he said there was no room!
I think this is disgusting when you spend time picking where you would like to go.
When i spoke to my travel agents they didnt know why he had said this as she said they wernt full. So i dont know what is going on!!

we are a family of four with 2 teenage kids and we highly recommend this hotel. the cleanliness of the rooms is second to none and the bar staff really make your holiday they really go out of their way to make you feel welcome.the owners of the hotel dont know their luck having such great staff.my only gripe is that we booked through cosmos and their is no mention of having to pay for air con and we were hit with a bill of £84 straight away for air con and the safe. they could also maybe look at prices charged round the pool for food and drink as it may encourage more people to stay if it was a little cheaper.if you are looking for value for money and a good hol go for it.

Me and my partner both in our mid 20's stayed here in the first week of July 2009 we thought that our room was basic but very clean, Maids cleaned every day that we were there all staff were friendly including the manageress who was always asking if we was happy and checking we were ok. Air conditioning i would definatley recomend £30 per week and safe was £12 per week. Turkish bbq food was ok but not the best but the entertainment was very good, Good location the town centre and beach were only a 5 minute walk around the corner. Would definatley stay here again.

We stayed in a studio apartment -...

Sep 2008, Miss J H

We stayed in a studio apartment - there is one big room containing a bed (double), wardrobe and small kitchenette area. The room was a good size with plenty of storage in the wardrobe which also had 4 drawers and room on top to store our suitcases. There was a dressing table at one side of the bed and a bedside table at the other.
The kitchenette was as you'd expect - 2 ring cooker, fridge/freezer, cooking utensils and a kettle.
There was a table and 2 chairs in the room which we put outside on the balcony which overlooked the pool. From the shape of the hotel I think all the rooms have a pool view and ours got the sun in the afternoon which was great.
The rooms were really clean when we arrived and the maids came every day to make the beds and empty the toilet bin, which was great. Our bathroom didn't have a window so it got really warm so I'm glad they came every day.
The towels and sheets were changed once in the 7 days. We didn't leave the towels in the bath until they needed changed so they might have been done more. The bathroom had a half bath, toilet and sink. All very clean.
The apartments have a pool bar/restaurant and they seemed to have entertainment on most evenings. We didn't go to them as it's not our thing but they had belly dancing, Turkish night, break dancers etc. The music has to be turned off between 12 - 12.30pm which isn't unreasonable. I ate in the pool bar twice and the food was good.
We rented Air Conditioning for a week which cost £25 for a week. It hit 37 degrees when we were there so we needed it. We also hired a safety deposit box for £12. I think we paid in Lira (Approx. 75YTL) so whatever the equivalent was.
Location wise - We thought it was great, it was possibly a 20-25 minute walk to the harbour where there are a lot of restaurants but it's a nice walk past shops and the promenade etc. There are plenty of bars and restaurants close by but as we've been to Marmaris before we knew where we were heading. It's close to the Old Trafford Bar (if that's your thing!).
We headed to Icemeler Beach every day and it was less than 10 mins walk to the main road where the Dolmus runs. A dolmus is 2YTL each to Icemeler.
My only negative comment about Club Amaris is the apartments next door! It's called the Baris Aparthotel and because of how Club Amaris is built it is open at the back and overlooks the pool and bar area of the Baris. One night we were woken at 2.30/3am by lots of people in the bar next door, there was no music which was fair enough but there was a girl shouting and singing by herself. Obviously everyone is on holiday so we didn't say anything at the time. When I mentioned it to the reception staff they said that they always get complaints and often ask the Baris to keep the noise down. It's certainly not Club Amaris fault but I don't think I would recommend these apartments to parents of young children as they might get woken by the noise from next door.
It's also quite annoying when Club Amaris is playing music at the pool/bar in the evening, so you can hear that from the front of the room but out the back there's a mini rave coming from Baris which was always louder!
There were several nationalities including Dutch and British staying in the apartments.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
The pool area was cleaned every night and the pool itself was clean.
Finally the maids leave an envelope for a tip at the end of the week - It didn't offend us as we would have tipped anyway. They also made different shapes out of the towels a couple of days which was funny!!
Overall a good place to stay.

Having spent a week in Turunc, which...

Sep 2008, Mrs D Chambers

Having spent a week in Turunc, which was lovely and very quiet, we moved to Club Amaris for 2 weeks. We've been to Marmaris 11 times and usually stay in hotels close to the beach. Decided to try a self-catering holiday this year - big mistake!!!!
We had a 1 bedroomed apartment which was well equipped and spacious. The apartment was cleaned daily and the linen changed regularly. No complaints about the quality/cleanliness of the apartment - but major issues with the noise and attitude of staff and management. We stayed 13th-27th August and the apartments were full of Dutch people. One group of 6 Dutch lads were staying in 2 apartments, 1 on our floor (1st) and 1 on the top floor (3rd). They screamed and ran around the apartments and stairwell when they came back drunk from Bar Street between 4 & 5a.m. banging on doors and waking people. The night staff did nothing to stop them.
My husband went to speak to the Management the following day and was told they could do nothing as the lads were drunk. Unlike hotels in Marmaris, apartments don't have security, who would have dealt with the drunken louts and made sure it didn't happen again.

After this incident we spent as little time as possible at the apartments or around the pool (which is extremely slippy/dangerous. a couple of people slipped on the wet floor and banged their heads). We went to the beach each day, which is only a 10 minute walk away.
After complaining just this once to the Management the staff ignored us for the rest of the holiday (not that we were particularly bothered as they're all false anyway, they're just after your money). When we were leaving at 2.00am the night receptionist made no effort to help take our luggage to the cab.
This review makes me sound like a proper moaner!!! but rest assured I like a good time like anyone else, but when you are being disturbed intentionally by idiots playing postmans knock at 4.00am it's no laughing matter.
As I said earlier we've been to Marmaris 11 times and stayed in different accommodation of varying standards, but this is the first time I've ever felt compelled to write a review. These apartments should be advertised as either 18/30 or definitely young and lively. If you're looking for a quiet holiday in Marmaris - this definitely isn't the place.
We love Marmaris and would recommend it to young and old alike. Staying at the Club Amaris has made us realise you really do get what you pay for. Think it's back to the Nergis Select or another nice hotel closer to the beach for us next year. The standards are far higher and the staff and management far more professional.

My family and I booked to go to the hotel Amaris but when we arrived where put next door in Club Amaris and what a nice surprise it was.
The apartments were basic but really nice and clean, the pool was lovely and cleaned every night ready for the next day.
The staff were really friendly and couldn’t do enough for you the food was nice and very reasonable in price.
Overall it was a lovely place to stay and I will definitely be going back next year.
Thank you to all the staff at Club Amaris for a truly brilliant holiday.

Oct 2006, Ms J Lindsay

I just spent 2 weeks in Club Amaris with my 15 year old daughter. What can I say! It was our best holiday ever. Everyone from the cleaners to the management were excellent in every way. The rooms are immaculate and the beds are very comfy.
There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby and the beach is a mere 5-10 min walk away with plenty of night clubs. We went on 2 boat trips which we thoroughly enjoyed, and very reasonably priced too. The food was excellent and the bar staff at Club Amaris were brilliant.
It was our 1st time in turkey but it won't be our last. We will definitely be going back to Club Amaris next year for sure.
