Hotel Koken

The Charisma is a beautiful new property right on the water. Every room has a water view. I would highly recommend the Turkish bath. I was very hesitant to do a Turkish bath because I was concerned about cleanliness, but this wasn't an issue at the Charisma. The facility was very clean and the whole experience was great. The hotel has a large swimming pool.

This hotel is in a great location in a bay that feels private, all it's rooms have a magnificent view, the design of the building,the facilities and rooms are very contemporary and successful. We were a group of 6+ architects from New York staying here and we all agree on these points. The wood decks with beach lounges were you can dive into the Aegean are heavenly. I loved the Charisma. The rooms were modern and sleek in design, the spa bath was a godsend at the end of a hard days work and i particually liked the window from the bathroom to the bedroom so you could bathe, watching the sun set over the ocean. The hotel is decked out throughout in marble and travertine, which is what makes it feel so luxurious. All rooms are sea facing and have large balcony's, so no one will be disappointed. A stunning 4 star hotel with fabulous sea views and great facilities

We stayed in Kusadasi at the Charisma hotel for 4 nights - one night would have been enough. There was more to dislike than to like about this hotel. Yes, it is well located right on the Aegean and yes, the buffet breakfast was good but if you wanted orange juice you had to pay an extra $3.60 US. The rooms have balconies which are set back from the building's face so that it was not possible to get a breeze at night making the room uncomfortably hot. The place makes you feel good in that it's on a beautiful piece of the Aegean - tiny spit of sand for a beach which is mostly unused, mostly you use the lounge chairs (comfy) and jump off the deck into the sea. The town has some low-key charm but not enough for you to want to be there more than one night. The hotel had a band playing (loud and stupid pop songs) that went on much too late. Seemed to be trying to be a hip spot for the young (the Quatar soccer team was staying there) which was sometimes a distraction. Very nice staff though... more

There are two towers to this hotel. I wonder if the differing opinions of the rooms are due to reviewers staying in different parts of the hotel? We discovered during our trip that a five star in the Turkish system basically translates to "bathrooms in marble" and "has air conditioning available" - it doesn't necessarily have to work. So, pretty much anything goes. Some of the 5 stars were spectacular, while one was beyond awful. This "five star" hotel is equivalent to a Hampton Inn with a jazzed up bathroom. The room was dirty, and never vacuumed the 2 nights we stayed. How do I know? The same sequins were on the floor in the bedroom and bath our entire stay. The windows were filthy, obscuring the sea view. The corridor leading to the room was in a complete state of disrepair: carpet rippling and coming off the floor, paint chips all over the floor where they needed to repair cracks and blemishes in the wall. We were told this was a brand new property. Except for the public areas that were maintained, it looked like an aging frat house.... more

This hotel is truly a 5*. The food was nothing to brag about but the complex and the rooms were stunningly beautiful and modern. There was travertene marble everywhere. You could also see the plasma tv from the shower. This place is brand new and must see if you are in Kusadasi! The price for this place is very cheap for what they offer.
