an absolute gem of a hotel we got great rates from istanbul hotel net on the web and my sister and i and 3x 9yr olds spend 5 nights here you may think taxim square is not a good place to stay but it was great. the hotel rooms were very nicely decorated i had a double my sister had a triple aparently there are two types of rooms large and small so i just emailed the hotel and asked for the large rooms ours were lovely. we used the rooms service for toasted cheese lunch and it was so cheap cannot remember the exact prices but it was... more

We booked the Taksim Gonen Hotel over the web after reading several good reviews. Our short break got off to a poor start when arriving at Sabiha Gökçen Airport the hotel transfer failed to materialise. After waiting 20 minutes we phoned the hotel who said there had been "problems" and that we should get a taxi. On our arrival the staff were fairly apologetic and promised that we would get free transport back to the airport at the end of our four day stay. Taksim Gonen Hotel is a clean modern international style hotel. Modern dark wood panelling in the bedroom, with crisp white sheets. Safety deposit box in room. The usual things one would expect in a four star hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful and arranged a complementary airport pick-up on arrival. The pool and terrace on the rooftop were in disrepair when we visited in late April 2007, but the pool in the basement and gym, sauna and hammam were good. Just checked out of the hotel this morning and everything was beyong my expectations. There was a great breakfast spread every morning even for a vegetarian like me. As mentionedby other reviewers, the hoel was renovated last year and everything was very new. Even the bathtub doubles up as a jacuzzi. It has a glass sliding panel to prevent the floor from getting wet. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hello, I just got done staying at the Taksim Gonen Hotel and it was a very pleasant stay. The Hotel staff was friendly and considerate. Just to give you an idea, I had problems w/ my computer and the Hotel Manager called the Network Manager and he was at the hotel w/ in 30 minutes and fixed my computer. The rooms were clean and the hot breakfast was excellent. Hotel location is good 3 minute walk to Taksim Square, but the hotel is on a side street and is relatively quite! I stayed many times in taksim area and stayed in many hotels, also here before When i came to hotel, i m surprised, hotel was built up and designed .. Rooms are ( new rooms) enough large and designed very nice. very luxury rooms.. LCD tv, safe box inside, wireless internet access in the rooms. I also saw indoor and out door pools so nice ( but staff sait it will be opened on first of july ) I suggest you this hotel if you stay in Taksim district

This hotel is located in the heart of Taksim quarter in Istanbul.Very ideally close to the Istiklal shopping center and many many other shops etc.It is right now under renovation,this was not a problem as I was there during the holiday and no work was done.They have 2 types of double rooms small and big. BE SURE TO ASK FOR THE BIG ONE!The single rooms as well have 2 sizes. Nice location, well-sized rooms, standard 3 stars for good price. Yet, there are some problems: the staff hardly speaks English, walls are so thin you can perfectly hear your neighbors every move and what's most irritating — there are male prostitutes in the lobby every night calling the guests at 3 am.

Stayed in this hotel for 5 days(last week) which were absolutely pleasant. The location was great being just abt 30 metres from Taksim Square. The surrounding was clean,quite and amazing. The rooms were very clean and nicely furnished. There were no problems regarding the rooms, everything worked perfectly like the TV, AC,mini-bar....... The bathroom was excellent. Great hotel! The staff was the best I have ever experienced. Good sized rooms, and the bathroom was nice. Great loacation, but you had to cross a very trafficated road to get to taksim square! I would love to come back.
