went to turkey to go to tenedos however once there got told that it had been closed over a month, with several other problems along the way including being called mad english and to leave the hotel we had been sent to as there was no room for us ended up at the grand new port ,when ariving was plesently surprised the hotel manager was absolutley fantastic and helped us all of our stay he is a life saver and needs to be very highly praised for all his help thank you salim. however the third day we were allowed to stay and unpack our bags ,well within a few days there were sexuall acts being made on young inocent children and females rrom the staff down stairs in the hairdressers this was written down and passed to management ,where nothing was ever doneat one stage a young girl was assulted and her partner hit him ,there were several complaints of thisnature and never ended up to much stay away from there,the food was cold and chicken on every day the room was lovely for us but many complained of there room being so far down stairs ,all i can say is you need t o be turkish to have agood stay at this hotel as thats the only time the food was nice when ramadan had finished and they invaded the hotel, this is a hotel for people with open minds and prepare to eat out after paying for meals as you wont get a decent meal go to china town for breakfast it was fab clean and helpful, if you buy from shops haggel to the lostest you will get what you want for peanuts ,the boat trips are great go to margeret tours and speak to eric on the boat hes english and will tell you lots of good tips,the bitez beach is lovely the sea is hotter than the pool not for the faint harted dont do it ,go to the beach .the end part of this is the hotel is lovely just every thing init isnt execpt salim the best thing in ther good look if you have booked change if you can ,contact me if want to know any thing else will tell you the truth

Beautiful hotel, wonderful views but terrible food! Had a wonderful holiday mainly because we rarely ate at the hotel, the food is awful, I am not a fussy eater but breakfast is the same every day so we skipped that, lunch is brown salad, rice, more rice and a Turkish dish, no meat which was a problem for my boyfriend who doesn't eat salad or vegetables, dinner was even worse which was rice again, no meat (unless it was Turkish night when they had kebabs), chickpeas and pasta with tomato ketchup on!!!! One night they had chicken on the BBQ was wasn't cooked properly! We have stayed all inclusive many times and they didn't even have ice cream....unless you paid for it but finding someone to open up the freezer to get an ice cream proved even more difficult! Soft drinks were given to you in a mini plastic cup (about a mouthful) and alcoholic drinks were wine (tasted like vinegar), beer or vodka unless you wanted to pay for something else, there was however a snack bar serving burgers and chips that opened for about an hour in the afternoon with people queuing up waiting for it to open, surely management would have seen this and wondered why people weren't actually eating the meals but waiting for junk food. Anyway after 4 days of eating hardly anything we ventured down to the lovely town of Bitez where there are loads of restaurants and bars, friendly staff and amazing food, check out CJ's! The walk down is fine but walking uphill on a full stomach is a no go but if you eat at the restaurants they offer a free shuttle back.
On a plus note the hotel is amazing, just seems like they should be spending more on the food rather than the fancy lobby area. When we arrived we were put in a room without a balcony down about 120 steps felt like we were in a dungeon, asked to be moved and that wasn't a problem, rooms are clean but not enough clean towels, had to ask a couple of times. The down side of the room was that we had £95 English money taken, informed reception who couldn't care less and told us to come back once they had spoken to house keeping, waste of time!
All in all the holiday was good but will def stay in Bitez next time, self catering and am already planning next years holiday there. Having never been to Turkey before I was surprised at how friendly the locals are and how beautiful the area is. If you are trying to lose weight I'd def recommend the Grand Newport!

Me and my boyfriend were also moved to this hotel, as the Crystal Hotel apparently had "no reservation" for us. we were also told that our holiday tour operator "had gone bust" which was completely untrue! The rep there was completely untrustworthy and incompetant and was trying to charge us a fortune to transfer us to the Grand Newport- we knew his game!
Anyway when we arrived at the Grand Newport, we were so happy! the room was so wonderful and clean. The hotel as a whole was such a nice place to stay in.
The only thing to let it down was the food, me and my boyfriend are vegetarian, we were able to manage breakfast and lunch, but for dinner you wanted something more than salad and chips! so we ate out everynight, which we did'nt mind because we found an amazing restaurant. The "All inclusive drinks" were'nt that good, they only got served till 11.pm and the wines were horrible. if you wanted a decent drink, you had to pay extra for it! But overall the hotel was a great place to stay and i would definately go back, but next time i probably would'nt go All inclusive.

On arriving at this property we all thought it looked ok, a little small, but ok. We had been booked into Crystal Beach Hotel, but on arriving were told that they had no room for us, some one posing as "our rep" gave us a long and totally untrue story about our hoilday group going bust, and that they would try to move us somewhere. Feeling very aprehensive about this as we had two small children with us we, decided to check out the new hotel on-line. It looked ok, so we went. Paying the £60 transfer to Grand Newport ourselves.
Well, where do I start.....the food to begin with was ok, but after a few days of eating basically just salad it becomes very dull. My family, being english, were in the minority so my children had no one to talk or play with from begining to end. By the last few days of the holiday, my nine year old was crying, she was so bored.
No entertainment to speak of unless you count Jimmy (Hakan) who tried to touch me at every opportunity.
The maid stole from our room....money, clothes, kids toys and sweets. When reported some of the things were returned, but not all.
Lots of people in the hotel, including my husband and 2 children were ill with chest and ear infections.
If you are staying here thinking you are going to have a cheap holiday please be aware; it will not turn out that way.....we had to eat out a number of times as it was so unbearable going into that dinner hall every night for the same old mush......we ended up booking lots of trips out just to escape the boredom of sitting round the tiny pool (if you were lucky enough to get somewere to sit).
Just to top off our holiday, we missed our flight and had to stay for two more nights. We were told this would cost a further £150 - on checking out they decided to double this to £300 - we were not happy to say the least.
We did try in vain to contact our travel company, but were told they only accept complaints by letter, not over the phone.....in other words....tough!!
Also, the hotel owners children run amok round the hotel, causing havoc with two nannys following them round doing nothing.
In conclusion if you have already booked and cannot get out of it take lots of money with you as you will need it.
I would like to just say that the bar staff and waiting staff did try there very best to please and the photo guy takes beautiful pictures........its just a very badly managed hotel. The attitude is one of "we have your money now and you're no longer our concern.

I was very excited to be staying at a 4-5* hotel in Gumbet, Turkey. The reviews we read before leaving were good and the pictures of the hotel look gorgeous. The hotel reception is lovely and the view from the hotel amazing but that is the only good comment i can say about the hotel. the staff speak very little english and do not go out of their way to help you at all. the food is diabolical. plain spaghetti in tomotoe ketchup????, dry salad with flys around and fruit that looked like it had been out for hours uncovered. my partner who is a veggie even bit into a coissant which had a sausage inside and not labelled to advise of this. Fish one day looked like fried chicken and the soup was yogurt or wheat flavor on some days??. at the bar you were given a small, childs plastic cup for your "all inclusive" drinks where as the Turkish that were staying at the hotel were given large pint glasses with ice. the bar staff were very rude too. the rooms were nto cleaned properly. towels changed by maid twice in two weeks and bathroom never wiped over or ashtry emptied. the floor in the rooms was caperted which was never hoovered and i feel carpet is very un-hygenic. We were advised that the hotel was not suitbale for people with walking difficulties so we were prepared for steps but that was a under-statement. From our room to the pool there was 75 steps. And at least 20 more to reception. we were forced to eat out every night and most of the alcholic drinks in the hotel were chargable leaving just vodka and beer. one night i asked for a cocktail and got a pint of beer?? thats how little english they speak. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Well the best and only good comment I can say about this hotel is that the views are stunning. As the the hotel as a whole we found it laughable.
THE FOOD
Basicaly the food and the selection was poor!!! It consisted of chicken n rice cooked in different ways for 12 of the 14 nights we were there, hasen to add we ate out 9 evenings, often the previous nights warm foods you would recognise the next day in the cold selection, fruit was always badly bruised, if any. This was the worst for choice and quality all inclusive food menu we have ever encounted.
THE ROOM
Although we paid extra for a seaview room we moved as the room we were given was very small and had no balcony. The overall cleanlyness of the room was of a low standard, a fly had died in our bathroom on our 2nd night, we had purposly left it there to see how long it would be there, it was still there when we left.
THE SERVICE
The service at the bar provided us will some of our best laughs, each time you ordered a drink, you would get half that drink, E.G half a lager = quater of a lager, soft drinks were served in a small plasic cup, which = a mouth full of drink. Thats if the barmen serves you rather that playing on his phone or chatting to his mates, the spirits are best just ask for a tall glass.
THE ENTERTAINMENT
10pm "IT'S SHOWTIME" Laugh!!!! no more needs saying!!! (several times this consisted of him just playing the same CD over and over again) Both being in are early 30's, this was when we new we had had enough quarters of lager and went into Gumbet for our dinner and some enertainment.
OVERALL
I would class this hotel as a good 2* or moderate 3* even though the lobby and views are stunning.

Overall, I have to say, this is the BEST holiday i have ever been to.
We booked this hotel after having read every single review on the website. We weren't expecting too much, consideing the amount of money we payed, but my god was it worth every second.
Going to what a previous review said, i think they are COMPLETELY wrong about the staff. All of the waiters are friendly and polite, the rooms were basic but they were absolutely fine, because nobody comes to spend the whole 2 weeks in there, do they?
You simply cannot go on holiday expecting English food. You go to Turkey to experience their culture, which includes eating what they eat. There was enough variety of food to make a meal out of, but me and my boyfriend always had a bit of everything, which suited us fine. Typically, there was some sort of chicken or fish, salad, pasta, potatoes and a varitey of soup and fresh bread every day. For the people that do moan, at 3:30 they do burger & chips.
Hakan, the main entertainer, is a nice bloke.
Sometimes he can be irritating (be warned, football costs 5 lira EACH).
The view from the hotel was breathtaking. I would strongly suggest getting a sea view room. It makes it all worthwhile.
There are a few improvements the hotel needs to make. All inclusive drinks end at 11. This includes water- but don't worry, if you shout at them they give it you just so you shut up. One receptionist doesn't speak English, but there wasn't much of a problem because she just fetched someone else. If you are a bloke- DO NOT GET A HAIRCUT. Face masks & shaves are good but if he gets the shavers out, run a mile.
Being completely honest, i loved this place & would definitely go back again and again.

We had a great holiday, The hotel really lived upto its name. The very best thing about the hotel had to be the view... priceless. On the down side there were a lot of steep steps ( remember to limp, and ask for a room high up). The food was fresh and tasty, but a bit samey, and a shortage of meat. The pool area was great with plenty of beds and shade, and no problem getting drinks. All in all very pleased with hotel, clean and friendly, and the very best views.

I was supposed to stay for a week but i have demanded for a hotel change from my tour operators.Well the room was not clean,there was dirt on my pillow.The tv was not working ask for the food,you got salads but the main food is always rice with some meatballs.Same food everyday,the waiters and receptionist doesnt know a word of english,it was like a nightmare so,dont even try this hotel,it s a waste of time...

Me (25) and my girlfriend (22) went here looking for a relaxing break in the sun with the option to go out in the night if we felt. Dont think i could of picked a better location. 2 minutes on the bus to the beach (these dolmus buses were fantastic, every 5 minutes 24/7, 2 ytl) of gumbet, and about 5-10 to bodrum. Gumbet itself was full of shops and bars, really nice and friendly area.
The hotel was nice, nice pool, friendly staff, rooms cleaned daily (fresh towels, bed made etc) and beautiful views. The food was lovely - esp main meals. Usually consisted of 4 hot meals, lamb meatballs/ chicken in sauce / fish and a vegetable dish. For the sides there was roast potatoes and fresh crusty bread. Saturday night was nice, kebab night, chicken an shish. Nice selection of fresh salad for you salad eaters out there. Also pool bar done nice burger an chips every day between half 3 n 4. Only let down was the breakfast, continental (cereal, fruit, ham, toast). As far as drink goes, they had Tolburg beer on tap (which was very nice) not sure on the spirits as i never drank them. Real coke/fanta/sprite!
Would definately go back and recommend to any one!

This hotel really does live up to it's name..its very grand! This was my second visit to Turkey. I was very excited by staying in a 4* hotel, being a student and all. The lobby is amazing, pool was very clean, although it looked much bigger in the photos! But there was a lack of sunbeds most days as people would repeatedly put down their towels on the beds and go out for the day so that when they came back they would have somewhere to lie!! Not impressed by the selfishness. There were a few spare beds by the side of the pool, but not much space to put them up, we tried to avoid this due to dirty looks from fellow sunbathers.
The rooms were very cosy and spacious with much closet and drawer space. The bathroom was very nice with a glass shower cubicle, cleaned everyday.
The services offered, such as turkish bath and massage were quite expensive, some working out to £18 for a 15 minute massage.
The food was average and not varied at all, shame to say. From a personal perspective, much of the food was stews etc and was soaked in a tomato base...which aggravated my eczema. So there wasnt much other choice for me :( There were a number of flies around the food and we had to shoo them away because they kept landing on the salad also.
Overall, a lovely hotel, the view from poolside was possibly the most beautiful sight of the bay and peninsula. Breathtaking.

My review of the hotel was very nice, it had very nice food and a good vegetarian selection for vegies. The view from our balcony was wonderful you could see whole of Gumbet Bay and the sea which was lovely. The hotel was very clean, the rooms were cosy and the beds were comfy to lie in, the showers was lovely as well.
The waiters and the entertainer were very nice and friendly kept us busy all the time. There was loads of things to do which was good for the young children. The swimming pool was great, good size and good little kids pool as well.
All in all it was a excellent hotel to stay in for 2 weeks.

If you’re looking for a well priced decent hotel look no further. We were impressed with the Grand Newport hotel.
The views are amazing, the rooms were new and clean and many of them had a good view.
However our first room didn’t have a balcony, so we paid to upgrade so we could enjoy the amazing views over Gumbet.
The pool area was clean and the reception was nice.
The food was ok but there could have been more choice, however for £400 for 2weeks all inclusive we couldn't complain, as just getting all our drinks free made it worthwhile and so we did eat out on a few occasions.
One downside was all the steps down to the rooms, probably not a good idea for the elderly or young children.
The beauty treatments were also good, the Turkish bath was a great way to start your holiday!

My partner and I spend our 1 year anniversary here and we loved every second, the hotel is fab! Pool is great and views from hotel are exceptional. We spend a week here, but please watch as when we went most of the hotel rooms do not have a balcony or terrace, but it did not bother us as the rooms are very spacious.
But other couples who stayed for 2 weeks upgraded to a room with a balcony for about £50, so well worth the money. Food is great, Lunch is the best, but it is so cheap in the surrounding areas that we did not mind going out for breakfast every so often.
It is advertised to be in Bodrum, but it is actually the other side of Gumbet, close to Bitez. Gumbet is the place to go shopping for your cheap rip off clothes, but they hassle you a lot so beware! The best evenings out is definitely in Bitez, where you can sit on the beach on cushions under the stars with lanterns in the trees making a perfect romantic setting. I would definitely go back, excellent break!
