Just returned from my first visit to Turkey and stayed at the STS hotel in Ortakent Yashi - Bodrum.
We had booked a hotel room but think we received an apartment as it had a lounge area, kitchen with a microwave and fridge and also had large balcony compared to some of the balconies there.
Although there was a kitchen facility there were no utensils such as knives and forks so always had to eat out. The kitchen sink was quite smelly and could smell it in the lounge area.
Bathroom had a powerful shower but everything seemed to be rusty.
Our bedroom was clean and had the air conditioning unit in there so was always cooler at night, Air con was free which was a big bonus.
Towels were changed daily and the apartment was cleaned daily.
The pool was lovely and big although the pool bar was pointless as no staff were ever around.
The staff spoke very little or broken English, we found a nice restaurant down the street where we spent most of our time at the Guzel Otel, we spent most of our time here rather than in out complex. We even got the owner of the Guzel Otel to write down "what time do we check out" in Turkish so we could pass it to our own reception so they could understand us. I do understand that we are in a different country but feel that if they have guests from the UK there should be someone who can speak and understant basic English.
Breakfast was buffet style, every day was cucumber, tomatoe, melon, cold meat and cheeses and a few different cereals.
Dinner is nice in the hotel although we prefered to eat out elsewhere.
Beach is nice and has its own part for the hotel which is a nice change if you dont fancy the hotel pool.
Ortakent was extremely quiet but maybe because it was the end of season and there nothing but restaurants with people trying to entice you into their restaurant, which got tedious after a while when trying to go for a walk along the promenade.
Overall i probably wouldnt stay here again but it is a good place if you want a cheap relaxing holiday.

sorry chaps but we went to te STS in May and had a fab time!!! The food was great because it wasn't all English food (stay at home if you want egg n chips) the pool was nice, not huge but it was wet and clean. The staff we're great, the rooms were clean, the beach isn't a lovely sandy one, but that's not down to the hotel is it? If you want a chilled out holiday, not surrounded by noise and bustle, I'd recommend the STS, it's not a party place granted, but we loved it, wish I had the money to go back tomorrow. Quite sad that it has bad reviews, I suppose it depends on what you want from your holiday.
