thit was a good experiance, the location is excelent and the service as well, the only thing that i didn't like that the room was not clean

Holiday Villa Langkawi is a perfect place to stay. We really loved it and it was by far the most enjoyable resort we visited in the East. The hotel was so great that we didn't need to spend much time away from it. Breakfast was extensive, and offers a western spread and traditional food items...it was a fair offering and about as good as a breakfast can get. Fifth year running visiting Langkawi, and eventhough we head up the road for a few days to the Casa Del Mar where we got married last year for some luxury and pampering, you can't beat the holiday villa / federal villa (cheaper still) for value for money. We stayed here and our friends at the Federal. Our room was a delux premium overlooking the pool. Great size, very clean and fab view over pool and the beach. Arrived at this hotel to find it to be set in beautifully well maintained gardens. This alone could earn it its 4-star rating. Hotels though are simply not graded on its gardens as most people know and basically this is where Holiday Villa's 4-stars start and finish. Check-in was easy, Bell boys more than happy to chat with you, Pool area great, especially for families and to top it all this hotel is basically 'on the beach' here on Langkawi. My wife and I spent 11 nights in this hotel from 4th - 15th February 2007. I think many of the adverse reviews written about this Hotel are a little unfair. One should bear in mind that this is after all a three star hotel and as such provides extremely good value for money. We found the rooms to be clean, comfortable and well appointed. Our only niggle was the inadequate amount of storage space. We had to keep most of our clothes in our suitcases for the duration of our stay. As a party of 3 we booked to stay at Holiday Villa Langkawi for one week from the 1st to 8th of February. We have stayed in other hotels on Langkawi many times an very much looked forward to our visit. The room was a Prima Suite and on entering we found two dead cockroaches on the floor of the sitting room. - not good but we were determined not to let it affect our holiday. We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights in january 2007, having just spent 8 nights in Pangkor. We had originally booked to stay at the Berjaya Hotel in Langkawi but having spoken with a friend in the travel industry who reccomended the Holiday Villa we changed our itinerary. I am so glad we did as this hotel is in a fantastic location and set on a lovely private beach. This hotel boasts one of the biggest pools on the island and also has a large jacuzzi next to the pool. WE HAVE JUST RETURNED FROM A 2 WEEK STAY, AND ONLY WISH IT COULD HAVE BEEN LONGER. I had read some iffy reviews prior to going but needn't have worried. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the times we ate in the breakfast buffet there was always plenty to choose from, coffee and tea resplenished constantly. the hotel was all we wished for and more. The staff courteous and polite and the bell boys loved a chat and gave some sound advise. The hotel rooms were just as illustrated and after an initial hiccup we were given a lovely room with a sea view. Value for money you cant beat it. Situated just outside the hotel are many restaurants where the food is far better and cheaper than that of any hotel. . We loved the garden view room we stayed in as it was rather secluded and pleasantly decorated. It suited travelers who enjoy peace and mother nature. Pool view rooms,however, were a bit noisy due to noise from the pool and had less privacy. We turned up at 8:45 am for breakfast at hotel restaurant and some food like bread was already gone.
