So far so good
This is my second time staying at this hotel and all in all, I’d stayed for 2 nights in a deluxe room. There were some glitches when I checked in as they informed me that my requested non smoking room was still being prepared and I had to wait for around 30 minutes for it which I’d chose to do so. However, after 30 minutes of waiting, the room still wasn’t ready and they offered me a smoking room which the receptionist assured me that it was perfectly odour free after she personally went up to check. Besides, she told me that this... more
A hotel for Shopaholics and Nightowls
The title of my review says it all. If you're either a true-blue shopaholic or a veritable nightowl, then Hotel Capitol is a safe choice. The moment you step out of the lobby, both Sungei Wang and BB Plaza are at your wallet's disposal, and if you turn right, Low Yat Plaza can be easily accessed. The other malls and shops in the Bukit Bintang area are within easy walking distance as well. Now, if you prefer drinking with friends through the night, then the place is also surrounded by a lot of al fresco restaurants where beer and shishas... more
Balance the "+"&"-"& see if this hotel is right for U
Stayed in their hotel on 21st Nov '07 - 23rd Nov ' 07: These are the findings & hope all other travellers can make their right choice if they wanna stay in this hotel. These are the findings: 1) If you want to have a decent room for an enjoyable holiday, this is definitely not the hotel for you especially so if you stayed in their standard room if not, you will get the service which sucks!! 2)l: Staff not friendly at all!! E.g.: I booked 2 rooms with them & prepaid everything including request to have connecting room or room... more
"solid" hotel
We stayed 1 night at Hotel Capitol in a double room. The hotel was quite central, however you could hear street noise in our room. The hotel was a good place to stay in the city, being a proper "solid" hotel.
Had a great stay in superior room
Having read previous reviews regarding noise on lower floors I opted to book 2 superior rooms with an interconecting door for our family stay in October 2007. We had excellent rooms on the 18th floor with stunning view of Petronis Towers. 18th floor is non-smoking, very clean rooms of reasonable size with comfortable beds, modern furniture and bathrooms. You could hear distant noise from band playing in club on lower floors but not enough to interupt sleep. Our friends travelling with us stayed in a deluxe room on 13th floor and were... more
Never Again
Like many of the other reviews on this Hotel, I was also extremly dissapointed with the Capitol Hotel. Our stay was for 8 nights(This was my 1st mistake) and as mentioned by other travellers, be prepared to have to put up with a very average rock band playing literally at your window. You will not get any sleep until about midnight, EVERY night. Later on Friday, Saturday and sunday nights. Rooms average, insuficient space on vanity to put your toiletries, room smelt of smoke after being cleaned, windows do not open,... more
Good location, but.....
Just came back from Malaysia and stayed with Capitol for 2 nights. Below are my findings: - Staff: not very friendly at all, no smile on their face and won't apologise when they there were problems. (Had to go down to the reception 3 times because our room key does not work, not once did they apologise.) - Room: extremely basic, old furnishers, poor soundproofing, you can hear the live band at night and the noise from the near by plaza will wake you up early in the morning! Not something you look forward to when you have a bad... more
Ok for the price
Its an ok hotel for the price. However if you can stump even 50 RM a night more, you will get hotels which look a lot better (though not sure how they are from the inside), such as Melia, Swiss Garden, Royale Bintang and Times Square. The Capitol looks kind of rickety and old We had a room with eastwards view, so you could see hills beyond Times Square. The hotel is reasonably clean however the lifts are rickety and smell funny. The breakfast was OK. The location is very good, very close to Bintang Walk which has good eateries... more
i love to come again and again..
i highly recommended this hotel because the rate is good, it's also near to lot of shopping spot such as low yat, sungei wang, BB Plaza, lot ten, berjaya time square and many more.. the room was simply neat and fully equipped. the staff is kind to us but too bad they dont provide a prayer tool for moslem such as sajadah.
great view and location
the hotel is excellent in terms of location and the view from our room. it is close to shopping center within our budget. the petronas towers are quite a distance but we dont need to shop in their mall as it is outside our budget. the shower has a low pressure and the floor in the bathroom is slippery when wet. it is not good for the elderly as I slipped while taking a bath. .
