Tongsai bay, on Koh Smaui Thailand is sheer luxury
A five star hotel and more. Beautiful hillside cottages with it's own private beach, 3 restaurants and two swimming pools. The staff were great, not allowing you to lift a finger during your stay. The cottages were lovely, with queen sized beds, spacious bathroom, sitting area and a large outside terrace with a bath to unwind in.
The food at the beach restaurant was lovely. The prices, though more expensive than outside the hotel were still reasonable (and much cheaper than England). The only thing that was pricey, which is true for most of Thailand, was wine... however we did receive a complimentary bottle of wine to our room on our second night from Trailfinders!
If you want to have a relaxing holiday to unwind, this place is just as tranquil as the Maldives, yet a 10 minute cab ride, costing a couple of pounds will have you in the busier tourist area of Chaweng.

My new husband and I stayed here during the second week of our honeymoon, after a frantic and hectic week in Bangkok - it was incredible.
Peaceful and beautiful, acres of green with palm trees and wild flowers. We stayed in a cottage which was fantastic with our bath on the balcony, fresh fruit was delivered daily. We were then upgraded to a grand villa which was just incredible - the bath on the balcony had become a private swimming pool. A truly magical place, the staff were incredible and nothing was too much trouble.
An amazing place which we hope to visit again some time.
