We have just got back from a cheap all inclusive deal to Orient Palace, Antalya, Turkey - It was absolutly fantastic.
After having a holiday from hell last year to Turkey i was obviously very wary of booking again this year so we spent weeks, days and hours trying to find a 5* hotel that was actually a 5* all inclusive for the money we had. (The trouble we were having was that on teletext and the like 'cheap sights' hotels were coming up in the 5* catogory but when looking harder turned out to be 3* and 4*)
I wasnt that keen from the pictures and write up but we gulped - booked and from the second we arrived (a bearable 3 hour transfer - air con and mini bar!)it was top notch. I am a serial complainer and have very high standards so for me to willingly offer this review really says something!)
Food and drinks on arriving, bellboys for your cases, clean large rooms with amazing views, extensive amenitys fab, 3 pools to choose from, bars, ice cream, food pretty much all day and night long, staff exceptionally friendly, food - so much choice and beautifully cooked, entertainment - probably the best ive seen for all incl hotels! We dont have children but it seemed the childrens entertainment was good and adults have the choice to head to the great nightlife of Alanya after hours with the entertainment team (just watch it they will try and charm the pants off you and get you into bed!!) no but seriously we didnt encounter any staff that were letchey or made you feel uncomfortable at any time.
Only slight downers that shouldnt put you off and certainly didnt affect us but may affect some - hotel is on a hill (if you are lucky like us and book in couples you can usually get a room in main hotel so the only hill we encountered was to get our icecream and to go to two of the three pools) However they have golf carts that take you up and down if you struggle!
Beach is 2 mins away in free bus and has really small pebles mixed with sand and is a bit rockey in the water where the waves break but there is a fab all inclusive bar with food all day avail on the beach as well as volleyball etc.
The last thing is there isnt many English (so spred the word and we can out number the germans!) but all entertainment is done in English also - so not a problem!
We loved it so much we are booking to go again in September of this year.
A really amazing holiday for all ages with great staff and a graet attitude to there customers
oh and one last thing - sunbeds were still available untill bout half ten/eleven in the morning and then some became available again around 2pm (for those late risers!!)
FAB FAB FAB!!!!

Do not go by the Star Ratings provided by the Hotel because the Turkish Hotel ratings do not have same value.
When you choose a hotel, always read up on an independent review.
Comments - Good facilities, decent choice of food available throughout the day and into the night but not very children friendly, local alcohol is unlimited till 1am.
Entertainment was poor so provide your own. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
Rooms, restaurants, common areas, and swimming pools were all very clean.
Local excursions seem to be good value for money especially the Turkish bath.
Don't bother taking Turkish Lira because everything is priced in Euros.

First of all, I am going to say that I wont be going to this hotel again as there are serious issues at management level, and we are currently setting the ball rolling to get compensation. We paid for two family rooms, a double room and a single. The reception staff informed us we could only have three family rooms as they were full up. Having complained, reasoned and got the reps involved, the hotel refused to budge and ended up with a 39 year old sharing a room with her parents for a fortnight! We have since learned from the managers wife, that the hotel continue to take bookings until theyre 107% overbooked!
The hotel itself is great for families and is clean and safe enough. There are 3 pools, a busy slide pool, a bigger main pool with the animation team around it and a quiet pool for serious sunbathers. I would reccommend taking your own beach towels, as the ones provided get stolen by other sunbathers (you need a 5 euro deposit for each towel).
The acommodation was clean and spacious with towels and bedding changed everyday. Rooms had a decent hairdryer, fridge, tv, bathroom (with decent sized mirror!) and an ok balcony.
The food was only average (have been all inclusive in Turkey before and had better). Lots of chicken and rice and bread in restaurant, and mainly chips hotdogs and burgers during the day. Father constantly wrecked, so assume the alcohol was fine! Bar opens at 10.30 and closes at 12am. Good variety of spirits available and vodka was fine.
The beach, althiough a free 5 mins bus ride away was average. Theres a free bar and eating place and plenty of sunbeds and shade. You need shoes on to go into the sea, and its stones and pebbles rather than sand underfoot.
Alanya is a good 30 - 40 mins bus ride away and was nice. Antalya airport is a good 90 mins taxi ride away.
We went go karting a couple of nights, which the men and nephew loved. It was 4 euros for 10 mins and 5 mins walk away.
ALL IN ALL A GOOD HOLIDAY WHICH WAS SPOILED BY THE RECEPTION STAFF AND MANAGEMENTS REFUSAL TO GIVE US ROOMS FOR WHICH WE HAD PAID!
