Karon Beach Hotel

My partner and I stayed at the Karon Beach Resort for 10 days during March 2007 and enjoyed every moment of their fantastic hospitality. From the room cleanliness to booking tours/events - this hotel by far exceeded my expectations for a seamless, trouble free stay. Excellent location, at the better end of Karon beach and a short stroll to Kata shops, restaurants and a short tuk tuk ride to Kata beach. Excellent breakfast, but would recommend exploring local restaurants for lunch and dinner as better value for money and choice can be found. Nice pool area, spa and room. The pool could have been kept a little cleaner. Service fine, staff quite laid back, so not as slick as could have been. Spent 4 days at the beautiful Karon Beach resort in early January 2007. The location is outstanding, being right on Karon beach. From the hotel pools you can take a couple of steps & Karon beach is yours. Each of the 80+ rooms has a beautiful sea view. The room itself is quite small, as is the bathroom. It is pleasantly decorated in traditional Thai natural colous. The balcony is a good size. However, the view is priceless. The only reason I didn't give Karon Beach Resort full marks is the bed. Even though I stayed here 2 years ago it is nice to know that by the other reviews the Karon Beach Resort continues to be a good place to stay. While it is not too fancy compared to some of the higher end properties, it is very pleasant and comfortable. The location is about 15 minutes south of Patong (which is easy to get to if you wish) and it is nice having the beach right at your back door. Would definately stay here again.

had 11 nights at the karon beach resort ,could not fault it in any way we were in a ground floor room near the beach bar ,we were a bit concerned about possible noise but the bar music stops at 10pm so it wasn't a problem ,although you have to like the carpenters and bee gees !! the hotel food was very good and the staff were lovely and friendly and went out of their way to be helpful .the hotel decor is lovely with a typical thai touch .we can recommend the hotel thai massages ,a much cleaner pavillion than the beach massage... more

On arriving at karon beach we knew we had made the right choice, after a 3 night stay in bangkok this is the ideal place for a relaxing and comfortable Holiday. The hotel staff were very attentive and helpful especially the pool bar staff, very clean rooms with great views of the beach and the sunset at night. The beach is very good with jet ski's and other watersprts available We ate at the On the rock restaraunt which is across from the karon beach(2 min walk) but worth it especially for the seafood and the view over the sea and beach it... more

We stayed at Karon Beach Resort in july this year for a week it was a great place to stay with the beach right there in front of you a;though its not good for swimming but thats what the pool is for!! The restaurant on the beach was really nice but you can find better food and alot cheaper at restaurants on the streets near by. The shopping in the main street is great if you are looking for copy stuff such as cds dvds t-shirts lv bags etc etc great place to visit as not in the center of patong which is very busy and crowded and the prices... more

karon beach resort is such a fabulous hotel, with fabulous staff in such an ideal and great location! You feel so safe and welcome by all and the food is excellent value and excellent quality. The rooms all have an amazing view as they all overlook the waters but donot swim at this time as the sea is extemley choppy and dangerous, the red flag is up all the time so do whatever the flag says. I stayed at the karon Beach Resort in Feb/march and i thought it was a fantastic hotel. The decor of the hotel is beautiful, it's all dark wood with orchids around and very clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms seemed quite spacious and again very nicely decorated. There are tea/coffee making facilities, a fridge which contains some items to be purchased from the mini bar as well as complimentary bottled water which is placed on a daily bases or as requested. October 2005 What a fabulous location and a great resort. Right on the beach (6 steps from the pool side area to the sand!!) Lovely pools and views. We are a family of 4, with an 11 year old and a 16 year old. Would definitely go back again. 15 minutes away from Patong Beach - much more action there if you like shopping, but go to Karon Beach for a relaxing holiday.
