Montien Hotel

Very nice hotel to stay in Pattaya. Location is ok, rooms a bit old but ok. Nice gardens and a great staff.

This was our second stay at the Montien.. we went in 2005 as well, and what was really nice was they remembered us. We arrived at 2.30 AM and were checked in within 30 minutes.. My husband was not well and the front desk arranged for a doctor to visit him in the room later that day. Nothing was too much trouble, even to the Housekeeping service changing the sheets at 4 pm as the fever broke. They were changed earlier that day too. Hotel was nice and in a good location, however, I was disappointed with the charges. They charged more for the room (about 20%) than I booked online. Because it was New years and everywhere else was full, I had no choice but to stay and pay the higher rate. Then at checkout I was informed of a 10% service fee on top of the already over inflated room price. When I asked what "service" they performed for the fee, they had no answer. I stayed one night at the Montien Hotel. It is located close to the central section of Pattaya, and right on the beach. The hotel has a very nice pool area, with jacuzzi, and pretty gardens. The lobby was under renovation but the staff was situated at tables for checkin. After a welcome drink that tasted like Koolaid, and haggling over the price, we were shown to a room on the 7th floor.
