Aisawan Pattaya

At first we have booked standard room and was being upgrade to Junior Suite however we have decided to paid extra money for upgraded to Lania Pool where we can jump into the swimming from the room balancy. Breakfast was great, swimming pool was big and facing the beach. However you don't expected to swim in the beach. Disadvantage will be the travel distance in between the hotel and town.
Good hotel, lack of entertainment
from Shellt09
We stayed at the Aisawan for 10 nights at the beginning of June. We had booked a superior room, but decided to upgrade to a club room to make the holiday special. There was nothing wrong with the superior room, but it was a little basic. The club room was lovely overlooking the ocean with breakfast, cocktails and laundry and internet access included. It was also spacious and well maintained. The staff in the hotel are amazing and can't do enough to help you. There is building work going on next door, but as we were at the back of the hotel, we didn't hear anything and spent alot of time by the pool, but it didn't disturb us at all. Our only complaint was that the only bar open in the evening was the piano bar in reception. The bar outside wasn't open once during our stay, which meant we had no choice but to go to Pattaya every evening. Pattatya itself is what you make of it. If you are easily offended, it's probably not the place to go and it does take it bit of getting used to that all the girls in the bar want to do is play jenga etc. to make sure they get a tip and you stay longer. We went to the Tiffany show and had a great time. We also went elephant trecking, did under-water water walking and went to Coral Island. All in all we had a really good holiday, but once in Pattaya was definitely enough and if we visit Thailand again, we would spend time further south.

Lovely Hotel, Excellent Service
from BMBGLB
A lovely hotel, leading directly onto their private beach. About a good 10 minutes walk to the main road or 25 - 25 minutes from Dolphin roundabout. There are some restaurants and bars within 10 minutes walk (on way to main road), these are mainly German. There is also 1 Italian restaurant. All these around here are very quiet with few patrons. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the little supermarket which is open 24 hours. We thought all the staff in the hotel were very attentive and polite there was even someone on duty even after midnight to open the hotel doors and press the button for the lift. The service by the waitresses in the bar was excellent, always smiling. The entertainment in the bar area was low key and very relaxing. The rooms are very comfortable and each evening we had our bed turned down and fresh little flowers. The buffet breakfast by the pool can be very busy around 9am at weekends and all the tables were occupied (you may have to wait 10 or 15 minutes), during the week no problems. The breakfasts were good with a good range of fruits, pastries, salads, bacon, sausage, noodle dishes, boiled, fried eggs and omlettes made to order. A complaint though, the fruits, and pastries were completely uncovered as were the salads, pancakes and french toast and flies were able to get to these foods. There is building work in the area near the hotel but it caused us no inconvenience. The baht bus drivers always parked outside the hotel can pester you a little, its best to go to the main road if possible and get a passing baht bus there as they are only 10 bahts per person. A word of warning NEVER GO DURING SONGKHRAN (mid April)unless you want buckets, bowls of water, hosepipes or water cannons turned on you for a week. (This should and generally is suspended at 6pm each evening, only to resume again during the daylight hours)
Superb hotel

Hi again. We have just returned from the Aisawan last week and can honestly say the hotel is an excellent holiday hotel. When you arrive, its difficult not to be taken aback by the sheer opulence of the place; beautiful gardens and a waterfall in the lobby !!! We had booked a Club room which we found overlooked the pool and faced the beach. The room was spotless, I don't mean clean, I mean spotless and suffice to say the attention to the small details in the room ( flowers, minibar, toiletries...even toothbrushes / toothpaste, pristine white bedlinen ) was superb. With a Club room you also get other benefits like free washing and ironing and best of all free cocktails and nibbles at the a la carte sunset terrace....cool!!! The room is cleaned daily, towels, bedlinen... the lot ! Oh... you also get free internet every day. The hotel has its own bakery in the lobby which is great for a light lunch. Breakfast is just about everything you can imagine to eat !!! The hotel staff are very pleasant and helpful. So yep!! all that said, I was pleased. However, I may rave about the hotel itself but there are a few downsides.... as a previous reveiwer said, its the germans and russians; ignorant as hell and up at the crack of dawn to put towels on the sunbeds. Its not that much of a problem as the hotel has a private section of the beach, but it is bloody annoying !! Another small detail is the fact that the beach has more cigarette butts than the average ashtray in it.... ! Tried the Spa, thought it was average, no more than that, but ridiculously expensive by comparison. All in all, not much to really complain about and nothing really detracts from the fact the Aisawan is a quality hotel. Hope this helps.
Nice, when it's finished
from GaryDoyle
A lot of building work was going on at the time, which we were never told about by tradewinds. We're still in dispute about this at the moment (six months later). The hotel's a bit out of the town, but this isn't necessarily a bad thing. The rooms were basic considering it's a 4 star hotel. We moved twice, and the last room still wasn't up to standard. The club rooms are the one's they show you in the brochure, and there's a large premium to pay to stay in these. The standard rooms are no better than a travel lodge. The food is extremely expensive, and I'd thoroughly recommend eating in Pattaya. The food is better, and it's a fraction of the price. The pool area was nice, but considering the floor above us was being refurbished we left the hotel as often as possible to avoid the noise. I wouldn't go back, but hopefully the buiding work has now finished. Reception staff aren't friendly, and don't do a lot to improve your stay if you're having problems.
peaceful hotel in hectic resort

We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks and had no problems at all. The position of the hotel is good being on the edge of a very busy fume filled city. Having it's own beach was an added bonus. I agree with a previous reviewer the russians are now beating the germans at getting the towels out. The staff were extremely pleasant and the only fault i could name was the extensive building going on in the vicinity. We were placed on the opposite side to the building work so experienced no noise, but as the work progresses it would be sensible to check on this potential problem. Whilst i could quite happily stay at this hotel again, once in Pattaya was enough.
Loved this place!

This place is very beautiful! We stayed in the Aisawan Club Room whic overlooked the beautiful beach and ocean. This room has now gone up in price so we cannot stay there again when we head back next year but if you can afford it, I highly recommend it! This Aisawan Club Room gives you breakfast in a separate restaurant, free cocktails between 5-6pm each day and other special priveledges. The only proble with this hotel is that the pools are always busy. Guests get down there at 6am and put their towels there so when you wake up at 9 or 10, you will not be able to get a spot next to the pool. But there is a private beach there as well which was lovely so this didn't matter as much. The rooms are clean and nice but that may have been because I was staying in the bext room. But I am sure all the other rooms would be nice as well. The staff are very friendly here and there arefree shuttles into town each morning and night as it is about a 15 minute walk into town. This was good though as you didn't have all the action directly outside your hotel room. Overall, I think this place is great and would not hesitate to stay here again if the price was right!!!
Somewhere quiet in Pattaya

Arrived Feb for extended stay. Had booked superior room but shown upgraded de luxe. This was anything but , small , limited wardrobe space- very basic Eventualy settled on "Club" upgrade at around £18 per night. This well worth the expense ie modern well equiped room and Breakfast taken in the Bay Leaf Restaurant with almost Butler Service. Rarely more than 2-3 other couples. Also included Cocktail Hour at the Spa with nibles! Other small perks , ie beach towels- morning paper etc. All restaurants served very nice meals - well presented- fairly priced for the quality . The Bay Leaf for the special evening meal exceptionly good. Two decent swimming pools with predomently teak sunbeds . Plastic ones variable. Could do with more Sunshades. Right by the narrow beach with extra deck chairs. Usual menace of German & Russian Sunbed reservers- Get down to pool early. Main Building Modern and well furnished. Good Lift Serice Imposing approach and nice lounges. All staff very pleasant. Location - just right for those who dont want the main resort hassle. Other Restaurants a few minutes away with 10 min walk to main road and 20 minute walk to Start of Pattaya main Promnade . If staying in this area again would use The Aisawan but only upgraded to Junior Suite or Club.
Stunning

Aisawan was an absolute dream. Before I left, I read some reviews calling it a "mediocre" hotel but I go travelling several times every year and Aisawan was one of the best hotels I have stayed at. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful and always smiling. The grounds were beautiful. The two large swimming pools were clean and spacious and it was a few footsteps from the beach. The restaurants were nice though the "Bayleaf" was slightly expensive. The breakfast buffet if you get it is expansive and tasty. To be honest, I can't fault the hotel or its staff. Overall, a perfect place to stay.
