I have just returned from a week here...
9 / 10
Nov 2004, Mrs D Warburton

I have just returned from a week here with my husband and 19-year-old disabled daughter. We were thrilled with our first visit to Lanzarote - delightful island, much to see and do, everywhere absolutely spotless - low rise whitewashed buildings with either blue or green paintwork. Playa Blanca was lovely - probably too quiet for the young or tattoo/all day English breakfast brigade, but that is what attracted us and we were not disappointed.
The walks along the promenade in either direction were lovely, but the new and very swish Rubicon Marina was a delight. The very upmarket shops, cafes and yachts in the marina kept us interested. The Lanzarote Princess was superb. We were given a suite at no extra charge to accommodate our daughter in her wheelchair - the hotel is superb for anyone disabled or with limited mobility. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food was lovely - especially from the cooking stations - I am missing my specially cooked omelettes every morning!
The Animation Team were young, enthusiastic and lively.
We didn’t partake in the daytime activities as we are not into that kind of thing. The evening entertainment (about 1 hour each evening) suited us fine. The team’s interpretation of 'Cinderella' was a hoot and their 'Starlight Express' was superb. Other evenings there were professional entertainers who were all great. A Jamaican 'Rock the Boat' trio of young men were fantastic. All the entertainers were great with the small children (only about 6 of them) and were fabulous with our daughter, who also has special needs - giving her special attention.
My only complaint was that the pools were very cold, even the supposedly heated one - that is why I give a 9 rating and not a 10! We are booking for next September and already looking forward to a return to this lovely island. Thank you everyone at the Lanzarote Princess.

This is an excellent choice of hotel...

May 2004, Miss S Tait

This is an excellent choice of hotel for people wanting to relax and soak up the Canarian sun around a delightful pool area. Friendly staff in pleasant surroundings meets you. Although this is not one of the new and modern hotels that has been built in the last few years it is one of the friendliest, which is why people go back year after year, including myself who returned to stay in the hotel after I spent a year working there. The food and service in this hotel is excellent and gives you a wide choice of meals including themed foreign cuisine. Its situation has to be one of the best in Playa Blanca as it is close by (to in my opinion)one of the nicest beaches on the island. It is a five minute walk from the centre of town or two minutes away to the promenade filled with local cafes and restaurants that will take you into the town. The only slight let down of this hotel is the Entertainment as even the professional shows were poor, but the Piano bar with a small dance floor and live music was very good and geared towards couples who liked to dance (ballroom).

H10 Lanzarote Princess is 30 minutes...
6 / 10
Feb 2004, Mrs L Dickin

H10 Lanzarote Princess is 30 minutes by taxi from Arrecife airport, approximately 27 euros. Ideally situated near to shops and restaurants and 500m to the centre of Playa Blanca. Hotel getting old now, but improvements were being carried out on a daily basis, which causes noise and some irritation.

Staff pleasant and helpful. Suites spacious and well equipped, but fixtures starting to look its age. Public rooms well maintained with plenty of staff covering tables. The main entertainment lounge has quite a few pillars obscuring the view of the stage unless you get there early for a seat and then you had to sit through the mini disco! The evening entertainment left a lot to be desired and its visiting performers were mediocre to say the least.

Buffet meals were disappointing and did not deserve it’s 4* rating. Tables were cramped together and the restaurant very noisy. Not a place to sit and enjoy a relaxed evening meal, in pleasant surroundings. The emphasis being on to eat and go! Food lacked taste and imagination.

Daytime activities were varied and enjoyable and the team worked well with all age groups. The pool area was clean and well maintained with plenty of sun beds, umbrellas and shade. The pools were extremely cold. The nearest beach is some 300m away. Clientele more elderly on longer winter breaks, but families visit during the school holidays.

Not a place for the young and lively! This hotel needs to address areas for improvement to keep its 4* rating, mainly the food and entertainment. This hotel is not cheap. We would definitely not pay brochure price, perhaps one to consider on a late deal. Overall a pleasant enough stay, a quiet location with everything to hand. Unfortunately for us it did not live up to it’s reputation.

One word can describe our stay at Lanzarote Princess - FANTASTIC! The food was absolutely delicious, the rooms were stunning and the staff were very helpful and so polite! My family and I will definitely go again! Playa Blanca is a very friendly resort with alot of shops and places to eat. I would recommend to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday to go here, you will not regret it.

The Lanzarote Princess is a ****...
7 / 10
Jun 2003, cad16

The Lanzarote Princess is a **** hotel within 5 minutes walking distance to the centre of Playa Blanca. I would recommend this hotel. The food was excellent. They had themed nights - Chinese, Canarian, and Italian - which made for more variety. There was also a separate children’s buffet.
The hotel bedrooms were a little small for us. I travelled with my husband and two children.
There is a piano bar where they have a happy hour each evening 5-6pm. Over the road from the hotel is a rather nice Irish bar. There are also several bars and restaurants in the centre of Playa Blanca itself. I didn’t see any nightclubs; it is a very quiet place.
I would recommend hiring a car as we did. I would definitely take a trip to fire mountain and of course a camel ride. There is a ferry runs from Playa Blanca harbour several times a day which takes you to Fuerteventura.
