First Choice are always our 1st choice for holidays and have always been exceptional.
We took a short break to the H10 Lanzarote Princess on a HB basis and were absolutely disappointed.
It is tired, dark, the rooms are very 1970's the reception staff made no effort to relocate us to a refurbished room, the rep cared even less, merely selling trips was his wish, that he failed on I can add.
We finally got relocated and the room was fine. But how they or anyone can call it
4 star, I do not know, it was not 4 star.
The pool was ok, very windy. But that’s Lanzarote for you. Entertainment suited the older clientele. Main bar was tidy with very good attentive staff
Needless to say I would not go back again to that hotel, but the resort was clean and tidy.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Lanzarote Princess and we had a great time. The hotel is gorgeous and kept clean at all times - your bedrooms, pool area, reception etc.
There is a gate at the back of the pool which is swipe card access, which leads you onto the road & 2 minutes you are at the beach or strolling into Playa Blanca itself. Only bad point with the gate is that it locks at 7pm, so you have to walk around the outside of the hotel and come back through main reception - which isn't far, we were just lazy?!
The evening entertainment is good if you have young children (and you can find a seat!) as there is a disco early evening, followed by a evening show. But my partner and I did find the shows slightly boring and the piano bar across reception is very nice and relaxing but not our sort of thing. We 26/27 years old and knew it wouldn't be a lively holiday/hotel - we were in bed by 12.00! If you want a lively, clubbing holiday, this isn't for you. Great for families and older guests.
We went on the catamaran trip which we would highly recommend. We also caught the courtesy shuttle bus over to the sister hotel H10 Rubicon - this is a must, 5 swimming pools -gorgeous hotel!
Weather in June was great & very hot - it's good that the island gets a breeze! However, we did have 2 days of cloudy (quite cold) weather, but I still got burnt!
Overall, we had a great relaxing holiday. The hotel staff are brilliant (watch out for the waiters who wait for you to tip them every time?!) We are now looking to go to another H10 hotel.

I have just returned from a two week holiday. My hotel was very relaxing and clean and I would highly recommend staying unless you are looking for a lad/ladette holiday. The disabled facilities are also very good.
The day time entertainment both for children and adults is excellent or you can laze by the pool (there is a cost of 0.60 cents for a mattress and towel for your sun lounger (no cost to just use the lounger) which I thought was well worth purchasing each day.
The beach is a 5 minute walk from the hotel (but be warned it is across a busy main road. You can hire a lounger on the beach for the day which costs 2.5 euros a day so it cost us 7.5 euros (two beds and one umbrella).
Weather most days was excellent though by the pool can be breezy.
The restaurant was had a very good selection and has themed nights. The staff are very helpful. Money saving tip - all drinks are served in wine glasses so order water with you dinner and you get 3 glasses per bottle. Other soft drinks are expensive.
There are two bars in the hotel both of which are very different in entertaining but again there are plenty of bars and restaurants to visit. There is a promenade at the top of the beach which became one of the main decisions on this holiday (shall we go left or right) to take us to a bar.
Trips worth considering are the Catalanza trip (on a catamaran) which is a set price and all food/drink included (it slightly more than some of the other trips but the small extra meant the only money needs was for our picture taken on the trip).
Also the yellow submarine (leaves same harbour as the catamaran) was very enjoyable and you get a certificate stating you have dived to 40 metres in the Atlantic Ocean and again for a nominal price you buy a photo of you on the sub.
The Grand tour (the one that includes a trip on a camel and goes to the national volcanoes park) is also a good way to see part of the island and the meal that was included was nice.
Ok now for the not so good bits and there were a couple of these.
The hotel restaurant does get busy between 8am - 9.30am re breakfast and 7pm - to 8pm for dinner so if I would advise you to go either before or after these times.
There are no tea/coffee facilities in your room. The balcony light comes on automatically and goes off at 11pm.
If you have a pigeon phobia this hotel is not the place for you.
Trip not (in my opinion) not value for my money was the Jeep Safari, did not spend much time in one place and the meal inc in the price was not worth serving. If you want a quick tour of 3/4 island then this is the trip for you.
All in all Playa Blanca is good place to go for families/couples and would go back there again.

My husband and I really enjoyed are holiday at the Lanzarote princess hotel. All the staff where very welcoming.
I am a disabled person and every consideration was taken by the staff.
The food was extremely tasty. The bedrooms where cleaned every day. New towels every day. Beds made every day.
The only bad thing about the hotel was the entertainment in the evening was a bit poor, but that didn’t worry us to much.
We would like to go back next year.

This hotel has gone downhill - we have been going for 8 years and this time will be our last.
We were also taken in by the great camera scam! Be careful if you venture into a camera shop in Playa Blanca - they will sell you a camera cheaply enough that's not the problem. The problem comes when you try to leave the shop - they tell you all sorts of stories about how the camera will not work on your computer, it has a ROM memory instead of a RAM and will not let you leave until you part with more money.
We tried to complain and were told - well you will leave and another plane load of English tourists will arrive! - Be careful.

We have spent two weeks at the Lanzarote Princess and came back on 2nd March. We can highly recommend this Hotel to anybody who is looking for a relaxed holiday in friendly surroundings with excellent service all round.
The Hotel was fully booked while we were there, but we never felt crammed or rushed. The room was clean and recently decorated with the sun on the balcony after 2 o'clock. A good place for a drink or two at sunset! Before dinner. There was no tea making facilities in the room, so we bought a little kettle in the shop across the road.
We do not normally book half board, as we like to go out and explore the restaurants in the vicinity, but we had no option this time for just B&B. The buffet was so good though in the evening, that we ended up going out every other night. A good compromise! The breakfast buffet was also very good. Anything you wanted and the bread was always fresh. The croissants came hot out of the oven.
The weather was a bit cold for the time of the year, but there was enough sun for a couple of hours by the pool each day to work on our colour scheme. For a bit of exercise we walked the boulevard along the front. The big decision of the day always was to either go left or right for our walk. We hired a car for a week at 122 Euro all in, which gave us a chance to explore the rest of the Island. It is amazing how beautiful a heap of clinker starts to look after you have read all about the way it was created by volcanoes!
Our favorite place now is El Golfo. To see the sun go down behind the azure coloured ocean rollers, whilst eating some lovely fresh fish on a little terrace right next to the beach takes some beating!
Altogether a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. We will be back!
PS It's raining and cold in Guernsey at present. Get me out of here!

My partner and I have just returned from the Lanzarote Princess where we had a very enjoyable holiday.
The room was well decorated, the bathroom was fine and NOT dirty as has been said by other reviewers.
The staff were all very nice except the "greeter" at the restaurant entrance whose English was poor and whose manner very abrupt. The food was very good and the variety fine. The breakfast omelettes and chef cooked food was very nice. The piano bar was very relaxing and the service good. The car hire from the hotel is to be recommended, and well priced. Don't order through your rep!
Playa Blanca is very nice and quiet in February. The island itself is lovely and we would recommend seeing it by car so that you can visit all the Cesar Manrique sites.
We went on a day trip to Fuerteventura with Last Minute tours(in the village), which again we would recommend.

The public areas of the hotel are very nice BUT the room was very disappointing - definitely not up to 4 star standard, the bathroom would struggle to make 1 star!
The decor and furniture were shabby, the grouting in the bathroom was filthy, the tiles marked and cracked, and the bath has none of the original surface left, the base was quite literally black with wear and tear it would make you feel dirty to use it! The taps twisted off the wall and the light fitting was very rusty. Our room faced north and got no sun except at around 8am and was quite cold.
The poor room quality was a real shame as the public areas and swimming pool area are lovely (although the water was freezing), the food was good both in quality and variety and the location is very good – 5 mins walk from the beach, 10 min from town. They also had entertainment for kids and shows every night. The resort of Playa Blanca is lovely, fairly small, low-rise and clean.
Not for teenagers or 18-30’s though, as not much nightlife.
I would return to the resort but would hesitate to recommend the hotel UNLESS I was guaranteed that the rooms had been refurbished.

Spent a week at the Lanzarote Princess, Playa Blanca, Lanzarote & thoroughly enjoyed it. Booked through Direct Holidays after seeing the same in Thomson’s brochure.
Not too many young kids, but a lot of Spanish & a few Germans. Food good for buffet style restaurant, & they provided an early breakfast on request (our flight was at 08.30). Entertainment was average in two bars. Staff friendly enough.
The only problem we had was with the safe which we couldn’t get to work for 2 days, and it wasn’t until I threatened them by saying I wanted my money back, did they send someone down to our room to sort it out.

This was our fourth visit to the Lanzarote Princess and it was just as we remembered. Good value for money and in a great position in Playa Blanca.
The food was very good and although we were in a room, which had not been updated, it was clean and comfortable. The towels and bed linen were changed almost every day and were of a good quality. No need to take beach towels as they were supplied with the sunbed mattresses for a nominal amount daily.
The staff were always on hand to help with any problems and always greeted the guests with a smile. (especially the young man who took our luggage to the room) The Animation Team worked very hard and put on some good shows. The guest artists were also of a good standard.
All in all we had a lovely holiday at the Princess and will definitely be going back either later this year or early next year. I don’t know how any one could complain about this hotel as it was good value for money and if you want five star plus then pick a hotel of that standard.

I have just returned from a week here with my husband and 19-year-old disabled daughter. We were thrilled with our first visit to Lanzarote - delightful island, much to see and do, everywhere absolutely spotless - low rise whitewashed buildings with either blue or green paintwork. Playa Blanca was lovely - probably too quiet for the young or tattoo/all day English breakfast brigade, but that is what attracted us and we were not disappointed.
The walks along the promenade in either direction were lovely, but the new and very swish Rubicon Marina was a delight. The very upmarket shops, cafes and yachts in the marina kept us interested. The Lanzarote Princess was superb. We were given a suite at no extra charge to accommodate our daughter in her wheelchair - the hotel is superb for anyone disabled or with limited mobility. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food was lovely - especially from the cooking stations - I am missing my specially cooked omelettes every morning!
The Animation Team were young, enthusiastic and lively.
We didn’t partake in the daytime activities as we are not into that kind of thing. The evening entertainment (about 1 hour each evening) suited us fine. The team’s interpretation of 'Cinderella' was a hoot and their 'Starlight Express' was superb. Other evenings there were professional entertainers who were all great. A Jamaican 'Rock the Boat' trio of young men were fantastic. All the entertainers were great with the small children (only about 6 of them) and were fabulous with our daughter, who also has special needs - giving her special attention.
My only complaint was that the pools were very cold, even the supposedly heated one - that is why I give a 9 rating and not a 10! We are booking for next September and already looking forward to a return to this lovely island. Thank you everyone at the Lanzarote Princess.

We have just returned from the most relaxing and enjoyable holiday at the Lanzarote Princess. Upon arriving the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful - this continued throughout our stay. The food was varied and there was a huge choice both for breakfast and dinner although the quality could have been slightly improved.
Our room was well decorated clean and tidy - we requested a ground floor room as we have a toddler and they accommodated this for us. The pool area was lovely with a special children’s pool and plenty of sun beds. We would arrive back from a walk at 1pm and still get sun beds without any problems.
The drinks were cheaper at the hotel than at the beachside bars but there is a lovely path that takes you all along Playa Blanca. This is a quiet resort for families more than a young person’s resort which was perfect for us. There wasn't any noise at night and the restaurants served breakfast until 10.30am which was great.
We will definitely be returning to this hotel again - everything was how it looks on the website if not better and it is well worth a visit!
