Absolutely fantastic!! Beautiful...

Absolutely fantastic!! Beautiful hotel with great buffet meals and a good variety of food on offer. Just a short walk to shops and across a road to the beach. Down by the beach there was a Burger King (across from the hotel).
Rooms were very nice and spacious, we used a travel cot from the hotel which was exactly the same as the one we own (didn't take it as it takes up quite a bit of your luggage allowance).
Good play park and crazy golf. Beautiful big pool and children’s pool. Quite windy which was a good thing I felt as it made the heat a bit more bearable!!
Would definitely recommend and go again!

We booked a holiday to the Lanzarote...
8 / 10
Oct 2007, Mr L Day

We booked a holiday to the Lanzarote Princess and then read the reviews! They were not good and gave a picture of a hotel that was really run down.
I sent an email to Airtours requesting a room that had been refurbished. When we arrived the reception area was massive, we were allocated a lovely room facing the pool with a sea view.
There were plenty of sunbeds and the animation team did not hassle you.
Food was very nice with lots of variety. Play Blanca is a quiet resort with a lovely beach. You can get the ferry across to Fuerteventura. In the other direction to the ferry there is a lovely new marina with shops and bars.
We have been to Lanzarote before and stayed at Puerto del Carmen and this time was much better, not so commercialised.
All in all a very relaxing holiday, which was well worth the money and we are glad that we didn’t change the accommodation. Yes it is quite dated but is clean and the staff are very friendly.

Just returned from lovely 2 weeks at...

Sep 2007, Zola

Just returned from lovely 2 weeks at the Lanzarote Princess. I must admit that I have stayed at other 4 star hotels, which have been very modernised and have the wow factor, and this hotel is not like those.
I would say it gets the 4 star rating because of its facilities, but like the previous review says, the decoration wouldn’t put me off staying there again, as the location was excellent and everything else about the hotel was great.
The room was spacious with 2 separate wardrobes. We originally got a room facing the back of the hotel, and overlooking the service road, so we asked reception if we could move and there and then they offered us a pool side room. We couldn’t see the pool, because of trees, but it was much quieter and it got the sun in the morning, which we found better.
My opinion of the food is quite mixed. The breakfast was a bit greasy, but they had good choices. Some nights the evening meals were lovely, and quite a bit of choice, but other nights it wasn’t as good. If we stay there again, we might eat out on some days.
The pool is quite large, and we always found beds for 3 of us, in the afternoon (we used to have a walk in the mornings, and come back to the hotel after dinner) sometimes we managed to get spare mattresses, when people had gone back to their rooms and left them. If we were staying the full day we would hire them, which costs 60cents each mattress (plus you get a towel)
The weather was glorious, some days cloud, but the sun would always find a way round.
We would definitely stay in Playa Blanca again, and would probably go back to this hotel.

I can certainly recommend a stay at...

Jul 2007, Mrs D Nolan

I can certainly recommend a stay at the Lanzarote Princess. With a 5 year old child, this hotel had plenty to keep us all happy.
We stayed in a family room on the ground floor which had plenty of space and a reasonable sized bed for the child.
The pool had plenty of sun beds and although the notices said 'no reserving with towels' people did, but if you wandered out there between 9 and 10 you could still get one.
The pools were a little cold when you first got in, but I don't think that any pools in Lanzarote are really heated? Weather was fab for the week (7th June) with a light cloud in the morning that burnt off in the afternoon.
My daughter loved the mini club and joined in the daytime activities as and when it suited us - kids could be dropped off/collected for which ever activities took their fancy.
The food was fantastic and we all struggled to get the jeans on going home. We had a free upgrade to full board, from half board, because of the dates we travelled. So we could go into the main restaurant at lunchtime. Although with the extensive breakfast and evening meals you don't really need it!
I'd noticed a few people grumbling on review websites that this hotel is starting to look tatty and in need of renovating and I have to say there are places where it could do with a lick of paint and some more modern decor. But the real plus of this hotel is the location, the efficiency and friendliness of the staff and the food!
So the odd bit of flaky paint isn't going to spoil my holiday. So much so that we have already booked to go back the same week next year.

Returned from our holiday at the H10...

Jun 2007, Mrs  Hawcroft

Returned from our holiday at the H10 Princess today after a super week with the family.
Were a bit worried before we left about reviews saying the pool was like a building site.
Well we can say we never saw a builder in site. Everything was clean the pool was spotless and food out of this world. They even cater for the children with their own buffet area.
Very near to the beach and shopping facilities. Would certainly revisit this hotel.

Apr 2007, Ms L Brannigan

What a fabulous holiday we had. It is great for the kids and adults alike.
The staff were excellent, the food was great but the pools were a little chilly. It took me 10 days out of a 14 day holiday to get in but I did it and very proud of myself I was.
I would recommend this hotel, especially if you have kids, you get a little time to relax by the pool yourself as the kids club is great and it is very safe.
The only complaint I have is we had to come home. Will 100% go back again.
If you go enjoy.
I must add the entertainment staff were the best, thanks Christian,Kim,mika, manu and anyone else we have missed.

This was our third time at the hotel....

Apr 2007, Mrs M Baxter

This was our third time at the hotel. Although the hotel is now looking tired and in need of a thorough refurb, our room was kept very clean by the cleaning staff who were very pleasant.
As we have been there over Easter, we expected it to be very busy but were unprepared for the hoards of unsupervised kids who seemed to have the run of the place from dawn until dusk.
This was annoying to us but extremely frightening to the small children in the hotel when teenagers took over the youngsters' pool area with a ball game. On several days, Security had to take control of the situation.
There appeared to be little or no parental control. We had no alternative but to steer clear of the hotel during the day and go to the beach.
We have been going to Playa Blanca since 1999 and have noticed in recent years that there seems to be a sinister "under-belly" appearing at the resort.
An earlier review refers to the camera scam and we would whole-heartedly agree with the comments made in that review.
Although we did not experience/be on the receiving end of any scams, our experience via our professional lives warned us to steer clear of certain outlets! Otherwise, the resort is very clean and tidy.
Despite the above comments - we very much enjoyed our holiday.

I was really worried about going to...

Feb 2007, Ms K Francis

I was really worried about going to this hotel after reading so many terrible reviews.
However I am glad I did because we had a great time.
The accommodation was great, hotel entertainment was great, food was great and the staff were great.
The location was brilliant as the beach was just over the road and there is a path which runs along the beach all the way to the new harbour on to the left (10 minutes) and the old port to the right.
The hotel is very relaxed and yes, I admit the crowd was more senior and family orientated, however I am in my 30s and I certainly did not feel that its facilities were tailored around this age group.
The hotel is relaxed and certainly has class.

We are a couple in the 25-35 age...

Jan 2007, Mrs J E Ponter

We are a couple in the 25-35 age range.
Although we had a lovely holiday, I have to agree with some of the more negative comments; this is definitely not a 4 star hotel. The decor is extremely dated and shabby.
The staff (particularly reception) were very helpful when we requested a room change (we moved rooms twice!).
The food selection is very good, I was impressed that they had Soya milk and healthy breakfast cereals, the evening meals were varied but nothing too special...tinned fruit, frozen veg etc.
Entertainment - The piano bar was nice and catered for the majority of guests who were much older than us and the bar staff were very friendly. The main evening entertainment by the animations team was awful...they just mimed along to well known musicals.
There were two nights when they paid outside entertainers to come in and this was really good. We found some good bars with live musicians in the town so stuck to that most nights.
The pool area is ok but the pool itself is too cold.
You had to hire a mini fridge if you wanted one...cheeky!
The island and the resort of Playa Blanca were lovely and we enjoyed exploring the island in a hired car, you can see most of the island in two days.
The location of the hotel is great but everything else about it is just ok.

This Hotel as one of mine and my...

Jan 2007, Miss J Okeefe

This Hotel as one of mine and my sisters best holiday's.
It was very comfortable as soon as we walked into the reception my whole family thought wow!

But, once we had got to are room our amazement turned into disappointment, the room was just too small. We contacted the reception and luckily they relocated us to a more comfortable family room.
The pool was brilliant and a small park for my little sister was ideal. There was dinner every night from about 6:00 and they'd have lots of different themes say, one night it would be Mexican and then another Chinese so that was another good point.

After that my sister and I would go to the children's disco, which we'd really enjoy by then we had made friends so it was better for us at the disco.
There was a hairdresser and souvenir shop so that was very handy.
With our key we could also get out to the town and beach out of a back gate located in the pool area.
We really enjoyed our holiday and we strongly recommend it if you haven't been there already, its great for the all family and full of entertainment.
I myself, have been asking again and again if we can go there and I do hope we do its a family holiday I will remember forever.

This hotel is now very out of date...
2 / 10
Dec 2006, Mr B Newnham

This hotel is now very out of date and tired. 1980's decor and scuffed gold/marble are wherever you go.
The room we had was depressing and poorly decorated and did not match the brochure pictures. The hotel caters primarily for a very elderly and perhaps undemanding crowd.
It desperately needs to be closed and reformed. This is not good for first impressions. Given the number of offers to guests for a chance to transfer for free to a sister hotel down the road - the Rubicon. I would strongly recommend you do this as Rubicon is significantly better.
The H10 group is just being let down here by poor infrastructure as their other hotels are great.
The hotel staff are helpful and pleasant but they cannot disguise the fact this hotel is now really is a 3* hotel pretending to be 4*.

Nov 2006, Mrs S Higgins

Just returned from a week at the Lanzarote Princess. A friendly and well run hotel, I agree with the comment that the hotel is a bit "tired", but it is clean and tidy.
Plenty of shops in the area, lots of nice walks and boat trips. With regards to the hotel entertainment we saw one act called the sound of the Drifters and they were excellent (we are not normally a fan of hotel entertainment).
We have come back from the holiday feeling very refreshed and relaxed. Well worth a visit if you wish to chill.
