Impiana Resort Hotel

This was the final part of our holiday after travelling around Thailand and it was a perfect end to a perfect holiday. Fantastic staff, great food and a comfortable hotel. Yes the rooms are basic - but who spends time in their room when visiting such a beautiful place. We stayed at Impiana for 3 nights. Chaweng Noi beach is very very beautiful, I think it's the best beach at Koh Samui so that was good. The breakfast, spa, staff, pool and some place in the garden was okay. But the hotelbuilding was ugly and boring and the room was AWFUL. I recomend you to stay at Imerial if you want to live at Chaweng noi. We never lived there because it was fullboked but it looks very nice at the outside.

After a long day travel we finally arrived at Impiana. Although nice and friendly personel, we had to get our luggage out of the cab and bring it upstairs to the reception desk. Then they apologized for being overbooked. Instead of 2 cottages with seaview ( we booked and payed already half a year ago) we got two very tiny noisy rooms at the busy roadside. Some of the other reviewers probably didn't stay in the standard room here. I have no idea what the deluxe room type looks like but the room I stayed in was really not very nice at all. It was the run of house room which was in the furthest back part of the resort so it was near the road. I know the standard room is supposed to be just that, standard, nothing fancy; but come on, this I have to be honest, looks like a staff room! We have just returned from 2 weeks staying at the Impiana Resort, the location is great it's on a lovely quiet beach away from the main resort, the standard of accommodation isn't great we had a superior room that had seen better days there were wires sticking out of the walls and one of the bedside units was missing, the one thing that made up for it was the fantastic sea view. I was recommended the Impiana at the last minute after our original hotel closed unexpectedly. I was quite impressed with this hotel in all respects. The pool is not huge but most people swim in the sea anyway. The cost of food is not cheep, much like every other hotel, but there are 3 or 4 beach front restaurants about a 1 minute walk along the beach from the hotel. there was also a little beach stand right next to the hotel selling drinks fresh fruit, snacks and glorious fruit shakes for a song!! We stayed in the Impiana for three nights. It is hard to be objective, as we have been to Thailand several times and a lot of things have changed for the worse as a consequence of mass tourism. Ko Samui has become a horrible tourist trap in our opinion, don't expect any Thai authencity, do expect prices that are much much higher than in the rest of the country, such as the nearby beautiful island Ko Pha ngan. Impiana - don't get fooled by 'superior' sea view room. Balconies on several rooms you had to stand to see the sea! Basic rooms but don't need to spend time in them really. Water always hot. Clean. Grounds well maintained. Not alot of entertainment - beach bar always closed by 11pm. During the day happy hour from 4-7pm - only time anyone really used the bar. what can i say. for the small pricetag it was a fantastic hotel. beautifully clean and magnificent beach. Massage parlor on beachfront .... paradise. a word of advise use the laundry man next door on the beach for 100 baht - we made the mistake of using the hotels service for 3000 baht!!!!!! still im going back!!! cant wait

The staff at this hotel are excellent. The hotel's facilites are not. The swimming pool is very small for a beachside hotel and does not appear to be cleaned that frequently. The baby pool is about the size of a blanket. My kids were disappointed with the pools. The pool lights also went out at about 7pm at night, so not much time for a night-time swim.
