My husband and I had our honeymoon here and absolutely fell in love with Koh Samui and the Imperial Boathouse hotel. From the moment we arrived we were warmly greeted by the reception staff and given a welcome drink (like an apple tea) and some flowers.
We had the honeymoon suite which was gorgeous with petals on the bed, fruit and a bottle of champagne.
The hotel grounds are stunning and there is a lovely atmosphere to the hotel. The hotel is very clean.
The staff will do anything for you and are very friendly
The breakfast buffets are great with a selection of all sorts and waiters going round topping up your tea or coffee.
The hotel is situated right on the beach so you can walk between the pool and the beach whatever you choose. We loved the beach there, quiet so could always find a nice spot, and there are also some lovely beach bars too, very laid back and relaxing. Was perfect spot for honeymoon but 5/10 mins taxi away you could go to the busier area for more restaurants.
Would definitely recommend this hotel and Koh Samui - truly a beautiful place.

We stayed in one of the boat suites in the hotel and it was utterly superb. The attention to detail is second to none. Everything from the staff to the maintenance of the grounds is tremendous.
We stayed in the month of September (rainy season) but never seen any at all. The weather was excellent and in the 90's every day. Do not be put off by booking in September...!
The only things that I could say was are bit disappointing is the sea which was a bit murky but that could have been the time of season, and the distance into Chaweng, apprx 15 mins by car...
Apart from that nothing to put you off booking this hotel.Overall, a great hotel in a truly magnificent setting.

I spent two weeks in Thailand on a girl’s holiday with my mum. It was the most ideal setting for two weeks of pampering. We ordered cocktails at the various bars backing onto the beach and enjoyed many of the varied delights Koh Samui had to offer. The spa at the hotel was absolutely wonderful and we had two treatments done there but i recommend asking the people who do beauty treatments on the beach as there prices were much lower and they do very good massages (however if you want your nails painted bring your own colour!) The beaches were beautiful and the people exceptionally friendly.
The food was delicious and it was very cheap to eat out there. We spent many evenings at the mushroom bar where we watched people performing fire poi. One of my lasting memories of the holiday was learning to do poi on the beach from the friendly people who lived there. We found it easy to contact people back home with an internet cafe opposite the hotel (the one in the hotel was far to expensive!).
We upgraded our room halfway through the holiday and stayed in one of the hotels boats in the garden. They are rice boats that have been converted to rooms. The baths were huge and there was a balcony section at the front of the boat which was perfect for sunbathing! The grounds of the hotel were beautifully kept and they made every extra effort with the small details that they could. There was entertainment with the evening meal. The hotel was very clean, the swimming pools were wonderful and the food was delicious.
The shops there were fairly similar but there is certainly plenty to buy in the way of souvenirs. I also bought some beautiful jewelry, a patchwork bag and we visited the dressmakers who made us some beautiful dresses in Thai silk at a very low cost. Koh Smaui also have full moon parties where they take you to an island on a boat to party with other tourists/travelers/locals. If this is something that would interest you its worth timing your visit to run over a full moon of a half moon.
For the money you pay to take a holiday in Koh Samui you get so much more luxury than any other country. The locals are so courteous and kind and the scenery so beautiful.
There’s plenty to do and see (coconut plantations, beaches, the grandfather and grandmother rocks... etc).
I thoroughly recommend visiting Thailand. The people are wonderful and Koh Samui was beautiful.

beautiful hotel and rooms are fab but the entrance could be a little better i have been going for the last 5 years and has not been decorated it is looking a bit tired now .All the rooms have been updated twice in that time but not entry . One and only complaint is the bar prices which are very high .We did frequrnt the bar as the band that play there are excellent unfortunately guests went out for drinks and bar was always empty as they said the prices were more than double but we thought the band were worth it .Everything else at the hotel is just fab spotless luxurious and the staff excellent always willing to help with a big smile .There are new Hotels being built in Choeng Mon now which we think could spoil it if too many are built but thats progress i suppose .
