Below expectations
from Aghica
We stayed 11 days in this hotel and we had quite a lot of bad experiences. The hotel looks very nice...unfortunately only from outside. But inside it was absolutely below expectations, as it is supposed to be a 4 star hotel but practically it is quite far from that level. We new that it was a local classification, still we were very disappointed about the hotel and especially our room. The first thing was a terrible smell in the whole building, than the cleaningness of the rooms leaves much to be desired. The carpets and the walls were dirty and I had to make my pillow changed as there were strange dark stains on it. There was mould around the bath etc... At least the towels were changed every 2 days. The restaurant is average, waiters are polite. The food becomes very boring after a couple of days, the breakfast is almost the same every day, and you can also discover some food left from the day before remixed in a new form. Half board is not a good choice, because the drink is not included an it is very expensive, 1 small bottle cola (2 dl) costs 2 euro. The hotel has an own beach, you have to pay for the sunbeds, and the coast is quite dirty. We discovered a very nice beach about 20 minuts far from the hotel, called "Damlatas Beach", right at the Damlatas Cave, at the rocks. Otherwise Alanya is a nice place, do not leave without diving, it is fantastic. We also went to a boat trip and we saw dolphins and big sea turtles. We had a pleasant stay but we tried to spend the less time possible in the hotel. In Alanya there are thousands of nice hotels, I would never go back to this hotel again.
Fun Loving Staff

Date 23 April 2008 Reviewer: David J Innes (Glasgow, Scotland) This was the first time we have been to Turkey and although I was a bit apprehensive,. that quickly dissapeared as soon as we arrived at this hotel. First things first: Hygiene is ''first class' , it cannot be faulted. Every member of the hotel staff has a role to play and they do it very well. Not once did I notice raised voices or calamities in the excecution of their duties The room was very clean and attended to each and every day by the maids. It was functional though I would have liked tea/coffee making facilties in the room. That is my only concern. The food was freshly made and accomodated european tastes very well with a wide variety on display during my stay. The staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you. If you happen to meet Abdoullah and your British, just welcome him with 'Wae aye man' or 'See you Jimmy' it's a private joke but I guarantee you will enjoy your stay. In fact we are going back this year. See you there.
Loved the Dreams Beach

Me & my 3 friends were staying there for one week. Absolutely nice hotel; clean, pleasant, spacy etc. Great staff and great food. Rooms were spacious, clean and wellcoming. There is a road next to the hotel but it's not a big road and not like too much trafic there. It's easy to go over to the beach which is very nice as well. Our room was at the 2nd floor and it wasn't noisy at all. It was cleaned every day by smiling maids :)
Turkish Delight
from steve94
This was our first holiday to Turkey and having received mixed reviews we were a little unsure of what to expect. However having arrived at the airport in Antalya every thing was perfect. The transfer is a little on the long side but we were made aware of this before booking the holiday, so no surprise. We arrived at the Hotel at around 07:00, were greeted and welcomed, and shown to the room which was very pleasant with great views overlooking the beach. I have to say we did not hear any traffic at all, and the air con was a must as temperatures hit 51. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant, the food we found was very good, breakfast was typically Turkish but there was plenty of cereal, fresh fruit, and fresh bread. The evening meals were excellent with penty of chioce, and the salad selection was very, very good indeed. The hotel has its own sun beds and umbrellas on the beach at a cost of 7ytl for two beds and an umbrella just under £3. It also has its own bar and the staff at the beach were absolutely fabulous and would look after your every need, you did not have to move off your bed, they would bring your drinks and food if you did not want to walk the 20yrds to the bar as the sand was very hot. The snacks at the beach bar were very good and cheap average 4ytl. Drinks at the hotel were average for the resort costing around £1.50 for half a litre, which was cheaper than the town centre, around the bars you could get drinks cheaper but not that much. The Hotel is about 25mins walk from the Harbour and town centre but there are many shops and bars on the way, you do get a little bit of hassle with people trying to get you into their shops and restraunts however, as the Dreams Beach is also fully inclusive we would just say Dreams Beach fully inclusive, and they would leave you alone. You can also catch the Dolmbus which is just around the corner and costs 1ytl to the centre. There are many tour operators who are far cheaper than Thomas Cooke and come with good feed back. We also ate outside of the Hotel one night even though we had half board and the food was very good. We did not go on any trips as we just chilled out each day at the beach, however we did go to the forts on the mountain and walked all the way back took us about 3-4hrs but the views are breath taking. Atlanya is a very big place with lots and lots of shops and restaraunts, but the Dreams Beach is just far enough away from the town to relax and chill but also close enough to the town to go and have a good night with the many bars and disco's. One thing to be aware of is most things are priced in Euro's, and this seems to be the preferred currency but we stuck to the Turkish Lira. We had 2.48 to the pound at home but got a better rate out there 2.58. WOULD GO BACK AND MAY DO SO SOON.
Pleasant place for a short break.

My boyfriend and I had a short stay of 5 days HB at the Hotel Kleopatra Dreams Beach in Alanya, Turkey. When we arrived, after a very long late night transfer, we were ready to get our heads down for a couple of hours. The staff were pleasant, informative and were quick to see us to our room. When we woke that morning we were pleased to see a lovely sea view from our balcony and that our room was clean, spacious and had pleanty of storage areas. We had a mini bar, safe, air conditioning and maid service daily. We went for breakfast and saw many different foods on offer. Unfortunatly there was not much that we liked, as they had not really catered for us Brits. Most days we just ended up with cereal and some bread. One day we decided to go to a place that our holiday rep had told us about called 'Crusoe's', about 10 mins down the road in a taxi. There we had a proper English breakfast with Heinz baked beans! It really did taste good. Evening meals at the hotel were a bit better. Buffet style again but we still ended up dining out a couple of times, which led us to find a lovely restaurant 2 minutes away on foot called 'Beyaz'. The chef was very friendly and said even if we couldn't find anything on the menu that we fancied he might be able to rustle something else up. We didn't lounge by the hotels swimming pool as we visited the beach most days which was just across the main road. Although the pool area did look nice and well maintained we just perferred the beach. There was no evening entertainment during our stay apart from friday night, where Turkish dancers visited the hotel to put on a dull but thankfully short performance. All in all we had a pleasant short stay at Dreams Beach and spent many hours soaking up the rays, which was our main aim. However we would have been a little dissappointed if we had come here for a fortnights holiday.
Excellent hotel!

I've just returned from a holiday to this hotel. My dad and I had a brilliant time at Dreams Beach (as it is known locally) although the traffic could be only slightly heard from a nearby road, The staff were very polite and couldn't do enough for you. The food was good, especially in the evening when there was salad and loads of fresh fruit (to die for)! This hotel comes highly recommended by the two of us
Dreams Beach Hotel

We have just returned from a week in Turkey, staying at the Dreams Beach Hotel. We come from the UK, the hotel is quite a size, and there were only about 4 English couples there during our stay, mostly Swiss or Swedish - (can't remember seeing any Germans). To me this was a bonus as the other Europeans usually pay a lot more for their package holidays so the hotel is probably a better standard. The hotel is 6 floors high, we were on the 6th floor, again a bonus and the hotel is just across the road (very busy) from a beautiful beach and we had a FANTASTIC view. The pool closes about 6pm to make room for the chairs to dine outside for dinner. The food was lovely - buffet style as indicated - so don't expect TOO much (quality that is). Loads of salads, not too many chips and a few Turkish specialties. Breakfast catered for all nationalities so you could have cereal, cake or bread, cheese and ham. Not too good at the old English breakfast - but then again you are in Turkey. If they ask you on your first morning if you want freshly squeezed orange juice - be aware you will be charged for it, although only a couple of Euros. Don't do what we did and take £ travel cheques. You will be overcharged. Euros is best as everything is costed in euros or lira. We recommend a Turkish bath on the first morning of your holiday (especially if you have the night flight)- well worth the money but it does wash the top layer of your skin away, Brilliant if your preparing your body for a tan, crappy if your trying to preserve your tan. There is plenty to do in Alanya - the shopping is excellent for copy designer clothes but wait until you feel strong enough to brave it. Lovely castle ruins up on a hill, caves, etc for those of you who want to explore. Bit too windy ( out to sea) for scuba diving or the boats though You can get a bus from the sea front to town for one euro and they run all day and quite late into the night - think about every 10 -15 mins. Really easy and recommended as loads to do in town. Cheap to phone home using phone cards. Enjoy your stay
hated the hotel
from petervitch
the traffic noise is very very bad we could not sleep more than a few hours per night for two weeks because of the buses, cars motor bikes, taxis, lorrys. the hotel is situated on the slip road to the main dual carriageway form Analya to Antalya. The staff are very bad mannered and the hygene in the resuraunt was also very bad e.g. no gloves for serving food. The swimming pool is closed every night at 18-00 and it is not possible to sit down on the beach in the evening without being shouted at by the security guard.

Alanya is great!

Alanya was the right choice as a hoilday destination. Best holidays I ever had! Kleopatra Dreams Beach is an excellent hotel with friendly and service minded staff, beach itself was clean and even not that crowded. We did even survived trips to the market - owners were a bit pushy sometimes but it never came too far and rude. And there is always something to do - day or night!!!
