Just got back from 2 weeks staying at the Grand Okan Hotel in Alanya. The Hotel has just been completly refurbished and everything is very clean and modern the rooms have a shower, hair dryer, flat screen tv, fridge, (that you can put your own drinks in, buy them in Ozzys shop across the road its a lot cheaper than the hotel prices which are in Euros)and fairly comfortable twin beds. We stayed half board (big mistake) food awfull, some nights better than others, plenty of salad but nothing to go with it, fill up on the fresh loaves of crusty bread its lovely. Hotel was full of Germans which I think they cater for more than the English. Alanya is a very busy and quite large resort, everything is priced in Euros and Lira,(Haggle really hard to get a good price, start really low you can allways go up, if they let you walk out you know its about as low as they are going to go) a good Fri Market in the center of town or you can get a bus opposite the Hotel to Mangavet where there is a MASSIVE market Tues and Thurs. Went on a trip down the Green River Canyon very beautifull but it gets a bit boring after a while. Hope this helps, this is only my opinon.

The hotel was fab, really clean and clearly run like clockwork. Nothing was too much trouble, all the staff wehre very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and although the decor was a little dated we had a TV, minibar fridge and free airconditioning. When I booked I requested a room on level 2 or above with a sea view and thats what we got. We were on the 3rd floor and slightly away from the pool so noise wasn't an issue. The food at the hotel was of high standard but fairly "same old" in terms of the variety. We went end of June and there were no issues with insects or anything. There was the noise of what I assume was crickets which could get quite loud but again this wasn't an issue. We had to check out by noon and didn't fly til very late that night. The hotel allowed us a room to shower and change in and there was a seperate room near reception for our luggage.
Rather than paying cash every five minutes for drinks or an ice cream the hotel operate their own "credit card" system which made things easier - just be careful as it's easy to spend loads and end up with a huge bill at the end of your stay!
The hotel is literally across a non-busy road from the beach and it's all flat, no big hills to walk up or down. It's also far enough away from the harbour to avoid any noise nuisance but close enough that you could walk it in around 20/25mins but the bus was the best way to get around. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel only 1 TL each down to the harbour where all the action is. Ask to get off at the post office or the next stop from there then work your way in and to the left - this will bring you to the harbour where all the restaurants and bars are. There's something for all the family here.
We were on honeymoon, I'm 36 and my lovely wife is 24 - we enjoy the beach, having a few drinks and a bit of the club scene as well as taking in the sights and eating out. All of this is well catered for in Alanya. The Turkish people serve your every requirement. I even bought a nice watch from one of the traders - when he saw my existing watches' face was cracked he even took that and replaced the glass it looks like new! The only small criticism is that Turkey isn't as cheap as it used to be. Drinks were pricey eg. a shot of sambuca was equiv £3.40, a JD & coke was around £9 (we assumed u got a double for that) and cocktails ranged from £6.50-£10 each although many places did a happy hour which was a BOGOF offer. It was dubious how much alcohol was in the drinks though!
We had a fabulous honeymoon - there were other couples here, families and in the resort one or two larger groups but not really at the hotel which was nice. The nightlife was good too with some excellent open air night clubs - Havanna was the best!
Burcu (pronounced buju) on reception was most helpful to us and speaks excellent English. She called us her "best couple" - Please say hi from pete & Sam if u see her!
We also had some nice photos taken by Fabio the hotel photographer - he was great but don't be hassled to pay too much for your photos!
- Activities: The mexican place just along from Ron#bin Hood's bar was the best for the food!

Me and my best mate stayed here for a week in june and had a memorable time, and will definately come back to the same hotel next year.
1) HOTEL STAFF
The staff was very helpful and friendly, and any problems we did have they would always be there to help us. We made lots of friends here and can't wait to go back to see them all.
2) LOCATION
Perfect location, only 2 minutes to the beach. And approx 20 minutes stroll to the main part, the harbour, where the night light is amazing there!! Open air clubs, 3-4 storys high and great atmosphere. There are many beautiful places to see in Alanya which are all easy access from the hotel, we would recommend going to the castle, amazing amazing views of Alanya, Dalayman caves, 15 minutes stroll from the hotel, small inside but amazing... Magavaat is breathtaking, words cannot explain how beautiful this place is, like a mini niagra falls.. however you will have to book this via excursion as not local, approx 1-2 hours away.
3) ENTERTAINMENT
Entertainment was 3-4 times a week, varied from fashion shows to a snake show.. and also the tradition turkish dance.
4) FOOD
We stayed here Half Board and was pleasantly surprised, there was a hugh selection of food to try, varied each day and catered for all. The cakes was beautiful but be warned some can be very deceiving, but a very wide selection to choose from. Dinner was also very nice and we was never dissapointed with the choice we had to chose from.
5) GREEN PALM RESTAURANT
As guests in the Grand Okan hotel you would receive discounts in neighbouring restaurants, green palm restaurant is a must. We ate here several times for lunch and used to come here in the evening before going to the Harbour. The waiters Hassan and yousouf was very kind and always took care of us in here and was total gentleman. So as part of staying at the Grand Okan you also received discounts in the chain of this hotel.
The only negative we can say is that there is a lot of russans in the hotel and hardly any british, we did receive a few looks from them but some was very nice but it did not have any impact on our stay. We loved Alanya and this hotel and have started planning our holiday for next year! Can't wait.

The hotel and staff were great. We were there for a week and had no complaints at all. The rooms were clean and had a lovely sea view. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was varied and good with something for everyone. Entertainment 3-4 times a week was good. The private beach just across the road from the hotel was nice and quiet with plenty of room although this is at a small extra cost. Overall it was great and we would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Been going to this part of Turkey for years. Always have great time. First time in this hotel and the first time we have ever gone half board.
Food was great, big choice of foods. We do like to eat out but it was nice to have a choice a great Turkish night. We ate at hotel, watched show and went out about 10 o’clock
Manager and staff were lovely always ready to help. Beach across road, night life more in harbour area.
Do do do visit the Queens Garden Bar, it’s a great place for all ages. You will get a great welcome.
Well only one thing to be aware of the rooms are great for singles or couples, but we had our 11 year old granddaughter with us and she was on a zed bed next to us, it was ok for a week but not longer, so be careful when booking.

Stayed at Grand Okan for a week.
Positives: Food was great, lots of choices
View from rooms with sea view is excellent (2’nd floor and up)
Extensive breakfast menu
Air-conditioning 24 hours, very effective
Lots of amenities (shampoo, soap etc.)
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Negatives: Loud music from the pool bar (in turkey there’s only one volume and that’s full volume)
High prices for wine and beer, at the hotel (small glass of white wine: 3 euro) (water
In Bottle: 2 euro)
The hotel entertainer, a man in women’s dress is ridiculous and not funny, at all.

On arrival at the hotel we were told our room was not available and we were placed in another hotel across the road.We got our room the next day. The staff were really good and fun to be around. Food was okay if your not too fussy. Make sure to go on the red pirate boat for a trip. The pool was small but adequate. Lots of germans and dutch but we found them polite. Plenty of places to eat out. The coach trip could take up to 3 hours. On the whole a good base for a holiday in Alanya. We would use this hotel in the future.
