Me and my wife stayed in this hotel in 2004 and found it to be excellent.
Like the 1st reviewer, we upgraded and were amazed at the room quality and size.
The bathrooms are immense with massive shower cubicles and big baths -with music!
Very Clean hotel and the room service was also good (and not expensive).
Excellent food and very friendly staff (although this can be said of almost everywhere in Thailand).
The only downside is it's location as it's a bit far away from the main areas. Would recommend this as a short stay hotel to anyone.

My husband and I stayed in the Amari Atrium for 4 nights. We upgraded to a deluxe room, which was huge with an amazing bathroom. You could sit in the bath and look out across the city through the two big windows (there were wooden blinds).Everything spotlessly clean. All rooms have safe, minibar and tea and coffee making,
Breakfast was good, with lots of choice.
Pool was nice and there were plenty of loungers.
The hotel run a free bus to Patpong or night bazaar was good, and also free bus to Siam square/MBK during day.
Taxis all very cheap (make sure they are metered). Also sky train very good, efficient and clean. Used it to go to Chatuchak market, an experience not to be missed!
The only down side to this hotel is its location, it's a bit far out to walk anywhere, especially at night, but with free bus and cheap taxis it is not really a problem.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Amari Atrium and would recommend it.

We have just returned home from Thailand and all I can say is WOW, what a different holiday. We decided to go here because we were fed up with the usual European package holidays.
We first flew and stayed two nights in the Amari Atrium Hotel in Bangkok. This hotel is excellent, really, really nice. The rooms are huge with a huge bed and it has all you could ever need. The buffet breakfast in the morning was out of this world. The roof top pool was lovely too, not the biggest pool in the world but what do you expect when you are in the middle of one of the busiest cities in the world.
Traveling from the hotel is fine as it has a shuttle bus that goes to various destinations daily. Also taxis are very easy to use and very cheap (just make sure you tell him an exact place to bring you otherwise he may bring you somewhere dodgy where he is getting commission). I never personally experienced anything like that over there so was very happy. I would also recommend researching the Skytrain as it is very cheap and very easy to use and will get you around most places you want to go (also the air conditioning is great).
We then flew down to Phuket to stay in the Merlin Beach Hotel.
WOW what a nice hotel unbelievable, we were greeted with cold towels and a cocktail drink. The reception was huge and absolutely gorgeous. The breakfast in the morning was also gorgeous. The rooms are lovely with everything you would need and very spacious.
But the best thing about this hotel has to be the swimming pools wow unbelievable. There are three huge pools with two connecting by swimming under the actual hotel. The other pool is for those with pool access rooms. The pools have a swim up bar, a waterslide, fountain, bubbles so much to choose from.
The restaurants were also very nice too providing a variety of food at reasonable prices. There are three restaurants and then the coffee shop which provided a different buffet every night.
Patong is about a 10minute "tuk tuk taxi" away and is very commercialised.
At first it is very overwhelming when you see all the huge neon signs and street vendors but you get use to it. A pub I would highly recommend is Scruffy Murphys on Bangla road, the band playing there are amazing. The discos are ok to go to too we went to the Tiger and Dragon and had good nights dancing away. If you are single men traveling beware of the ladies - they are everywhere and just dying to get to your wallet.
We went on two trips one was to Fantasea which is worth a trip the buffet dinner was amazing and the show itself is very entertaining. We also went cave canoeing which was a great way to see all the islands.
All in all I had a great time in Thailand and got to experience some real culture. I would definitely go back but maybe somewhere different like Koh Sumi so as to see something different.

We booked this hotel as part of a package before moving onto Cha-am and stayed here for three nights.
The rooms are excellent and spacious, with the most enormous bed we've ever had in a hotel room!
From start to finish the staff were outstanding, really brilliant. Not a dull face, efficient and helpful and with a smile with every service, truly wonderful.
The main restaurant has a great choice at every meal (particularly at breakfast) and the lobby bar is good.
The views from the rooms are good, the higher the better. The pool area is nice too.
The main drawback of this hotel is its distance from the city centre and downtown areas, which means taking a taxi every time you want to go anywhere (the traffic is really bad, so it can take a long time to get anywhere).
The area where the hotel is located is pretty grotty. The hotel does operate a shuttle bus, bit it was a bit hit and miss.
Overall, we found the hotel to be good value for money, and very comfortable, but would rather have stayed somewhere closer to the city centre.
