I've just come back from the Blue Fish hotel in Alanya.
At first i was not looking forward to it after all these reviews saying death trap.
How pathetic it was the best holiday ever.
We got there at 6 in the morning and we went straight to the reception and they sent us to our rooms with no arguments. There was 4 of us in a family and we had to have 2 different rooms. Both nice rooms but a bit annoying when getting unpacked but the next day we got a bigger better room which held up to 6 people. The food was just amazing a bit repetetive but different sauces and dishes never a problem with the food or drink. Very gorgeous food. Cooked perfect. The Hotel staff were lovley all so nice and always there to help always smiling. Cleanliness was outstanding they clean your room everyday. Very clean. The Entertainment at night was a bit poor but EXCELLENT for children including the mini disco which is VERY repetetive im english and i have learnt all the russian songs off by heart. Not many English families. But we got along with about 4 families. Mostly Russian. The Outisde pool is amazing its so warm but is quite deep even at shallow end but they do have a paddaling pool bit. The bar is also very nice and serve cold drinks and the bar staff are very nice and sweet. You have your own beach with its own bar the beach is very shingley and not much sand but PERFECT for sunbathing you lie on the rocks whilst the water goes up your feet but it is very slippy. The beach bar is also very nice but the one man who worked there is not very good he kept winking at me and putting kissing faces which did not make me want to go there. But no harm done but if you have teenage girls around the ages of 14-16 keep them away from the beach bar men all of the others are fine.
i Loved it so much and i would really love to go back. I Was upset one day due to something happening in my family and one of the bar staff saw me crying and he came over to me with a load of tissues and gave me a hug and was saying don't cry your so much prettier not crying also when i went to the toilet to get a tissue to wipe my eyes the photographer was giving me loads of hugs and told me to sit with him and tell him whats wrong and he made me feel so much better. All Lovley.
I Would definatley Reccomend.
And Im definatley coming back maybe for a bit longer.
But when you get to the airport in Antayla i suggest you use a private minibus or taxi because the coach can be up to 6 hours long we went in a minibus for just 4 people and it was so comfy and they turned the lights off so we could all rest and airconditioned.
Please go to the Blue Fish i loved it. I Dont no why its a 3 star i think it should be more of a 4 maybe even strectching to a 5.

you will read the other reviews. and think mabe not.im just back from the blue fish its clean you wont go hungry could do with better choices.it is aimed at the russians but they have been going there forever.if you want 4 or 5 star then go pay for it.this hotel was real value for money i had a fantastic time meet loads of new friends.would i go back? in a minute. beach close always got a sun bed.sun was scorching so you need the all inclusive drinks be it coke or beer.you tip the staff a little and it goes a long way Dont book excursians with the hotel rep for hotels4u they are usless.go to back of hotel and thers a turk called tom from burges travel who does the same trips cheaper and hes reliable not like hotels4u twice i was let down and left hanging around.so if you want sun clean hotel but dont expect everyone to be running around after you this is the place the pool is big by turk standards and kept clean
bus rides into town you can get a lovely meal in alanya at a descent price nice little change from hotel.and you can pick up a english breakfast if you like there.its a little out of the road but i didnt feel i had to go out anyway good for lazying around. hope this clears things up enjoy

We booked our holiday with teletext holidays and got a really good deal on an all inclusive package at the blue fish hotel for 2 weeks. We arrived in Antalya and had pre-booked a shuttle bus service to the hotel, the company was called A2B; they were not great! - But not disasterous either, the trip is about 90mins long with a stop at a cafe for 20mins, however, the cafe rips you off on your way there... on the way back they seem to have different prices!
When we arrived at the blue fish hotel, the reception staff were very friendly, spoke reasonable english and made us very welcome.
The food is nice, however very repetative over a long holiday. There is a good selection of salad and then a hot meal (usually chicken or fish in sauce) with potatoes, rice or spaghetti and a vegetable usually with melted cheese. We were treated to a kebab once a week!
Pool and bar area are very nice, with friendly staff around... The entertainment programme lacked at times, but they were all very nice and funny and surprised us some nights with some crazy fire-breathing acts and break-dancing!
The only down-fall of the holiday is that it was'nt close to a city centre, however, a 10 minute bus ride costing £2.50 return was available outside the hotel and busses came every 5 minutes!
Alanya city centre itself is very nice, although you do get hassled so much to go in to shops and look/buy things, after a day of being polite and going in to a shop or two, you realise you just have to tell them where to go!
Blue fish hotel offers a service to take you to the night clubs in Alanya. Night clubs in Alanya are good, and busy... but costs alot for imported drinks; Beer and a Malibu & Coke was £15... However we can recomend the kebab shop outside of Janus Bar night club!
Drinks that are included in the all inclusive are; beer, red wine, white wine, gin, vodka, raki (sambuca-ish), coke, lemonade, fanta, schwepps lime, and fruit juices.
Bar snacks that are also included are cheese toasties, chips and omlette (which is a sunny-side up egg!) ...and salad!
There also a photography scheme at the hotel, they take amazing pictures and print them for $4 a photo.
Beach is nice, lots of sunbeds and private beach bar. Also lots of activities like jet-skiing and parasailing, bananana boats etc!
The rooms are very clean, fresh towels every day and completely insect-free. However! Dont leave any money or loose change anywhere visible on the counters as we found that our maid stole our change!
Overall, as a young couple we had a fantastic time! The staff and entertainment team were awesome and really fun, however the place did lack other english couples!

My friend and i arrived early hours of a morning and was offered a sandwich which was really nice when we got to our rooms it was a double bed which they gladly changed the next morning to a twin room.Rooms are basic but very clean air con worked which we were grateful for, maids changed towels and bedding every day.Staff very friendly food not too bad plenty to eat but not a lot of choice we didn`t go hungry.Pool excellent always a sun bed.To go into Alanya takes about 10 mins on a bus which you catch the beach side of road and get off at the last stop which there you will find shops bars restarants, it cost 1.50 euro we went on 2 trips to see the dolphins and a trip down a river on a boat where you have lunch at the sea its beautiful and then on to waterfalls i suggest you try them well worth the money about £24 a trip.Right the only downside about this holiday was the entertainment they tried but not good and at 10.30 you are only allowed 1 drink at a time bar closes at 11 for the money i would recommend this hotel we had great fun and would go back again i hope this will be helpful to you all

We have just returned from a great holiday to this hotel. We being 4 girls who thourghly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The transfer is rather long about 2 hours in all but that included a stop for the driver and him not knowing where the hotel actually was!!! when we arrived at 5am we were given sandwiches to eat by reception and taken straight to our rooms which were very nice. This was my 3rd trip to Turkey and this hotel was by far the best out of the 3. The rooms had a fridge and a tv which was not expected and also aircon was free which i have had to pay for in the past, also the bathroom was fine with soap and shampoo and a hairdryer. The food was fine every day loads of salad and fruit and at least 2 mains to choose from rice potatoes and pasta. I am a fussy person about food but i never went hungry. drinks were free but only local drinks but that was still fine. The staff were very friendly especially the waiters and the animation staff.we went to the beach which is reached by an underground tunnel but only to look as we prefered the pool everyday. It was very rocky but if you went up the beach a bit it was fine. There were plenty of sunbeds for everyone and we didnt have to put towels on until brekfast time.
I would like to find a bad point about this hotel but there arnt any except the pool doesnt have a shallow end which is not so good and the hotel doesnt serve fresh juice for brekfast. Thats all i would change !!! I really would recommend this hotel to anyone the best 3 star for £300 all inc

I was in this hotel in September 2009. For the price I paid and for a 3 star hotel it was ok, but still loads of things me and my partner did not liked. The hotel and rooms are basic. Our room was always tidy, they changed towels, bed sheets etc almost every day but we left tips regularly. Staff are friendly except barman, very rude and we always had problems with him. Very helpful and friendly reception staff. Animation - poor, but I think it depends on the time of the year there were not too many guest that time. Beach is horrible, only huge sharp stones. But if you would go a bit on the left side it is better there. From food you could get loads of salads, but honestly I could not eat anything there. But for other people it was not so bad, so I think it just depends on your taste. Most of the guest were russian, some german and there were only few couples from uk. It was my first time in Turkey and I think it is gonna be the last as well or may be only in 5 star hotel. But I would not save any more on my holidays...better pay more and enjoy myself.

Me and My partner went on holiday to the blue fish hotel in June 2009. We needed a holiday to get away from the rat race, i booked it with 2 weeks to go before the flying out date just thinking that I didn't care where we went as long as we got a break. I read reviews on this hotel before I went and wasn't expecting it to be that good, so when we arrived I was absolutely amazed. We arrived at around 5.30am after travelling all night, our transfer took 90 minutes and the first stop was the hotel next door, we were next and the only two that got off the bus at our hotel.
The hotel was so clean, we were greeted with a smile from the lady behind the desk at the hotel and she booked us in, she told us which room number we were and the bell boy took both our luggage and showed us to our room, he showed us how to use the key to work the lights which helped tremendously, although it was broken within 15 minutes someone was up at the room to fix it.
The hotel room was very basic, designed for use of sleeping at night and showering after a long day out in the heat, absolutely ideal for the type of holiday the hotel offered. We booked through Sunmaster and the information they supplied matched the hotel exactly, child friendly, buffet food, free drinks till 11pm.
The staff at the hotel could mostly speak english and most of them wanted to learn how to, a few of them taught us some turkish phrases and we reciprocated with english ones to help them. We met some amazing people out there, there were quite a few English there when we arrived but slowly over the week they left, we met some friends for life out there, the hotel was slightly overrun with Russian people, including women of all ages wearing thong bikini's which was at times testing but as a lot of the English women were bathing topless it was give and take so not to bad to live with. The food was at times not excellent but I always had something I could eat,the staff seemed shocked if you asked for more food but usually were ok about it unless there wasnt enough which only happened one night.
I would go back again to this hotel both me and my boyfriend want to go back again this year the animation team are fantastic and we have kept in touch with many of them. I would recommend anyone to go here but you do need to be open minded and not stuck to a description that your operator may give

Aug 09. Hotel located in hotel district(about 5 hotels with only 3 tourist shops) and is 1 1/2-2hours from airport( we also had 20 min stop to stretch legs at a cafe).quite a small hotel but everywhere clean. beach is literally through underpass(width of 6 lanes of traffic)-hotel has private area of beach but is very close to the watersport hire. water edge is 6+ metres of solid sand-looking rocks which are covered in slime (and have pits in)but if you make it to the sea it is apparently nice There is a wooden pier thing that alot of people jumped straight in sea from- looked fun for the more confident- Alanya beach itself is fine sand and shallow water so worth going there for sea activities.
Hotel is located in Konakli which is 10 minute bus ride(£1- 2.25 turkish lira) to centre of Alanya. You just stand at side of road(beach side) and one of the many shuttle(mini)buses will be along-we never waited more than 10 mins.By standing on hotel side of road you can catch bus to Konakli (7mins)centre(44p- 1 turkish lira)we spent 12 days poolside so travelled into town on night- £28 bus fare per person on 2 week holiday. For Alanya you stay on bus until the end as it finishes at bus station which is right by the start of the tourist shops. you pay as you leave the bus( once or twice some1 came round for money but not normally)bus prices are set.Alanya comes to life after dark and the place to be is down the front near boats where bars and shops are heaving.
Dont worry if you take turkish lira-we did and panicked a bit when everything is priced in euro. you just ask 'how much turkish lira'. take a converter(my paper print out from travel agent was well used). we actually got things cheaper by paying in TL.apart from hotel shop, you haggle everywhere and we were told take 2nd or 3rd price. example- bloke said 30 TL for t-shirt, I said 10. got it for 16TL . be prepared to walk away. they'll come after you with better price or you'll see same thing in next shop etc. make it a game !!
Hotel food is good.always cornflakes/toast/bagels/salads/melons for breakfast. main meats are always in a sauce and chips not very hot. TAKE T-BAGS for a proper cuppa as turkish tea takes some getting used to. took me a week to find english t bags in a supermarket. With hot weather appetite will probably be reduced and hotel food, although nice, is not out of this world. There are loads of food outlets in Alanya. For bigger restaurants walk down the main road in Alanya and for those who want something familiar- there is a Mac Donalds, Jimmy's(like KFC) and Burger King. We also saw a chinese restaurant there.
Hotel entertainment is ok.
darts, water polo, volleyball during day. at 9pm the kids have a sing along and dance then at 9.30 the general entertainment starts. mostly light hearted fun but a fire breathing night throw in here and 'miss blue fish' competition there.
your rep will offer you daytrips and we heard the one where you do the castle/caves/lunch on floating restaurant/shopping is best deal for about £30. I really regretted not going.
You get through loads of bottled water. Try and buy from supermarkets as much cheaper and you can store in fridge in your room
There are tip boxes in the hotel but nice to slip individuals 5 or 10 lira. once you have tipped one, word gets about and can be amusing when they all smile at you that bit more.We tipped in week 2 once we'd seen who seems to go that bit further.
This area seems quite new to British tourists and therefore we are very much the minority. A bit of a shock to find only 4 or 5 British families in whole hotel but lots of Russians/Polish/East European. We saw absolutely no trouble at hotel or in Alanya.
The Sun newspaper £2 in Alanya(need to trek round shops to find one)
We never found any cider(except some strange strawberry one)
Castle is a must see- 1TL(44p) from bus station in Alanya or a 5kl walk! costs 10TL(£4.40) to get in and is exceptionally hot up there-Take 1 litre water per person! The views are really spectacular.

just come back after 2 fabulous weeks in the blue fish hotel alanya, was scepitical due to last years reviews but!!!!!!!!!!! my god were they staying in the same place. the hotel is small and friendly with basic rooms, cleaned very well daily, the food was brilliant don't know about anyone else but i don't go on holiday to eat junk food(i don't at home) so the blue fish suit me fine, there was always plenty to choose from ,always delicious salads and tasty turkish cuisine. the staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help and the manager was brilliant, we had no problem with anyone, only later on in our secound week when some rather crude and noisy brits arrived, made me wish that i wasn't british at times , the other guests russians, germans etc had been very friendly and polite to us. overall had a fab time and would definately recommed this hotel to anyone we will definately be going back.we even took a ferry over to north cyprus for four days togo and visit relitives down in the southern side of cyprus, so easy to do only cost £60 each well worth the trip two holidays in one. the area of alanya is lovely and we went to the local market in konickli on a wednesday great for bargins, just hop on the bus outside the hotel and hey! presto you can go anywhere

we booked our holiday 2 weeks before we come andf paid just under 280 which for all inclusive it was a great price which we expected to be a basic all in deal, me and my mate booked in and had a great holiday, weather great, hotel nice, friendly staff and rooms clean and what i think is very good air con cam in the price, food and drink was good, again not 5 star but had differnt types and plenty of choices, the pool was very good and around the pool/bar area very clean and tidy.
the beach is just under the sub way and has its own bar on the beach which again is a good plus factor!
we had a great time and may even book it again for next year! the only down side is the transfer time of just over 2 hours :/ BUT THE PEAPLE WHO COMPLAIN ON HERE MUST EXPEXT 5 STAR FOR THE PRICE! ITS CLEAN, FRIENDLY STAFF AND PLENTY TO DO COUPLES OF 20-30YRS OLD WOULD LOVE IT AS WOULD YOUNG FAMILYS!
