The staff care remains superb, the Friday night meal was a gourmet's paradise which probably could not be found in a 5 star hotel. It was good to meet old friends who also return to the Bahia Blanca Rock on a regular basis. The daily rate for half board remains very competitive.

Our second visit to Lanzarote but first visit to Playa Blanca. What a lovely place and the beach is brilliant. The Bahia Blanca Rock is definately a family hotel. The animation team kept our 2 granddaughters aged 8 and 5 happy. Especially Antonio, who they both instantly... more

I visited this resort with my husband and 2 year old son and I think we all agreed that it was the best holiday we have ever had. The hotel was a little dated, but very clean and had everything you could ask for. It was within easy walking distance of a beautiful harbour... more

This was our second visit to Playa, but our first stay at the Bahia Blanca Rock. There were 4 of us - 2 couples. We found the hotel to be very clean and tidy - extremely well maintained and looked after. The staff were possibly the friendliest hotel staff I have ever... more

On our arrival we were given a room overlooking a busy road, so we asked for any available rooms overlooking the pools, this was no trouble for them to change. The rooms themselves are very basic and I have to say the bathroom and the bedrooms are tiny. The living area and... more

The resort was fantastic, great for kids. The kid’s entertainment team were the best I have ever seen, very dedicated, credit to them. The apartments were basic but comfortable and it was nice to get them cleaned on a daily basis. We were only 5 minutes away from the... more

This is the ideal place to go with children (0-12 years). It has an informal atmosphere, where children are most welcome. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Couples on their own, of all ages, would probably prefer a more adult environment. Whilst the hotel is a bit... more

Appalled at how many bad reports I have read a bout Bahia Blanca Rock, we have stayed in the hotel for the past 4 years in a row and each year we have enjoyed it just as much, if not more. The accommodation is very basic and could perhaps do with been refurbished. It has... more

We stayed at the Bahia Blanca Rock in Feb 2005 for just 2 nights, the rooms were dirty, falling apart and could not hope to be described as 3 keys. Our room got flooded by the rain on the second night! We had to pay extra to go to another hotel as were misled by all the... more

After checking out both Alpha Beds website and H10’s site we had expected to find a reasonable standard of accommodation and service. We booked for 10 nights 9-19th September but left the Bahia on the 12th and paid an extra £365 for a different apartment. I can really... more

Great for families and kids......
Traveled with two children, one 6 and the other 2. Rooms are adequate with usual mod cons fridge\microwave\cooker. Living space and sleeping quarters are just about right but any more than 4 people would be tight. Daily maid service was excellent. Complex itself is excellent for kids with daily club and nightly entertainment to suit all - Mums and Dads encouraged to join in all the time. Swimming pool is excellent for the kids and supervised by lifeguard. Plenty of sun loungers throughout the day, however this could be due to the fact we visited early on in the season. Only ate breakfast in complex once and was nothing to write home about. Restaurants nearby are plentiful, tasty and very reasonably priced. Not a complex for party animals but very much a complex for families.
Excellent All Round; Great Value for Money
Playa Blanca is a classy laid back smaller resort suitable for families - not a place to come for partying all night! Resort is 45 minutes to 1 hour from the main attractions on the island; a bit of a hassle if you have kids who get sick on buses. We had 2 x 1 Bed Apartments; 3 Adults and 2 Kids (6 and 3) and an Infant. Location is Excellent; 5 minutes walk from the beach and the promenade with the shops / restaurants. Supermarket just across the road. Apartment rooms were clean and we had a daily maid service. Staff were very friendly. Kids Club and Kiddie friendly Mini-Disco and Entertainment at night. 2 kiddie pools and 2 adult pools; all small. The kiddue pools have steps rather than a shallow ramp into the water; a little bit difficult for our 20 month old. Didn't eat much in the restaurant in the hotel; other restaurants were very close.
Better than Expected
We have just returned from a week at the Bahia Blanca Rock. On arrival the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We were given room 285 which to be honest is not good. It was dark and smelt of chip fat. We asked to move and the staff couldn't do enough for us. We were given a pool view room the following day which was far better. The rooms are dated, but they are clean and adequate for a weeks holiday. The pool area is fine. It was never over crowded and we had no problems with sun beds. It is about a 10 minute walk to Playa Blanca and about 15 minutes in the opposite direction to the new marina. Playa Blanca is lovely. If you want a nice meal Romatica is supurb and also Tipico Canarian on the front (next to the chinese) was very good. Lani's snack bar in the marina was very good for pizza etc. The Bahia Blanca Rock is definately family orientated and as as far as we could see all entertainment was aimed at young children and families. If you want a cheap week in the sun, with clean comfortable rooms then the Bahia Blanca Rock is worth a visit.
Our favourite Place
My family have stayed in these little apartments for the past 3 years running. Fantastic for small children and is very safe. Not the poshest place in the resort, but very relaxed. The Staff are very friendly and we are looking froward to returning again in 2006.
Great for Kids!!
Just returned from 2 week holiday at this accommodation. First impressions of the room were a little disappointing, but once I'd unpacked and settled it seemed to improve! Room fittings are not the brightest. Kitchen is well equipped; new microwaves and kettles added during our stay (Apr 06). The animation team are excellent...the highlight of the holiday really! esp. for children with their club in close proximity of pools and very flexible. Lots of activities for adults too...if you are energetic. Never a dull moment. Dining room can be quite busy at times, but friendly, attentive staff and plenty of choice for breakfast and dinner, all well presented. From reading some of the previous reports here, things must have improved considerably. Overall from reception to maintenence very helpful ...but be careful of maitre d' who seems to panic at the sight of a full dining room! ;)
Love the place
We've stayed for the last two years at Bahia Blanca Rock both times the first week in October. We've found the staff very helpful and friendly, food great, room are spacious maybe a little dated but clean, maid service is excellent 6 days a week. More than likely we'll be going back again this Otober. Playa Blanca its self is fantastic quiet, and where the hotel is situated is brilliant.
Fantastic
Fantastic! What more can I say, everything was first class from the service to the surroundings. Maybe the rooms are looking slightly used, but not too bad. The maid service was every day and of a very high standard and all staff were very pleasant and helpful. We did have a self catering holiday and only sampled the food at the poolside bar, but that was of good quality and excellent value. The position of the complex is also great 2 minutes walk from the beach, 5 minutes walk from most of the restaurants (highly recommend Jumbo Chinese and Tipico Canario).
Excellent hotel. We will return.
We stayed at the Bahia Blanca Rock for 3 weeks in November, 2005. It is in a fairly quiet location, about 10 minutes walk from the beach. I am a very light sleeper and I wasn't disturbed by any traffic noise. The breakfast and evening meals were self service hot and cold buffet with an excellent choice every day. Maid service was 6 days a week and the place was spotless. The pools were cleaned every morning and there were plenty of sun loungers to lie on. Overall I would say it's an excellent hotel in a good location. We would certainly stay there again.
Brill place
Just back from 2 weeks at Bahia Blanca Rock. THoroughly enjoyed our time there and hoping to return next year. Meals were buffet style so you could make your own choices. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was great as we were half board and still had an apartment. We have stayed in 3* and 4* H10 hotels and the 3 key Bahia Blanca was very close to their standards.
Fantastic value for money
I spent 10 nights at the Blanca Rock and was very satisfied. The food was excellent and well balanced with a good variety each night. The service at all times was spot on and every request was attended to. The service at evening meal was like lightning. The rooms were basic but clean and tidy. I was not looking for something grand as other reviewers but a "base" from which to change/sleep and chill out. The animacion team were keeping the kids entertained at all times. The pool, yes it was cool, sometimes cold but thats just how I like it. My kids did not complain either. The facilities were excellent, internet, phones, toilets, play area's etc. The resort itself is outstanding and in my opinion the best on the island. The Playa Blanca beach is small and quite close to the original harbour, whereas the man made Playa Dorada beach was stunning. The new harbour was magnificent, and the shopping complex will look stunning when complete. Meals out in various restaurants were of a high standard. Negative points-resort-If you are an old misery who complains at everything, then don't go! But if you want your kids in a safe environment then go! Negative points-hotel-chairs at meal ties where at a premium, and sometimes a wait was involved, but otherwise excellent. If you are an old misery who complains at everything, then don't go! If you want a value holiday, at a descent Hotel, at a beautiful resort then Playa Blanca it is, but if you want the dream Hotel go to the Princess Yaiza and pay a lot more!
