Submitted By: SealionsEvening entertainment was generally good and the kids club and mini disco was enjoyed by our 4 year old son. The only things I would say could have been better was to have been a little more choice in the way of baby food and we also found the hotel bar very expensive with beer at around e3.50 - Compare this with all the other bars and restaraunts on the island that charge just 1 = 1.50 per pint as it is a tax free island!
Overall very good, would recommend
Locally plenty to do just the usual annoyance of the people trying to braid your hair or sell you sunglasses!!!
Advice: Nice area with a good beach
Activities: Recommend a trip to Siam Park (water park) Fantastic fun for all ages
Good for: Beach

food ok but nothing spectacular
we had great room about 20 metres from the pool which was great as we never heard any loud music coming from concert room but i know that lots of other guests did,
drinks were a bit expensive plus the euro and £ were on even keel
3.50 e for a pint of lager but if you took the lift to the ground floor and went to the beach bars many were seving a pint for 1 euro,
the lift down to the seafront was quite handy but closed at 8 o clock so a long walk round thereafter,
biggest dissapointment was that was told when we got there that xmas day lunch was only for guests who wore a shirt tie and dinner jacket,a letter before we left home would have been handy as we would have packed a one,and no exceptions by the way as we tried to persuade the rep to fight for us,we had to opt for chinese 3 course meal..
we came back from xmas lunch(chuinese restraunt) to find our room had been flooded out,so our xmas day consisted of no gala lunch plus packing suitcases to change rooms and not a sorry or complementary drink...nothing,
Advice: take plenty of money with you
Activities: pubs on the sea front
Good for: Beach
" A week in Guayarmina "
Submitted By: Mark CarterThe room we had (328) was on the left side of the hotel and had a partial sea view form the balcony. It was slightly bigger than other hotel rooms we have stayed in and apart from some dodgy electrics was perfectly adequate with English television channels and twin beds. The corridors were partially open air and air conditioning was included, but not a fridge or safe deposit box
The pools are on a terrace are from where you can watch out accross the bay. There was no problem getting sun beds when we were there
The restaurant served a buffet breakfast and evening meal of wide choice and fairly good standard but always following a standard format. The daily roast was excellent. The bar tarrif did require a second mortgage especially for soft drinks, they work out at 15 times dearer than the Netto supermarket!!. In contrast the soft scoop ice cream is as cheap as the beach shops. We did not sample the entertainment but it looked to be reasonable and fairly varied in the evening and lame during the day
I would say Lore parc is a must and if you are going to a water park go to Siam Park on a double ticket with Lore parc. Thomson push you towards Aqualand ( i think they have an arrangement with them) but from the outside Aqualand looks a dump compared to Siam, think about comparing a brand new Tesco store to an ageing Spar shop!
Overall excellent apart from stupidly dear soft drinks, poor room maintenance and a non appearing fridge. The location more than makes up for that and we will go back again
Advice: Nice tidy family resort with plenty of shops and bars
Activities: Siam Park is a must
Good for: Beach

Submitted By: Mrs F PatersonWe were shocked to find out the price of the safe and fridge, which was over 100 euros for both (you get 5euros which is disgraceful!)
We payed extra for a room with a sea view as we were told the suites which we originally wanted overlooked the front entrance and had no extras which is silly at over £300 a week extra. When we arrived at our room 309 (which is a long walk from reception) we were dissapointed the room was nothing special which we though would be at the price we payed. We had two single bed (we were on honeymoon!) so my husband went to reception and was told there was no double beds?! We were told when we booked that we would have a double bed. There was a sofa bed which was so uncomfortable that we didnt stay on it.
The bath was terrible, i had to get in the bath to put the plug in and the room was very dark. The rooms had obviously not been decorated recently.
The food was very basic and repetative and we soon got sick of having pasta and chips. We often didnt go down to breakfast as it was quite basic and not that tasty!
I wouldnt recommend this hotel to young people and definetly not for honeymooners, we didnt even get any perks as ive seen in many other hotels.

Submitted By: Mr J IrelandThe pools are relatively small and poolside is treacherous. At peak times, a sun bed by the pool will require an early morning start but there are just enough. You may find there some unusual pool rules but these are only intermittently enforced. The "life guard" was a gesture, pleasant but totally ineffective.
Drinks, especially water & soft drinks, ice cream etc aren't cheap and the costs will add up, I you want a 2 min walk to the local Netto will save you a lot of money.
The food was of good quality there was plenty of choice both at breakfast and dinner but it could have been warmer. My gripes; drinks in the evening are extra and start at E2.20 for 500ml of water; juice at breakfast tasted of additives; some kids & adults haven't grasped the finer points of self service hygiene but that’s not the hotels fault. Note the gents must wear trousers for dinner but the women can get away with murder.
I found the staff to be mostly friendly & efficient but as there was the odd one who could benefit from a lesson in courtesy however this was also true for the guests. As in most hotels a lot of the staff are actually immigrants. A bit of Spanglish, a chat or smile always helps and leaving a Euro for your cleaner works wonders.
Entertainment is a mixed bag and we all have differing tastes, bingo, parrot or snake shows aren’t mine but the odd tribute band was ok and the acrobats, comedy & magic acts particularly good. Beware of the invitation to have your child’s photo taken after a show as the costs are exorbitant and to try and take your own would seriously offend. With two "shows" a night there should be something that you will find entertaining but better to find your own amusement in Costa Adeje within a few minutes walk or perhaps a 10 Euro taxi to Playa De Las Americas / Los Christianos.
Walking along the sea front at least there are no time share salesmen but the café touts & hair braiders are just as annoying be prepared to be accosted every 10 metres.
The beach entrance closes 9ish. It made me smile to be told by “security” that I have to walk to the front. It’s uphill & not far, but why he let you in escapes me.
Daytime entertainment is weak and limited to a few pool / poolside games plus booles, archery & “shooting” for the adults. The kids club couldn’t tempt my 8 year old who thought it childish and didn’t appear to be over popular. There seems precious little for the 8 to 14 year olds. A tennis court is available.
Thomson trips are always pricey, despite this we did enjoy the Submarine Safari and the spectacular scenery of & around Mount Teide is very worthwhile but please be aware that the rep may not tell you that it is not suitable for those with asthma, blood pressure or heart conditions. Our 8 year old daughter blacked out in the cable car causing everyone considerable distress, and no refund offered. Note the hotel offers alternative and cheaper trips.
Shopping tips; don’t show an interest in anything you don’t want to buy not buying offends; shop around as prices vary greatly; don’t be tempted to buy a camera or camcorder as the final cost will be higher; refunds or exchanges aren’t the Spanish way. The airport isn’t cheap and there isn’t the same choice as in the resort.
If needed, your young Thomson reps will try their best but they have their limitations.
Thomson boast this as a Platinum Hotel therefore it is natural for you to have very high expectations, nowhere is perfect so read the reviews and decide what your priorities are. Luxurious it isn’t but it certainly isn’t bad a 7.5/10 for us and 9/10 from the kids

Submitted By: Miss H RouhaniIt was one of the most amazing holidays I've been on and it probably coulnd't be as amazing if it wasn't for this fantastic Hotel.
The location was just perfect, close to the beach, the shops, within walking distance to some of poshest places in that area.
The pool is one of the most beatiful features of the Hotel and adds a great charcter to it. When I close my eyes now I can see my self laying under the sun on one of the sun beds by the pool enjoying everything around me.
The food was really good, although I think the dessert table could be more varied.
Thank you to all the hard working staff and thanks to TENERIFE for being such a beautiful place.
I'll be back

Submitted By: Mr S ThomasDrinks expensive in hotel as expected but very cheap in some bars a "pint" of beer could be found @ 1 Euro upwards but around 1.5 euros in most. Food good value too.The hotel lifts "when working" can be confusing due to the strange shape of the hotel with +ve and -ve floors. Trips are expensive as useual with the medieval night as good as any night out all of us enjoyed. There was some reps at the hotel I believe if you needed them. Generally an excellent holiday and wolud quiet easily go back.

Submitted By: Mrs S PettyOn reading some of these reviews prior to our trip we were slightly concerned and contacted Thomson. Thomson assured us that this was a top standard hotel and part of their premiere collection. They informed us that other holiday companies often wrote bad reviews on these sites and we reasoned that some of the bad reviews were old so left gatwick in high spirits looking forward to some nice relaxing and sun- we really wish we had stayed at home now!
We arrived at the hotel to be told we had to wait as only one of the three rooms were ready, we asked why we could not have the key to one room so we could leave our bags in that room until the others were ready and enjoy our holiday, we were told this was not possible and waited over two hours at reception after an early morning flight. not the best start to a holiday!
To be honest it went down hill from here- the staff were rude and unhelpful and the Thomson reps were absolutely useless. The food was bland and unvaried, often cold, we chose to start eating out as the thought of eating in the restaurant turned our stomach!
The rooms were not clean, the maids simply made the bed, the bathroom was not cleaned once in the whole week! we were disgraced.
Upon complaining to the hotel and Thomson reps very little was done. Simply an apology and even that was a struggle. On the last day the lead rep did go through some issues with us but on reflection i do feel this was too little too late.
I strongly reccommend that you book your trips outside the hotel and not with Thomson- they are overpriced and not worth the money. The Reps are willing to take the money from your hand without any problem at all but not prepared to help you in any way possible. for example we were unfortunate enough to loose a camera while on holiday and the reps were not interested in helping- not what we consider a good rep!
DO NOT VISIT THIS HOTEL IS ALL I CAN SAY. It is dirty, the staff are rude, the reps unhelpful, the food awful and no way near a 4 star premier hotel like advertised and i am not another company just an angry mother and wife who wanted a nice holiday with her family!!

Submitted By: Mrs A SummerbellOn a positive note the food was fantastic and the waiters were friendly. The pool was never too busy and we always managed to get a sunbed. The entertainment was good from what we saw and there were other bars in the hotel to choose from if you didn't want to watch it. The hotel has a good location, 5 mins from the the beach.
Overall we had a great time, it really does depend on what type of room you get from the start. Don't be tempted to book any days out with Thomson, we booked them alot cheaper from a shop just outside the hotel. Try and get a room on a high floor they are not as dark and gloomy and have less chance of cockroaches. Good luck if you go to this hotel, it really is pot luck whether you have a good/bad holiday.

Our hotel room seemed very sound proof and we didnt know we had anyone in the adjoining rooms until we saw them
The Hotel is extremly clean, well thought out.
They provide hairdryers and towels. As well as soap shampoo etc.
The pool area was wonderful overlooking the beach with a lift down onto the pavement that adjoins the beach.
The restaurant was as described and there is choice for almost any dietry need, and we were advised that you can talk to the head chef should you have aditional issues with diet.
We stayed there late september early october 2009 and the weather was 28 degrees almost everyday.
The only drawback we can see was that there is not a kettle in your room and the activities were not very apparant to us though in truth we werent interested in participating in them anyhow . But I did think that its not a hotel I would take children too. For us that thought was a bonus as that is exactly what we were looking for.
Advice: Quiet beautiful area with plenty to do

Good for: Beach
