A Decent Hotel
from Jenny1812
The hotel was fine. Was nothing spectacular but was a nice stay. The hotel staff was very helpful and the room was clean. The pool are was nice and there's a pool bar for drinks, snacks, etc. My biggest complaint was that it felt like all the sheets and towels were incredibly stiff or scratchy. Perhaps an overload of starch? If renting a car in Santorini, good luck on trying to find a parking spot near the hotel -- it's a free-for-all. And trying to drive up the hill to the hotel was an experience in itself -- my knuckles have never...

Nice
from CMcKAncaster_Canada
Nothing GREAT, nothing TERRIBLE. Just a good stay at a decent hotel. Breakfast is very good!! Rooms are always clean... bathrobes and slippers were a nice touch. Great location if you want to be in Fira. Staff at the desk are very helpful. Didn't use the pool, but it looked decent. You aren't on the beach here. Rooms and bathrooms are somewhat small. Overall, I would definately stay again.
Would Stay Again
from A TripAdvisor Member
Great location...caldera just steps from the front door, and center of town and bus depot just a block or so away. Room was a fair size for the price (106 euros)...cute balcony. Nice that breakfast was included. Friendly staff at check-in. Only stayed for one night, but couldn't have asked for more.
Great Honeymoon !
from A TripAdvisor Member
We had the first week of our honeymoon here and could not find any fault with the hotel, staff or rooms. The location was excellent for exploring Thira and the fact that you are not hovering on the edge of the Caldera meant that it was far more peacefull and relaxing away from the millions of day trippers from the Cruise Ships. Our room was lovely, spotlessly clean every day with designer bedding and we could not fault it. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with different greek delicacies appearing every day - you could have...

Disappointing
from A TripAdvisor Member
My wife and I stayed at the Aressana in September based on past reviews from TripAdvisor members. Overall, we were very disappointed. The service was reasonable, but not consistent (with one or two staff not very helpful). However, the biggest letdown was on the rooms. The room (for almost 200 Euros per night) was very basic and there were a lot of sewage smells in the bathroom. We complained about the sewage smell, but the primary solution was to cover the drainage area with a mat. It did not fully resolve the problem, so we...

It's a great hotel!
from A TripAdvisor Member
I am a travel agent so I definately did my research on hotels in the area. The hotel is not like a typical large scale chain hotel found in America (so don't expect the Marriott or Sheraton) but I thought all things considered, it was lovely. Our room was nice, clean, average size but it had a great little balcony with a table and chairs. It looked to me like all the rooms had some sort of outdoor sitting area. There was a complimentary small bottle of local wine and jar of figs. There were bathrobes, slippers and toiletries too. The...

Hated the Aressana 'Hotel'
from A TripAdvisor Member
We were very disappointed at this hotel. It wasn't cheap but the rooms were dreadfully small, smelly and the toilet didn't work in our first room. In our second room the air conditioning was so noisy we couldn't have it working. The beds were really uncomfortable. I found the staff quite rude when we complained. The location of the hotel is good but that is really the only good thing about the place. Very basic but expensive.
A pension disguised as a hotel
from A TripAdvisor Member
This is a pension disguised as a hotel. It has nonexistent common courtesy services, like helping with the luggage, it is on the back side of the view that is Santorini's unique offering, and technologically inept staff as far as Internet bookings are concerned. We had a room booked over the Internet and they managed to loose the reservation. When we arrived, and we had taken the extra precaution of phoning a week ahead to make sure that they had received the Internet reservation, after all Greece is not quite Europe yet, they said that...

This hotel was "just" OK
from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and I stayed at the Aressana for three nights at the end of a ten day Greece vacation. It was difficult coming to this hotel after leaving the amazing Myconian Ambassador on the island of Mykonos (see my review). The hotel was not great right from the start. We were dropped off down the block from the hotel. The bellman came down to get our bags, but we had to walk up a large hill with our carry on luggage. There was only one person at the desk checking people in and we had to wait for her to check in another group that arrived...

Attention to detail makes the Aressana unforgettable
from lscsdavis
Conveniently located next to the big church in Fira, the Hotel Aressana more than makes up for its lack of caldera view with attention to fine details. There are charming arrangements of flowers and red and black lava rocks spread throughout the cycladic style building. Each room has a sampler of ouzo and a jarred fruit, along with fresh flowers. Ours had a small patio on a pathway that led to the pool. The breakfast is beautifully arranged and includes many choices not seen in other Greek hotels. The staff is very helpful with...
