From the minute we arrived at the appartments we had nothing but great experiences. All the staff were very friendly, much as you would expect in Turkey, but with that little bit extra. The rooms were extremely clean and housekeeping was regular. Any problems we had were... more

Good place to stay!
We were there from 1st oct for a week and what a week to pick! We got there very late and the staff were very friendly but very rushed as you know what we are like (once we are off the plane at that time of night all we want is our bed)! when you get there they will ask you for a £20 deposit for the room (for breakages) that will be returned when you leave (as long as you dont smash the place up). Then we had someone help us up with our bags to our room (you do feel you should give them a tip but i never, its there job for god sake!) Ok the room we were in was basic but nice'ish we had a great view over the pool from one window then out the door over looking gumbet (see picks). So how far is gumbet town! its about a 5/7min walk from your room and trust me its better to be a little out as its a very big party town with pub/clubs everywhere! You can get most drinks but for the " non local drinks" will cost a little more say vodka and coke 8 lirea but for the boys, beer is cheep!!! i found one place they were selling a large beer (nr a pint) for 1 lirea about 60p but the beer at the apartments were 3.5L about £1.30 when we got there! Food at the apartments was good but why eat there every night? there are hundreds of restaurants (you could eat every meal out at a diffrent place every day) and most of them will give you a free bottel of wine and garlic bread with your meals (you dont get that at bosok) and is cheap most of the meals we had cost about 50L for 2 of us and thats about £20 inc of say one drink each! Gumbet is a fun and young place to go and yes you will get people trying to pull you into there pub/club or restaurants but take no noice of it, they have to do this as thats what they get paid to do! People in the bosok were friendly, maybe too friendly with the girls sometime! the manager can be a misreable git some times but all in all you will have a great time here! If there was one thing i could say that i really enjoyed was the scuba diving! if you have never done it then here your chance its great! and they are very professional (i booked with the thompson rep) and lunch is included! Also if you like me (like a joke or two) have a look at the name of the fridge when you get there!! lol see pick The only bad thing is we got there when it was ram-a-dam and they have the praying 5times a day (once at sunrise about 6.30am and yes you will get woken up and during the day and at sunset). Some people love the sound of this and dont get me wrong it's ok in the day but at sunrise?? i have just got to bed then!
Ek ... mek, Ek ... MEK, EKMEK
We arrived at the Blowzok in the middle of the frickin' night (as everyone does). The staff dealt with us pretty quickly, even the drunken disgrace who must have been 40+ but didn't want to give up her passport for the evening (you have to do this for registration purposes). The bar was still open. The pool was nice and quiet all the time. In its favour was that it is consistently deep from end to end meaning kids don't stay in - potentially urinating - for long. This is a real bonus if you want to do some proper swimming. If you have small kids, the pool is not suitable for them unless you don't like them much. The bar was generally open very late although we did get turfed out at 1am on the Wednesday. Beer is about £1.60 a pint - standard for Gumbet. The pool table is amongst the worst in Gumbet, and that is saying something. The 'full english' breakfast that is available everywhere was very poor value. The 'real pork sausage' was one cocktail sausage. Overall, the Bozok is a nice enough, friendly and good value place in a good enough location. I would warn against booking one of the apts for any more than two people as the 'sofa beds' in the lounge would be better described as narrow sofas (because that is what they are). There were 4 in our group but knowing it was a one bed apt we were getting, I booked a second apartment on the Thomson website. We got the Jasmin Beach for £1 a night. The apartment there was nicer, as well as actually having four proper beds in it, but it was smaller. The Jasmin complex itself is a lot bigger - hundreds of apts - so less friendly. Gumbet as a resort is ok so long as you don't mind hearing the same six (bad) songs on constant rotation at ridiculous volumes in every bar. You have to expect the touts appearing from every bar/restaurant/shop and as other people have said, yes, in general they are friendly with it. However, the best policy is to ignore them completely. It goes like this: "what is your name?", David Hasselhoff, "where you from?", England, "where you staying?", at the blowzok, "come in here", no, "why?", i don't want to, "look at the menu", no, "look at the menu", no ... It can take half an hour to walk a hundred metres if you are not careful. Walking with a purposeful pace and a vague look of menace on your face works wonders. The best meal we had was at the mexican, Amigos, which is a little more pricey than most but worth it. The best bar without a shadow of a doubt is the Outback bar. An Aussie bar with a good pool table, £1.60 beer and exclusively indie/rock music. The beach in Gumbet is about 3 metres wide, very gritty, and generally a bit rubbish. The day trip to Kos is well worth it but do not book it through the rep as you'll pay double what you'd pay elsewhere. You may as well book through the local businesses and hand the difference in cash to the rep as that is effectively what happens anyway.
very lucky to of been at this hotel
hotel staff friendly always had a smile or hello for you even after working a 16 hour day rooms are clean towels changed twice in the week we was there..but if you want a warm shower have one in the afternoon at 8am lol its cold...but helps to wake you up pool was great and areas around it were cleaned every day snacks and bar were ok cocktails were expensive(10 turkish ) but efes (lager) was only 3.5 we felt breakfast at the red dragon or windy bay better value for money...but handy to use if out for the day for pre excursion snack before the coach came its not untill you walk into gumbet and pass all the other hotels , you could of been unlucky to of stayed at... horrors from hell they looked like. this is a well run hotel clean with nice staff... would i return to gumbet ...no...but i wish i could pack away club bozok and use at every place i going to travel too now only too bad points the fish and birds in the bar are not cleaned out enough looks like 4 months since cage was cleaned and water in fish tank was dirty..and had to keep telling harry to give the birds water. which he did on the 3rd request some hours later ..as nothing was in their water hopper..so please if you stay here and care for animials please check thanks and one last point.....floors on your rooms are tiled so if people are above you...you hear every scrape of chair or foot step or in our case balls bounced ...thats not just a bozak fault many hotels in the med have it....just does get on your nerves
What a fantastic Holiday - Club Bozok Apartments
We booked our holiday at Club Bozok as a last minute deal, booking on the Thursday and travelling on the Sunday. Not always being sure of what to expect we were a little apprehensive but neednt have been - this place is fantastic. The transfer time from Bodrum airport is only about 40 minutes and over in a flash. On arrival at CB in the early hours the check in was a bit of a pain but there were plenty of willing helpers to help with your luggage and the bar was still open. The self-catering apartment was superb with a 'as new' smell in the cupboards and the appliances etc hardly used. The room was spotless, spacious and the view fantastic. Although we were directly over the poolside bar, with the windows closed you couldnt hear a thing and the aircon was so good the room was cool and airey. The food in the poolside bar was excellent value for money with both Turkish and English choices. The staff are second to none and cant do enough for you.Gumbet itself was great with everyone speaking English loads of entertainment and great eating places and not expensive either. I would recommend these apartments to anyone and cant wait to go back again. Dave and Kim, Worcestershire
greta place!!!
Myself and my two boys have just come back from here, we didnt expect much as i got our tickets through an auction site, but was really shocked when we got there, the place is lovely, and the staff and owner are great, need anyting and they get it. Apartment was lovely, couldnt say a bad word, will defo be going back soon. Only down side was the main pool was 6ft all the way, well worth going!!!!!
Club Bozok, a great place to stay!!
We have just returned after a 2 week stay at Club Bozok, Gumbet. On arrival at these appartments at 4 o'clock in the morning, we were storted out quickly and our luggage carried to our room. The room was very clean and spacious, we were on the top floor so had lovely views over Gumbet, the maids came in every day, the only downside to this was our sheets and towels were only changed 3 times during the whole of our stay. The pool is gorgeous and kept spotless, always plenty of sunbeds available. There was a wide range of food and drink available, and beer was only 3 lira and coke only 2 lira!! Theres a small shop next to the appartments, but this sold only the very basics. The staff at the bozok are very very nice and do there best to make your holiday great, nothing was to much trouble. Theres also a pooltable for 5 lira for an hour, and a ps2 for the kids. There are some tortoises and rabbits running around the complex and they didn't seem to mind the kids picking them up,my daughter thought this was great!! The staff at reception were most helpful and always spoke when you went out and returned. All in all i would recommend the bozok to any one,we had a lovely holiday and if we did return to Gumbet would definately go back there.
loved it so going back again
i stayed at this hotel in May 2005 and had a most enjoyable time, staff are so freindly. we met some friends from Newcastle who we still keep in touch with. the best bars are the Atlantis Bar, Jasmin Garden restaurant and cocos, which were only about ten minutes from the hotel. We went back to Club Bozok in Sept 2005 and have also booked for this May. two weeks to go! Weather is gogeous.
club bozok fab place to stay diane from newport s wales
we stayed at the club bozok in june last year , we are going back to the same hotel in june this year. it took me 7 years to persuade my husband to go to turkey, as i has a bad experience in bodrum with a hotel the 1st time i visited this didnt put me off because the people are so friendly. He loved it so much he wants to go back. The staff are so friendly at the bozok, they cannot do enough for you. We arrived at 4am in the morning, our room was very nice very clean. we went to the bar , our daughter wanted a kebab , the barman had just ordered one for himself, he gave it to her and said he would order another form him self, they do an excellent barbeque in the week and lots of entertainment also . no real need to go anywhere else. we did go out and about, but stayed at the hotel quite a few nights. the pool is very clean and reception area is lovely with sweeping stair case. the safes are located at reception you have one key and reception have the other . the safe cannot be opened with out both keys , i think this is a brilliant idea. We never had any problems what so ever. we cant wait to go back this year. we have made so many good friends. I,m sry to hear one person had a bad room becuase every one i spoke to at the hotel could praise it enough.awesome!!!!!!!
