San Valentine Hotel Reviews
" This holiday was really good! It was... "
Submitted By: Miss H WorsleyI went in August and made about 20 friends whilst I was there aged between 12-17. We had a really good time - the entertainers made it really great watch out for the head entertainer Gio!! And Sandra and Louis too -- they were great always getting you involved!!
It’s quite expensive but it’s a holiday!! Staff were friendly made friends with one of the receptionists Teresa she was such a laugh!!
Coming back next year!! Well persuading the parents!!
Love Hannah (you might remember me if you were there)
Also look out for Jimmy he goes every year!!
" THE HOTEL:
This hotel is... "
This hotel is beautiful and very clean, the receptionists and hotel staff/barmen/barmaids/cleaners are always ready to help if there is a problem, or they are needed.
The hotel is well designed i.e. where the pool/bar/restaurant/lounge /entertainment and reception area is, these areas are easy to get to and from.
SERVICES:
Although this hotel/apartments are up a great hill there is a private bus which is free of charge that travels up and down the hill (to and from son Bou where the beach/shops /bars/restaurants are) dropping off and picking up every 20-30 mins all day until 7:00pm . There is a shop/supermarket on the grounds .
ROOMS:
Cleaners come in to your rooms every day, the rooms are in good condition, and all the facilities are in good working order. The only down side is there is no fridge or kettle in the rooms which was needed at times - you have to keep going down to get drinks and bring them back to the room.
CLUBS:
They cater for all ages of children doing different activities all day in and out of the mini club (a big hut ) and sometimes do water sports ,and end with a mini disco at 8:30pm.
NIGHT TIME:
At night time they do the children’s mini disco to start off ,and then have an entertainment act from singers to acrobats. Then when the entertainments over there is background music until 12 midnight which is not late enough for people who want to stay up late and have a dance so there should be a disco after the entertainment until late0.
OVERALL:
Overall the stay at the hotel has been fantastic and I would recommend it to everybody, it has everything you want and need.
" Only go to this hotel if you are... "
Submitted By: Mrs C TilleyHad a nice week once we got used to the idea that the hotel is geared for families. Should have picked up the clues when booking, kids entertainment etc.
Hotel very nice, very clean, and well run, staff friendly. Surprised that there was no fridge in the room, very inconvenient. I also thought the air conditioning got turned down during the night, as it didn't feel cool enough.
Food very nice, lots of choice, though no chance of a nice quiet meal, dining room very noisy with babies and toddlers.
Drinks at the poolside bar are very expensive, a coke is served in a small glass (no bottles or cans) probably to keep costs down as a lot of people are all inclusive.
Also there is a no reserving sun loungers with a towel policy at the hotel, but a lot of people do it, out there at 7am placing towels on beds. By 11am you couldn't get two sunbeds together, all taken.
We actually found the adults only bar on our last evening, though there was a couple in there with a baby. Wish we had found it at the beginning would have been more peaceful.
Taxis are not easily come by on the island, doesn’t seem a lot of demand.
Would go back if I were taking my grandchildren, otherwise not.
" We stayed here in June 07 and was not... "
Submitted By: Mr M RodgersThe hotel and pool area is spotlessly clean and all the staff speak good English and are helpful.
Rooms are well maintained by the maids, with towels and bed linen changed daily.
The only slight gripe is that you have to pay for the use of the in room safe (15Euros for a week)
We went half board, and the food was excellent with a lot of variety, along with the food, unlimited free coffee, tea and fruit juice at breakfast time, and a lovely dinner selection in the evening.
All inclusive is only worth it if you plan to drink large quantities of Alcohol during your stay. If not then half board may well suit you better.
The hotel was full when we stayed, and the guests there seemed to consist of roughly 60% English with the rest made up of equal numbers of Spanish, Italian, and Germans. (For those of you who like to know the main user nationality of the hotel!)
The hotel is located high up in a hill but there's a free hotel shuttle bus that leaves the hotel every 1/2 hour to take you down to the beach/main centre area down below. It takes about 6/8mins to get there. The bus can get busy during the morning with people going to the beach.
Getting back you can also use the shuttle bus, although it stops going back up to the hotel at 7pm.
There's a little train called the 'Son Bou Express' that runs until about 10.30pm that costs 3Euros that stops outside the hotel, and you get a lovely view along the way!
The beach is long with gorgeous sand and crystal clear sea.
On the beach there are pairs of sunbeds laid out with a parasol, if you want to use these, the cost is 17 Euros for a day which is quite steep, but lot of people just lay on their towels on the sand.
We really enjoyed our time here and will probably return next summer.
If you want a relaxing beach break then this place is perfect.
" A great holiday, good food and... "
Submitted By: Mr A ReynoldsI would recommend this hotel and would definitely go back. Brilliant holiday. The temperature was excellent for the time of year about 25c but a bit breezy near the beach.
The hotel is about 1 mile inland but has free bus shuttles to and from the beach.
" The wife and I took 2 weeks out in... "
Submitted By: Mr Dj PattersonThe hotel was a joy to stay at food was excellent, plenty to do for the children, very safe and secure and the staff were only to helpful in any matter how ever small.
The pool areas were safe and the walk in pool was just right for the kids. Lager louts - not one in sight.
Hotel entertainment was fantastic with something different going on every night.
" Fantastic hotel in beautiful grounds.... "
Submitted By: Mrs S HoltomWe stayed in an apartment which was spacious and clean. The supermacado on site was handy for snacks and drinks, as was the poolside bar. Great hotel policy of 'no reserving sun beds' which was enforced each morning by the lifeguard. Restaurant food was good, but maybe more hot choices would be welcome if you were staying for two weeks. The evening entertainment wasn't very varied, with the majority being dancers.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone who likes a relaxing holiday in great surroundings. Don't forget to visit son Bou beach with its long stretch of sand and clear, blue sea.
" On arrival of this hotel you are... "
Submitted By: Mrs D BurtonThe hotel has everything you need pool is great, great staff and very polite too they cant do enough for you . Meals were also great with a restaurant for you breakfast and evening meals as we went half board you cant ask for more.
Entertainment was excellent too and on our last night there the whole family stared in the show grease and we all thoroughly enjoyed this experience.
Beach is the best in Menorca and people were coming from all over Menorca for a day at son Bou beach and when you get there you will understand why. If you have time have a trip to Mahon it is also a very nice place to visit and excellent for presents for back home too we bought loads from novelty ashtrays to shoes.
There are a nice few restaurants at Mahon too
Also nice places to eat in Son Bou itself with a lot of designer shops too i spent most of my afternoons in them brought loads home without spending too much money amazing how much money you can save.
All i have to say on this is if you are after a nice relaxing and entertaining holiday then this is the place to be. Especially if you have kids as there is loads for them to do. I hardly ever seen mine especially between 11-3, hottest time in sun kids club take them indoors so they don’t get burnt and they also bring them back to you when the kids have had enough which i think is great as long as you tell the kid club reps where you will be they don’t have a problem with it.
To sum up 10/10. Will I be returning definitely in the near future have fun Donna, john Nathan and Bethany ages 27 30 8 and 5.
" I have just had a two week holiday in... "
Submitted By: Miss N TrussIt was allocated on arrival and we couldn’t have asked for a better place.
The hotel is located at the top of a small mountain but don’t let this put you of, the views are amazing its lovely and quiet and the hotel supply a courtesy bus service to the beach which is situated at the bottom of the hill it runs every half hour.
The hotel complex is a 4* you either get a hotel room or an apartment, I had the apartment and even though we were half board we still had full facilities in the room to cook a meal, fridge, freezer English TV.
The restaurant was great all full table service for your drinks an a buffet style dinner and breakfast there was always something different to choose from, again the bar area was table service no need to queue there was always someone there to take your order.
I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a quiet relaxing holiday.
" Hotel San Valentine cannot purely be... "
Submitted By: Miss LS Saunders

The staff are exceptionally welcoming and very friendly and understanding. Many families who go to San Valentine often visit again year after year, making the experience of your holiday very relaxing and peaceful, its almost as if everyone already knows each other, and openly welcomes new friends.
The entertainment staff surely know how to get everyone involved, although not in an overbearing manner. They are a great source of entertainment not only for the children, but also for the adults. There presence is always welcomed and again, they are always friendly and upbeat.
The struggle up the gradient to the hotel can sometimes be a little testing, however, great fun if you are with friends, or out for a leisurely stroll. There is a bus service (free of charge) which runs from the hotel to the very well equipped local town, which is again, very pleasant and welcoming. (Especially the Hawaiian Bar!) Very quiet, tack-less town with more than enough amenities!
All in all, every aspect of the hotel creates the perfect holiday and provides different personalities with something to fulfil their needs.... There honestly is something for everyone...and I can almost guarantee that If you go once, you’ll have to go back time and time again!

There is a free regular shuttle bus from the reception down to the town/beach which is great, although this can get very busy on occasions and disappointingly finished at 7.00pm which meant that if you went for an evening meal in the town you had to either walk back up or get a taxi.
The communal areas are all kept to an extremely high standard and all the staff we dealt with were friendly and obliging. We ate in the hotel restaurant on a few occasions and the choice of food was very good and of a high standard with dishes to suit every palate. The pool area is great and there is a covered area with table tennis, pool etc which the kids loved. The entertainment both in the day and the evening was good (except for the reps night) and varied.
Menorca itself is beautiful and would recommend hiring a car (as we did) to see the island as there are loads of beautiful beaches, historic sites, good shopping etc - in fact something for everyone.
Don't use the supermarket on the hotel site as this is very expensive compared to the supermarkets in the town.
Great hotel, plenty to do but not too over-powering and noisy, high standards all round - we've booked again to go next summer!
