A nice family holiday. Few bad points though. As a vegetarian I found the food quite disappointing, not much choice at all. (although living on rice and salad did have it's good point, I lost 3lb)
And the entertainment was very amateur. Ah, the infamous musical chairs. Very sophisticated.
Staff were very approachable and were always in good spirits they were always happy to help (it helped if you're female lol).
The pool was clean and at around 3pm you could expect to join in with the infamous water polo (may be another reason why I lost those 3lbs eh?) Overall it was a pleasant experience, nice hotel.

What a fantastic holiday!
My boyfriend and I had originally booked to go to Greece but due to circumstance could not go on the dates we had booked so cancelled and booked a cheap and cheerful holiday to Gumbet, after losing out on quite a bit of money.
We didn't know what to expect having heard plenty of different opinions on what Turkey in general would be like, and after reading reviews on our hotel, The Yellow Rose.
All I can say is any expectations were totally blown away as soon as we made our journey from Bodrum Milas airport to our hotel. The scenery is to die for, beautiful and hilly, and it stayed this way the whole journey.
From arriving to leaving we never got bored, and found that whether in the hotel or in Gumbet or Bitez (a small seaside village in which a free bus service runs from the hotel) everyone attempted to make our vacation as perfect as possible. The shop vendors can be slightly pushy at times, especially in Turgetreis market (trips can be booked for Saturdays), where they thought nothing of literally dragging you into a shop; but the reductions you could get them to make in the prices of fantastic quality fake designer wear was amazing and I came back with alot more excess baggage than I went out with, mainly due to my love of the second to none quality of the Louis Vuitton bags, and my boyfriend constantly buying Lacoste jumpers. Trust me, haggle as much as possible!
The rooms in the hotel itself were basic but we spent little time there and at least the beds were comfy! TVs offered very few channels and all of those were Turkish aside from an Italian music station (which admittedly played English tracks) and CNN news. However the rest of the hotel I found more than satisfying. The location was wonderful between Gumbet and Bitez (although I don’t recommend walking to either location more than once in your whole trip!) and the scenery around it was stunning. The pool was gorgeous, and I even really enjoyed the food, but my boyfriend did struggle to eat any of it. It’s very cheap to eat out though and alot of the restaurants pay for taxis too so look out for ones that do that!
I had a Turkish bath in the hotel and that was a strange but amazing experience really and I would definitely recommend it for £10 per person which includes sauna and Jacuzzi time as well.
I really miss the hotel and even the staff who did all they could to allow for an enjoyable holiday. Watch out for the alcohol however as they literally pour from the bottle rather than measure shots, and I was drunk on more than a few occasions!
That’s the same everywhere in Turkey though so it means a much cheaper night out!
I recommend the Lazy day cruise to anyone and we had a fantastic day out and I got a brilliant tan to boot as it is very very hot there, even in September! Definitely go for this trip, its well worth it.
Chapa travel also made our holiday fab and we encountered no problems and any questions we did have they were more than willing to help out with.
Gumbet is buzzing and the nightlife is wonderful with bars, clubs, restaurants and even shops showing little sign of closing even in the wee hours of the morning. Its such a colourful and lively place and we really enjoyed it. In particular the bar Legends and the restaurant Mandarin.
In all we had a fab time with the only slight problem being how basic the rooms were and the food is not for everyone being very salad based and very foreign, although burgers and chips are offered as snacks.
I would love to go back again next year, although this time will be with a little one and I don’t really fancy pushing a pram up and down the hills! But I will go back and I recommend it to anyone!

All Inclusive more like fed and watered. This is a Turkish 4 star hotel not an English 4 star.
I am pushed to say this hotel is more of a 3 star rating as it is very dated and the all inclusive basis leaves a lot to be desired. The room was very small with a tiny bathroom in which you were lucky if the shower was luke warm.
The swimming pool however was the only nice feature and the staff were all very nice and helpful. I would recommend this holiday to anyone looking for a cheap week in the sun.

The hotel was great we had a pool side room which was very clean and every thing worked fine and any problems that we did have house keeping came and sorted within 10mins of reporting the staff at the hotel were very friendly and the Turkish bath was amazing.
The food was a bit repetitive but nice all the same and it is cheap enough to eat out.
The all inclusive alcohol was very limited to lager, wine, vodka, gin, white rum and all inclusive drinks are only served until 11pm.
The food wasn't 4* but everything else was great I would definitely go back.

Booked holiday a month before we went, through Fly Brits/Vision holidays. Flew with Thomas Cook. On the 12th June, our destination was the Yellow Rose Hotel which was clean ,and bright, rooms adequate, service was good. Beautiful Rose shaped pool and clean.
We found the staff very pleasant and helpful nothing was too much trouble, the food could have been a little better but with it being so hot salads we very acceptable.
The only downside was the walk back from Gumbet it was all uphill but you could catch a bus or a taxi and the prices were very good. You catch a purple bus to Bodrum which was only 1lira25.
I also recommend the lazy day cruise offered by the rep well worth the money. And a must is a Turkish bath lovely one at the hotel but do it a the start of you holiday.

Food ok, got a bit boring but beer was good. Had to pay for international drinks, but local was free.
Pool was nice, rooms were always kept clean, the staff could not do enough for you. Gumbet town was brill, Bodrum town bit older. Getting to Gumbet town you can walk but safer in taxi, 5 lira.
Beach was packed like sardines but made you feel welcome. On whole had a brill time.

Stayed at The Yellow Rose Hotel for 1 week. Really enjoyed my time there. Staff were brilliant, they were so friendly and were always organising daytime entertainment.
Accommodation was good, hotel was generally clean and maids provided clean towels on a daily basis. Best part of the hotel was probably the pool, good size and plenty of cushioned sun beds. Hotel is about a 10 minute walk from Gumbet town, there are lots of restaurants, shops and bars if you want to get away from the hotel for a while. And Mr Frog's Karaoke bar is a must after a few drinks (Build me up buttercup)!
Best to get a taxi back though as hill is fairly steep and probably very difficult after a few cocktails, especially with Turkish measures. Staying all inclusive is good in that you get free drinks, Beer is vile but apparently gets better after about 15! Food on the other hand was pretty bad, breakfast was the same every day, salad and boiled egg. There wasn’t much choice, however hotel is not that big so couldn't expect too much. And if you like yesterday evenings chips served cold with a dollop of ketchup you're sorted! And rice as this was served with every meal without fail.
Overall the hotel was not that bad, staff made the stay really enjoyable, free drink, sun and a swimming pool so can't complain too much. Hotels not a 4* probably 3 at English standards however I had a really good holiday.

I would like to say thank you to the staff at the hotel. They were all very friendly and always making you laugh. And they are always asking how you are.
The food was nice however not much choice to choose from, and very repetitive.
The hotel room was nice but basic. However I was a bit worried to discover a phone in the bathroom. Why was there a phone in the bathroom?
I mostly liked the pool, as it was very clean and big, so there was space for lots of people to swim.
When I first arrived I didn't think I would like the hotel as it was small and I like a lot of atmosphere. However I really enjoyed it as it was peaceful and relaxing. I didn't want to come back. And I am definitely coming back next year and cannot wait. I also made some friends on the last night (Laura, James, Chris and Polly) How’s your head Polly? lol
The walk to the town was tiring, and when you get there the shopkeepers are dragging you into their shops, and practically begging you to buy something. So if you go beware and just walk away. The town is very busy on a night but has lots of night clubs if you’re into that thing. Also if you are in the town on a night don't walk back get a taxi as it is dangerous to walk back, especially if your a woman and alone.
The only down side to the hotel is the entertainment. The staff tried to make it fun but, when I heard musical chairs was the entertainment one night I thought that was bad. However I had a great laugh watching people playing. So it wasn't that bad, but they should reconsider their entertainment.
Also when I was there they had kittens around near the pool. And I was glad to see that the staff was looking after the kittens and their mother. Also guests were always giving them food and lots of cuddles.

This hotel was fantastic. Its rated a four star but maybe only 3 but still couldn't ask for a better atmospheric place.
The staff can't speak much English but the ones that do speak English could not have been more helpful and really pleasant. Everyone we came across had a smile on their face. its not ideally located for beach but there is free travel service. The Gumbet town is a ten minute walk over little hill.
The food is fantastic great range for all but towards the end of the week its seems a bit repetitive but the occasional dinner out in town is a must because all locals are friendly and a good meal is cheap, some restaurants will pick you up at hotel and bring you back. A must is the all inclusive boat trip which can be arranged through your tour agent.

I would like to advise anyone reading this review to stay well away from this hotel, its located on top of a hill about a 5-7 min walk away from Gumbet town however if you decide to walk you are actually risking your life as the locals seem to think they are all rally drivers and drive like lunatics. So to prevent getting run over you might think its safe to order a taxi, again you will find yourself praying that you make it one piece as the taxi drivers like a he’s being chased by a swarm of killer bees.
As far as the food is concerned you will find your self scratching your head and asking as to how they can have the audacity to serve up such slop. The food was so bad it did leave me thinking that they had recruited the head chef from a local prison, let me explain the breakfast consists of cornflakes, bread, hard boiled eggs, jam, sweaty cheese and any number of vegetables from the day before. Lunch is leftovers from the day before for example they served up the chips from the previous evening on a plate, cold with a dollop of ketchup. As you can see so far there is a distinct lack of meat . . . for dinner if your lucky you will get potato wedges, rice, pasta with yesterdays sweaty feta cheese mixed in, broccoli, Brussels sprouts???, sweaty salad that’s not in any way edible, more sweaty cheese, oh and of course stale bread that’s been out all day. The deserts are a joke . . . flavoured custard!!! In the after noon they have a burger bar by the pool the chips are over cooked and the burgers are so thin that you may mistake it for a salad burger.
The rooms are no more than adequate as far as the air conditioning is concerned it will change between blowing out hot and cold air if you can get it working (I kid you not).
The pool and sun beds are actually very nice the pool is always a nice temperature. Most of the staff are excellent however there are some that are not.
Also if you are expecting to be able to order from a wide selection of alcoholic beverages you will be more than disappointed as they will only serve you the local vodka and local beer you can rest assured that it’s not in anyway nice. If however you would like a whiskey or gin and tonic for example you will be forking out £4 a drink. They have orange squash on tap but many of the people staying at the hotel who drank this found that they had unbearable stomach acid.
This hotel is sold as a 4 star hotel. . Its not infact it would be laughable to even consider it a 2 star please please don’t read this and think its exaggerated every thing I have written is true I myself could not believe it when I arrived. You will be disappointed do not go … oh and do not buy any excursions from you rep you can get them half the price in town.

The hotel and staff were just what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The hotel rooms were clean and tidy with excellent air conditioning, and a fridge to keep your own drinks cool.
The staff were polite and friendly and always eager to help. Gumbet itself was a lovely place with plenty to do, we found the water sports on the beach were fantastic and at a really cheap price.
I would definitely recommend booking a few of the day trips, such as the boat trip and if you have children the water park trip.

I found food very basic. Not much choice. I found staff very friendly to females. Sometimes a bit too much, but was friendly.
Rooms nice and clean but no hot water in bathroom. The pool was good also. Entertainment bit dull. If your room is near stage is very noisy some nights. A good holiday for families.
