Avoid this Hotel at all costs!
from A TripAdvisor Member
We had a wonderful time in Greece, apart from our experience with this hotel. They were not accomodating, extremely rude and had no concept of customer service... but they were more than willing to take our money. We had an issue with the management, and they were not willing to resolve it with us, we had to contact Best Western in the States to get any help. The Kallisti Thera seemed to go out of their way to inconvenience us. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, the rates are appealing, but the service is lacking, spend the money...

Great hotel, when plumbing works!
from A TripAdvisor Member
Overall, I really enjoyed staying at this hotel, although we had a few minor hiccups while we were there. Santorini has quite a large problem with plumbing, and the entire 2nd floor was flooded when we arrived. We were put up in the hotel to the left of the Kallisti for one night. That one was terrible (we were invaded by ants, the bed was uncomfy, etc.) so we were very glad to come back to the Kallisti. Our room was very large and spacious, although the bathroom was quite small and the shower leaked! Breakfast was fairly good, but...

Great Location...
from Seven777
I really enjoyed the Kallisti hotel on the island of Santorini. It is in a perfect location with instant access to the centre of Fira, the main town. The hotel has about 50 rooms, and are fairly large. The room I was given had 3 single beds and 1 double bed. All of that for only 3 people. It was great. The hotel staff is friendly, but they do seem to be in slow motion and really laid back. The breakfast was good with a nice selection to chose from. There is not a view to the Caldera or Sea but it is not far at all. The pool area is...

Nice Hotel - Good location to town.
from Krisp7773
This was a great hotel if you not looking to pay the high prices staying directly on the Caldera. Spent a few afternoons out by the pool which was really nice, except for all the tour buses passing every 10 minutes. The front desk staff could have been alittle more helpful...everyone seems so laid back. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were nice. I have to say I really enjoyed my time in Santorini and I was very happy with the location of this hotel to the main area of town. If you not looking to pay a small fortune this hotel is...

Not Spectacular
from greecetrip
This hotel was somewhat dissappointing from the time we arrived until the time we departed (3 days). As far as we could tell, there were no views of the Agean sea, nevermind the Caldera. In my estimation, it wound be difficult to build a hotel on this island that does not have some sort of view, yet somehow they managed to do it. The staff was helpful at times (when asked for directions), however I observed rudeness and unprofrossionalism on several occasions. The rooms were as might be expected in Europe, small, dark and uncomfortable....

Hotel is very Europen
from gilforeth
I never saw the owner of the hotel, but Sophia at the front desk was very helpful. There is no view of the water from the hotel, but it is clean and the breakfast was a good start to the day. The rooms are very typical of Europe, they are smaller and the beds were low. The Majestic, down the street is new and nicer, but it does not have the feel that this one does. This hotel is located a short walk from the square, it is in a great location.
Not Impressed
from A TripAdvisor Member
This was my first trip to Santorini. The reason I went to Santorini is for the spectacular view of the ocean from the cliffs on the South side of the island. However, this hotel has no view of the ocean, unless you are on the top floor on the North side of the hotel where you can get an unimpressive view of the ocean from several miles away. My room was located on the second to the top floor and they have planted trees that block any glimpse you might have of the ocean in the distance. The room was dark and the pool area was OK, but not...

The owner is downright rude
from Patcuntwell
We had a wonderful time in Greece, except for our experience with the owner of this hotel who goes out of his way to be rude. He actually watches over his workers at the breakfast buffet to make sure there is only one or two pastries or eggs in the serving pastries at a time even though the breakfast area will be full. His front desk girl also seems to enjoy arguing with guests for whatever reason. The mattresses on the bed are so old that you can actually feel the springs. They're are many nice hotels and people in...

Very Bad
from JF&PM
While this is a tolerable hotel in a good location, the owners, management and staff are probably the worst we have ever encountered in the hotel industry. The poor treatment they give their guests suggests to me that they should seriously consider moving to a business where they do not have to deal with the public.
Nice Hotel
from greekamerican
Nice Hotel. Very clean and the staff was very helpfull and friendly. This is a great hotel to stay at if your not looking to pay the high prices for a hotel with a Caldera view. The town of Thira is an easy three block walk. The bus service for the island is very near the hotel.
