We had originally booked to stay at the Meltemi Suites around the corner and were incredibly disappointed when the owners had decided to transfer us to the nearby sister hotel, Meltimi Village. My Wife & I stayed at the Gardenia from July 3rd - 17th 2007. We both enjoy Greece & have visited plenty of islands staying in a variety of hotels/apartments. The Gardenia is right up there. Air conditioning worked great, maid service every day. Fresh Towels daily, Shower curtain is a massive plus in greece. All the staff were friendly & helpful. It was my third time back to Santorini and my partners second. Our stay was for three weeks in this lovely hotel. It was really well situated close to all local amenities and a two minute walk to the beach. If you prefer to stay by the pool it is massive. Found this Hotel to be really nice, located close to the Seafront and within easy walking distance of Restaurants. Reception was always staffed and all staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool is one of the largest we have seen in a small hotel and the water was freshwater not saltwater. Accomodation is simple but very clean and maid service 6 days, with regular linen changes. The shower worked very well, loads of hot water and a cutain! Will go again.

Have used this hotel for nearly 20 years. its handy for my wife who is disabled,close to the beach if you require it,easy walking distance to most taverna's and supermarkets, bakers within ear shot in fact well located. The staff are all very friendly nothing is too much trouble, rooms are basic, plenty of hot water yes salty but you don't drink hot water,cleaners in every day except Sunday and do a good job.and Elias the owner he is a character aways has a smile on his face,will help anyone, we look forward to seeing them all again in May... more

When my friends pal had to suddenly pull out of her holiday, I jumped at the chance of taking her place and visiting Santorini. And I was not disappointed! A beautiful island, although very hot in August! As for the gardenia, yes, it was basic, but cleaned on a regular basis and the staff were helpful. The shower could have done with some curtains or something, as it was a bit like showering in a fire hearth-water went everywhere and you ended up standing starkers mopping the pool of water. lol. the hotel was basic but clean, the maid was there every day. The staff were very friendly and helpfull,the day was spent lazing by the pool then when the sun went down round to the poolside bar on the main street for one to many of aussie Daves cocktials some of the best ever tasted!!! would recomend a bus ride to where ever you want to go on the island you wont be disopointed.I must say we did not want this holiday to end. One thing is if you dont like things easy going and slightly on the quiet side give this beautifull islnd a miss.

Among all the hotels we booked in Greece, it's the worst. Dirty sheets, salted water in the shower and a very bad smell permanently in the bathroom. Moreover, it is badly located and far from the beach. We booked for 3 nights, but we left after 2 nights and the direction never wanted to refund us for these nights. I would never go back to this hotel.

unless you want to shower in salt water then dont stay here. We complained about the water and they said that all hotels on the island had this problem......That was a lie because friends staying at another hotel did not have this problem!!! I had a small cut on my hand and when i showered it was burning. Brushing your teeth in salt is gross. The staff was rude and dishonest. terrible hotel bad location and the rooms are not the cleanest

This hotel is perfect if you are looking for a quiet holiday lazing round the pool which I was told is one of the largest in the resort. Although not the poshest hotel, the staff were all pleasant, the rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day except Sunday and the pool bar was well-stocked and cheap. For us, this is perfect! We travelled with our 7 year old son and 16 year old daughter and had two rooms next to each other.
