" What a Fab Family "

We first came to Lavrion in May 2004 and have been going there every year since. Stathis and the Family are fantastic and very friendly. We feel as though we are part of the family, we even call them mam and dad.It is a very relaxed holiday and the family can't do enough for you. We have been five times in four years. We love the place and look forward to going back every year and seeing the family. When we first went little yannis was only six months old and now he's a little playmate for our grandaughter who loves going there also. The family spoil her rotten. I love nothing better than laying round the pool and just relaxing. The place is very clean and the foood is fab. Looking forward to going there this year. We are always very sad to leave.

" Fab holiday "

Have been to this place five times in the last four years. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Ipsos. The family are fantastic and can't do enough for you. We look forward to going there every year. We feel as though we are part of the family. The place is very clean and the food is lovely. We don't go on the trips because we just want a relaxing holiday and are quite happy to take a walk down to the front or stay at Lavrion. We now take our grandaughter with us and she looks forward to seeing the family especially little yannis as he is a playmate for her. We are all vey sad when we have to leave and we keep intouch with the family when we come home.

" What a great fortnight we have just... "

What a great fortnight we have just had at the lavrion in ipsos , a small family run place that has a lovely pool and ample sunloungers. The appartment is basic as are most greek appartments but it was clean and tidy somewhere to rest your head after a long day of enjoyment. There is pool table and they will put whatever you ask them to on the television in the bar area, the food is nice but there are plenty of other places to eat if you fancy a nice walk into ipsos. Just down the road is a place called the squirrel and the food is fab there not a great deal to choose from as it is a more traditional greek restaurant but worth a visit, for the more i like english food people try Tiffanys up on the front in ipsos it is english run by a nice geordie bloke and you can get fish chips and mushy peas there amongst other food the service is good and so is the atmosphere. If you want a drink then a bit further along the road is dirty nellies an irish bar which is great fun barry the bar man is great as are all the happy barmaids nothing is too much trouble. we stayed in at the lavrion quite a few of the nights and had a great laugh everyone seems to get along so well because it is a small place i loved it. costas the waiter there is a little angel he will serve you all day and night and play you at pool if you want, overall a great holiday just watch the roads on your walk into ipsos and walk onto traffic as the locals are a bit mad when behind the wheel and take mossie repellent as they are quite bad. Don't book trips with your reps go to the local tour operators and it is worth while taking your driving licence as the car hire isn't that bad and the island is really pretty so see as much of it as you can. The only bad thing about my holiday was the one boat trip we went on was'nt very good and our rep was a bit crap and we did have a few loud people come in our second week but i would return again as it was a great place to be and i met such lovely people some of which i hope become dear friends.

" I have just returned from the best... "

I have just returned from the best holiday ever at the Lavrion apartments in Ipsos Corfu. The family Staffis, his wife and children are the most welcoming and friendly people i have ever met.

Yannis who works the bar with Staffis is hilarious and could not do enough for us. All the staff made our holiday, and we genuinely felt that we would not miss out on anything even if we just stayed in the hotel bar every night we were treated that well.

The rooms are clean and light not too hot, and the apartments are situated is not noisy so you can sleep at night after an evening making your way through the hotels cocktail list!!! (thoroughly recommended!)

We nearly cried when we had to leave and would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to anyone.

We would just like to thank all the staff from the Lavrion for making our holiday there truly magical.

If you are reading this yannis- thank you again and see you next year! From Adele and Ray

" Have just returned from a week at the... "

Have just returned from a week at the Lavrion Studios.

The owner Stathis and his Family are the nicest most welcoming people who have every right to be very proud of their place. The rooms as in most of Greece are basic but extremely clean the pool and bar area are first class, and everywhere is spotless the pool area including every sunbed, table, patio area is scrubbed every morning.

The rooms are totally cleaned every other day with beds changed and fresh towels, the family simply cannot do enough for you, Stathis even called us at home to make sure we got back ok, and they are that friendly to every person that stays there, by the time you leave they make you feel like one of the family.

This is a fantastic place to stay for both young and old alike, the centre of Ipsos is a pleasant ten minute stroll away so if you want the busy nightlife it is close by but it is not noisy at night when you want to sleep, would thoroughly recommend the Lavrion Studios to anyone.

My only negative would be Libra Holidays who unfortunately you have to use to stay here!!

" Lavrion apartments. Ipsos, Corfu.

Lavrion apartments. Ipsos, Corfu.

The apartments were beautifully clean, well appointed, light and airy with a small balcony. The owners of the small apartment building were extremely hospitable - in fact we became almost a part of the family! Our luggage was taken to our rooms for us, we were greeted with free drinks - and throughout our stay were regularly treated to freebies! The pool was clean, the only downside to the accommodation is that it is not suitable for families with young children because each room only sleeps two people. Alongside the pool and sun loungers was a bar that served food, we ate there quite a lot and the food is lovely, the staff bent over backwards to please us.

Our accommodation was about half a mile away from the resort centre of Ipsos, which is located approximately one hours drive from Corfu airport. Ipsos is a lovely resort, a good selection of bars, restaurants and just about every cuisine is catered for! I was vegetarian at the time of my visit and found no problems finding good, delicious food.

There is a variety of nightlife in Ipsos, the resort is centred around about a mile long strip alongside the beach, there was a group of 8 of us that went, and there is something for everyone - foam party, karaoke nights, English bars, Greek bars - cocktails to die for! If you prefer a slow pace then that is catered for too, and there are some lovely places for families.

The beach is mainly shingle, and I didn’t spend much time on that beach - our pool was adequate, and we did a lot of trips!

A top tip for you - do not buy your trips from the holiday reps, go to the local travel agents, we got one of our trips at half the price that the reps were asking!

A great day out is Corfu’s aqualand - an absolute blast - again there is something for everyone, single, couples families alike! Go on some of the boat trips too, you see some beautiful coastline, and on one of the trips you get to go swimming from the boat! You will discover some lovely coves and harbours. No holiday on Corfu is complete without a trip to Corfu town, we went twice, once on an evening boat trip, and the other time we went in jeeps that we hired out.

Corfu town is fantastic, I fell in love with the place, there are some beautiful buildings, and although quite how some of them still stand is beyond me! The shops are lovely, there are quite a lot of 'tourist' shops, but look a little harder and you will find some wonderful places, my husband and I bought ourselves new wedding rings, gold is very cheap over there, and is beautifully crafted, much better quality than our stuff in England! And for all those young, or missing England, there is also a MacDonald’s!

I would thoroughly recommend anyone of any age to go to Ipsos on Corfu, it is a lovely base from which to explore the Island, the Island itself is wonderful, we found late may/early June a really good time to go, it is at the start of the season, so the holiday is cheaper, everything is open - but the place isn’t crammed with us tourists, and it is not too hot.

I don’t think you can find anyone more hospitable than Greek hosts, they really do make you welcome, and will do all they can for you.

My only word of warning, is to make sure you drink only bottled water, and take nappy sacks - you are not allowed to flush your toilet paper on Corfu as it backs up the system, your paper becomes very smelly very quickly! Also be aware that if you do block up the system you will suffer the consequences!
