This 5-star luxury hotel has a stunningly imaginative layout, nestling into a hillside just above the Marina Rubicon. It was very comfortable and our room was well-equipped and spacious. That said, we were a little disappointed with certain aspects of service, possibly related to the fact that the hotel was very quiet when we were there.
For example (1) on arrival we had quite a long wait for a porter to become available to show us to our room; (2) if we wanted a bath or shower in the afternoon we had to phone reception to ask for hot water to be turned on; (3) the selection of food available at breakfast was not very impressive and hot dishes were sometimes only lukewarm; (4) there's no decent venue for evening entertainment in the hotel - as a result, audiences were very sparse and sometimes were outnumbered by the entertainers.
Hotel staff were generally courteous and friendly. Plenty of reasonably-priced restaurants are available in the Marina Rubicon area nearby, so we never tried the hotel's own restaurants for lunch or dinner.
Overall, a nice hotel in a good location but in my view not quite justifying its 5-star status.

Recently stayed in this hotel choose the upgrade to Club Volcan
Quite disgruntled to find mass upgrade of guests from non club area done on a freebie not bad when we paid an hefty supplement. We couldnt access many of our prepaid facilities totally dominated by free upgrade guests. Beware. Very tired hotel in need of restoration. Poor restaurants in hotel. 20 minutes walk from Playa Blanca which was not much more exciting. Set on a marina classed as luxurious. Restaurants poor and expensive Dont go save your money. Dont think of complaining either as apparently according to reception staff each time complaints were attempted there was no management in the hotel Very strange!!! The only good thing about Lanzarote was the weather.
