Naxos Royal Hotel

My friend and I were very pleased with our 3 night stay at the Naxos Royal Beach Hotel. The location was very close to town - the maps make it look farther than it is. It took about 5 minutes walking to get down to the harbor area. And, there were restaurants along the way, as well. The pool was clean and the chairs comfortable. The Naxos Royal Beach hotel was the ideal location for a naxos vacation. it had a wonderful pool that you could visualize the entire beach. and you could just as easily have walked to the beach and laid out there. The rooms were small, which seems to be typical with Europe. The showers are always something to be dealt with. But the staff are not very helpful. and are rude. So don't ask for anything or talk to the staff and you will love this place. my advice is to rent a car and drive throughout the entire island of naxos. There are... more

Naxos Royal seemed to be the biggest and the best hotel in the main town of Naxos. It is very central and although we hired a scooter and drove to the Agia Anna or Agia Propokias every day to go to the beach we were pleased to be staying so close to town so that we could walk at night. These beaches are much nicer with gorgeous white sand and clear clear water. This hotel was very nice. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I would recommend it. It is a little out of the main town but its a short ten minute walk. The pool is great. Breakfast is very good in teh morning. A two minute walk to the beach. Naxos is a very nice quiet island. Not very touristy and this hotel was excellent

We stayed at the Royal Beach in June '06 and found it to be a fantastic hotel in a rather quiet island. We were however fortunate to have a first floor room directly overlooking the pool. We got the sun all day long on our balcony which was a bonus. The room was around average size and as the hotel was fairly new everything was in pristine condition. We were asked to "go acoss the street" to the next hotel due to over booking. So, we really only stayed in our room for one night. It was nice and clean, nice big shower, over looking the pool. They call this a "sea view" room, because you can see St George Beach off in the distance. Don't get me wrong, it was a lovely view, just don't expect to be looking directly over the sea. This is a relatively new hotel, with nice architecture and a lovely pool. The rooms are decent, though we had showers and no baths. It would be a good basic beach hotel, but for a new hotel they have lots of maintenance problems (sockets, showers, lights which don't work) so I suspect it will fall apart very quickly. Having spent 2 nights in a horrible hotel (just opposite the Naxos Royal )we were so pleased to move to the Naxos Royal where it couldnt have been more different. The room was clean, and nicely furnished with fridge and balcony furniture Although not all rooms have a bathtub the shower was good.There is an outdoor pool with bar plus free gym etc.Breakfast was good with a selection of fruit juice/cereals/breads/cake and yoghourt plus bacon and scrambled eggs. This hotel is brand new and it was difficult to find fault. Great location, just a short walk to the beach and to town. Rooms were immaculately clean, good size, nice bed, etc. We had a sea view (worth the extra money) and could watch the sun set from our balcony. Bathroom was good - only criticism being no bath tub. Beautiful swimming pool with bar and hotel has free gym. We had breakfast by the pool every morning and there was a great selection of food. The Naxos Royal is a new hotel in its first season of operations. Clearly, a substantial investment has been made in this larger attractive property. The facilities and grounds look new with everything freshly painted, recently installed, and unspoiled. The rooms are standard sized, but each has a balcony (where we watched the sun set), and the bathrooms are nicely designed containing full showers.
