Amalia Hotel Nauplia

Don't stay at this hotel. It is far from town center and the hotel is very old, 1970's and needs upgrading.

We started our tour of the Peloponnese/mainland of Greece in the Amalia hotel in Nauplion. (We stayed exclusively in Amalia hotels during our driving tour -- see my other reviews). The Nauplion hotel is very large and isolated from the main town. It is located right off the road as you are driving towards town. The landscaping is quite beautiful and the hotel is not the same decor as the other Amalia ones. The Amalia Naufplia Hotel is spacious and clean. The decor, unlike many of the hotels in the Amalia chain, is not "60's Modern", but a sort of pastel attempt at fin de siecle. My room was clean and spacious, as was the bathrooms. I had a small balcony from which I had a view of a hotel courtyard, surrounding fields, and mountains in the distance.
